A small, low-key venue that is well maintained. Really friendly service. Really amazing food at decent prices! There's also a small drinks list to complement your meal. Our group was surprised a place like this is in the CBD. Would highly recommend.

Had a good experience on a Saturday dining with friends for lunch. They have digital/online ordering system so you need to scan the QR code on each table and it will go from there. You also have to pay in advance through the app after placing your order in. The food came rather quick and mostly all together. We ordered chicken skewers with peanut sauce, grilled beef ribs, beef tripe in coconut soup, crunchy anchovies and peanut as a side and some white rice. All the flavours were good balance, especially the beef ribs were very yummy. The chicken skewers were also tender and the satay peanut sauce is delicious. For drinks we ordered iced tea and es cendol, nothing too special about them just average. The 4 stars is for the food portions as I found it a little bit pricey for the amount of food that came out (4 dishes and 2 drinks for $66 plus 1% card surcharge).

Can't say enough to entice you to this rare little gem of an Indonesian restaurant. The aromas as you enter will have your stomach yearning to fill it with delicious, exotic tastes and flavours. Simple little restaurant, but the food is well known by those that frequently dine there.

Been here a couple of times and definitely dining again . The food is absolutely delicious. The eggplant sambal and chargrilled beef ribs are very popular for good reasons. The durian creme brulee is a must-try. Place is welcoming and the staff are nice.

Delish! We ate in for lunch. We ordered: Sate sapi - Grilled beef skewers with tomato & sweet soy sauce, served with pickles; Iga Bakar Sambal Matah - Grilled beef short ribs with Bali style sambal; Gulai Ayam - chicken curry Padang style; Cumi Baki - Grilled calamari with special turmeric paste. It was all delicious! but hands down, you have to order the Cumi Baki. It was absolutely divine!! I could eat this every day. Staff were lovely. The food was amazing.

Really enjoyed the food. Crispy chicken was super moist. Beef Rendang was tender and copious amounts of the red oil pooled on top. Nasi goreng full of flavour, medium spicy was just right. Crispy fried beef was crispy and with sumptuous chilli sauce that really rounded off the flavours. Tendon curry dish was rwlly on point, don't remember the name but tendons were so tender and the curry sauce paired really well together. Food to me tasted like authentic Indonesian food, would definitely come back again.

Went to the Sambal for lunch and had a great feed. Fast service and very friendly team. Only let down was the online ordering system was confusing and frustrating. We were told on arrival that no hard copy menu is available so online ordering is a must. Then another customer entered and was handed a hard copy menu... how strange. 🤔 Nice food, fresh and gluten free options available. Tea was also lovely.
