Review Brewristas Cafe - Sydney

Nat Bejain
Very pleasant service, flavourful food, albeit rather small portions. Enjoyed the jerk chicken sambo. Plenty of outdoor seating; great for locals with doggos. Had a tepid, watery long black. Unsure if the barista was in a rush, or this is the preferred style (in which case, others clearly like it). There is room for improvement, in my opinion.

Delicious breakfast at great price. Brekkie burrito is filling and tasty. The guys working couldn't do enough for us, fantastic service. Tasty coffee. Great little cafe!

Possibly the best cheese and ham toastie - ever. Cordial, warm and smiling service. I can see why the place is so busy with constant takeaway. Quintessential Sydney feel to it, the ambience (we dined-in), the food and the location itself. 7 stars for the great experience.

Revising my five star review based on a second visit. Our order for three people included two of the same dish but only one came. One of us was left without food the entire time the others of us finished our meal. We were told we wouldn't be charged for one round of coffees - the fairer course would have been not to charge for the meal that didn't arrive. I left and saw I was charged for the coffees. The meal was surprisingly and sadly bland. Disappointing experience and a shame. Response equally disappointing. Just add salt and pepper because the food is otherwise bland is a great tip. 8 minute delay is just dishonest - it took about 15 after it was raised, which in turn was 10 minutes after it was supposed to arrive, by which point each other person had finished their meal. Pro tip - leave the salt for your food not your review replies

Best batch brew and cappuccino in Sydney! Been there almost everyday since arriving in Sydney and love the place not just for its coffee and food but also for the chilled out atmosphere. Matt, the owner is the sweetest guy ever and makes you feel right at home.

Best all around cafe in Darlinghurst! Wonderful coffee and wonderful people, especially Matt, the owner. Definitely a hub of Darlinghurst locals who come every day to sit or grab their takeaway for work. Lots of seats inside and out— Tasty, simple menu (mostly healthy too) with more extravagant options for brunch on the weekend if you want something special. Also, lots of dogs which is always a plus! If you need a haven in the area this is your spot.

Definitely the best cafe by far, highly recommend !! I would give 10 stars Very accommodating, friendly, staff who really know their coffee. The food is delish but I would like to mention the irresistibly tasting coffee !! This place is filled with lots of love and the pour-over coffee is a must try (even for you non-black coffee drinkers). You will be pleasantly surprised by the delicate, fragrant tea-like and deliciously tasting cup. Shout-out to the handsome brewer

What was previously a remarkable and imaginative five star menu at a lovely coffee shop has now dropped to a thoroughly ordinary and uninspiring two to three star menu thanks to a new chef. What a shame. Seriously, the Korean fusion was brilliant, with excellent ricotta and honey jam hotcakes with plenty of bacon and spices, pork belly and kimchi with tofu, lovely coconut poached chicken sandwiches (my wife's favourite), and a smashed avocado that didn't have to warn people about it containing coriander (seriously?). Now it's just a relatively simple set of breakfasts and burgers that look nice but lack individuality, and they don't even make their own muffins (because they now order in friands that are somehow more imaginative than the food at the café, however marginal that is). Coffee's still good though, so that's something. Next time, we'll take that to go.

Brewistas offers wonderful coffee, delightful food and a great atmosphere. Adding to this their truly welcoming staff, it has most certainly become one of my favourite brunch places to visit! :)

We had breakfast there and it was soooo good. Would definitely recommend checking it out. A must on the menu - Kevin's Balls. You won't regret it.

Good coffee and interesting breakfast items. Loved their porky pig and we also tried hot chicks. Matcha drink was good but pricey at $12. Service was friendly and since we were there really early, the wait for the food wasn't that long which is great when you have an active toddler.

Best coffee and food in the neighbourhood. Well done guys.

A nifty place if you're looking for a special cup of something -cold drips, tea, filtered coffee, they have the lot! There's also a decent food and dessert menu for any time of the day you happen to walk in :)

The avocado toast is to die for. Exceptional customer service. Thanks so much guys!

Sophisticated, well-thought and korean-influenced menu. Wasn't disappointed for the two visits I paid so far. Coffees no doubt live up to the hype - gd quality baristas and beans with great complexity and after-taste. Great location too!

Loved the Big Boy 🍔. The staff were friendly and I'll have that Big Boy 🍔 again 😊.

If you want a clear space without clutter, without the hipster jargon and just to simply appreciate good solid homemade food and seriously the best artisian coffee here is the place to come!

Great coffee, friendly staff. Cold drips, ice coffees and yummy food too! If you are obsessed with coffee, you must visit!

After ordering and sitting for over 30 minutes, we still hadn't received our food. Two other tables ordered after us and got served before us. Walked out extremely unhappy.

Nestled on a corner in Darlinghurst a cute little coffee shop with a whole downstairs cafe. The perfect place to pick up a coffee, have a quick brekkie at the brekkie bar or a sit down downstairs. It was so hard to pick something for brekkie the menu is extensive!! I went with the ham and cheese jaffle which was cheesey and delicious. Chai lattes were also great.

Kevin Ly and the team have recently re-opened at a new location in Darlinghurst. It’s a smaller space compared to their 1.0 joint but their new pocket rocket shop delivers quite a punch. They got your espresso and filter coffee needs sorted along with a new minimalist style menu and some pastries from Brickfields. There’s a good combination of usual café-fare to Vietnamese inspired dishes.

The famous Brewristas formerly of Glebe have now taken over the site where The Profeteia was in 2016 and then Cafe on the Korner popped up for a short time in 2017. Hopefully 2018 will see these the start of a longer standing residency for these well established baristas. Cappuccino ($3.50) using 'First Born' by Savant Roasting Company had enjoyable flavour and texture made by barista James Richard Craig of Roastercoach (2X Roasting champion and official Q grader) so my caffeine hit was in good hands. There's a few good looking pastries on hand but the Gruyere Cheese Toastie ($10) tempts me on my next morning visit or one of their Vietnamese Banh Mi as a lunch option. Downstairs is currently being refitted for something special. For those in need of energy and focus in their day the cute little black bottles of BBB 'Brewristas Brain Brew' are promised to do the trick consisting of MCT Oil, Formulated Water and High Grade Cold Drip Coffee — I might have to give this one a try as well.
