Moduwa is a Japanese restaurant which is run by Korean with a few Korean inspired dishes. They are specialising in ramen and grilled meat. 🙂
Their Moduwa’s Shio Ramen with rich & creamy salt based broth was quite good. There were three thin pieces of pork belly chashu for the topping which had a beautiful charred flavour. The egg was cooked perfectly with a creamy yolk but it wasn’t marinated as the classic Ajisuke Tamago. Overall it was still tasty & almost authentic. 😌
Their panko coated Pork Tonkatsu has a beautiful light fluffy crunch. It was paired perfectly with a tangy sauce poured over the top. Although it was a tad thin but large in size. Not a bad choice if you prefer rice over noodles. 🙂
Their lunch bentos are good value, especially Moduwa Bento which contains fried chicken & fried mushroom, two pieces of flavoured rice ball & small salad. It is sufficient & satisfying. 🙂
My partner and I have been to Moduwa every other week since it opened in Dec 2018 and it is always a splendid visit. The place is clean, service is great, food is delicious and affordable prices. Favourites would include Moduwa Shio, crispy octopus, pork belly chasu and karaage chicken.
Excited to see a good ramen place in the area. Perfect for a lunch, dinner out or meal before the cinemas!
The staff were very friendly, and the service was fantastic and efficient. I usually don't like chicken broths from majority of ramen bars as the richness of the broth often lacks, although this was delicious! The spicy miso ramen was also very rich in flavour, not that spicy though. So if you like spice ask for extra. Both broths were flavoursome and vegetables and meat were cooked perfectly. I'm looking forward to going back to trying more of the menu. If you want sushi, no sushi was on the menu. But if you are in the mood for ramen, its a nice place to go!
The ambience of the restaurant was relaxing and easy going music playing in the background.
Love the ramen and karaage here. Service is great, restaurant is inviting and clean. Would be great if you could top it off with some relaxing Japanese music! :)
It was my best experience ever!!!
Great value! Great service! Great food!
I have some starters. But my first pick is egg plant. I don’t like egg plant, but it was best egg plant dish ever have. And also I want to highly recommend “Moduwa ramen”. I tried to have a lot of ramen in Sydney, I have never seen this soup before!
The soup was fully flavored and I could find out the chef’s efforts.
What is more, If you find the best value for money in lunch, I believe that the salmon or beef bento is the best choice.
I want to tell this amazing restaurant for many people.
This place will be my favorite ramen forever!
I came here for an early lunch here last Sunday with my family and had veggie and miso ramen, pork belly chasu (3pcs), king prawn tempura, spicy tataki, miso eggplant and one beef bento. We were amazed by the quality of the food and service was impeccable. We highly recommend this place and would definitely come back!
Finally a decent ramen place in Miranda! The service was great and staff were welcoming. The menu had a good variety of dishes to choose from. All of which I enjoyed. This will be one of my go to spots when I'm on my break from work. Highly recommend this place and I can't wait to come back to try out the other dishes.
Whenever I want to have great ramen and other food, I just come here! (I didn't take a photo for the ramen cause we just eat all) Even I live far away from here but I don't hesitate! Kind staff and passionate chefs! It is an absolutely amazing place!
Best ramen in Southern Sydney and The Shire. Nice and clean restaurant. Decor is well fitted out and spacious. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The miso ramen was was delicious and the proportion sizes were sufficient. Definitely my go to Japanese restaurant in the area.
My partner and I were planning to go to miranda as we had never been here before, and we were very fortunate to have discovered this amazing japanese restaurant. It was a fantastic experience, well worth the price, and I would love to have another meal at some point in the future.
After browsing around westfield right next to the restaurant (which was also a lot more extravagant than my local ones), we were looking for a place to have lunch/dinner at and to be honest we weren't initially interested in coming here. But after browsing around the other selections from all 3 or 4 levels we eventually decided that moduwa was the way to go. Not that we didn't want to go to moduwa, we just had a different cuisine in mind.
We were welcomed by a lady as we looked at the menu outside, who was very kind and lovely, and she seated us against the wall. It was a really nice looking place, with a bar and well done decor. We looked through the menu and saw many options that were really appetising. We decided to simply get a bunch of sides instead as a method to taste as many dishes as we could, and it was without regrets.
I don't even remember anymore but we had a total of around $60, It was a bit pricey but it was well worth. They definitely follow 'get what you pay for' idea. The one I remember most vividly were the pork gyozas. It was absolutely delicious, and was the best one I've ever had in my life. The very first bite was nice and juicy, but well cooked and full of flavour. Thinking about it makes me want to go back again right now. Would definitely recommend this if you were to go.
It was an experience that I reckon everyone should have because they deliver the food and service like no other.
Great Japanese tapas, each dish seemed to have a unique flavour. I never tried the ramen but friends said it was tasty. Only disappointment was the gyoza which was quite flavourless but I would happily eat here again regardless.
Fast, fresh and quality menu. Have been here several times now trying three of the ramen dishes, the chicken and salmon don buri bowls, both really freah and good vegies, salmon don is a winner. Highly recommend the gyozas, perfectly cooked every time. Friendly staff and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Not a huge menu but a good selection. New favourite Japanese place. Stands up to venues in the city.
