Great Thai food in a central location. It was very busy and very hectic when we went, but the service was still friendly and food came out quickly. The only let down was the crab spring rolls, everything else was delicious. Not the cheapest Thai, but not extortionate! We will return when we go to the theatre across the road.
Went in at around 4.30pm and the menu still offered lunch items. It took us a while to actually read through all the items and picked what we wanted. We ordered a rice noodles soup with various toppings and a rice dish with roasted duck and special sauce. Both were delicious and generous portions but the noodles soup was a bit salty for my liking. I added a bit of vinegar to tone it down and it tasted much better. At the front of the house, they have freshly made desserts and also takeaway dishes at a cheap price. Staff is friendly and space is warm and inviting.
The food was amazing, and the waitress was really friendly. First off, we ordered a prawn curry, aunties noodles with prawn, a snapper dish and mango pudding. To be honest, the prawn curry and the snapper dish had a similar taste, but overall it was perfectly cooked. Aunties noodles was amazing! And the prawns were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the latter.
The woman waiting on us was awesome. She recommended the right dishes, paid attention to our empty glasses, and made us feel at home.
Highly recommend.
What's a trip to Sydney without visiting the all famous Chat Thai. It may be a hyped up Thai restaurant but at least they kept the quality as authentic as possible. My second trip to this restaurant in the span of 1.5 months.
This time, I visited with two of my visiting friends from Singapore and the quality did not disappoint me. Let the photos do their justice.
Was recommended by a friend and seeing the many reviews on Google, I decided to try it. Had to wait about 15min during peak dinner time. Many options to choose from, but decided to keep it simple with the pineapple fried rice and green curry. Food tastes good but saltier than what I’m used to back home. Seating can be a bit cramped so be prepared to be pretty close to your fellow diners.
The last time I visited Chat Thai was probably close to 8 years ago and their food today is still as good! Do remember to book as they can get very busy during dinner.
Authentic Thai in the middle of 'Thai-Town'. Quality ingredients and friendly staff with both eat in and takeaway available.
Next door is Pontip which is the best Thai supermarket in Sydney and has everything you might need for coming at home.
They lose a star because the portion sizes seem to have got smaller recently.
