Review Bengong Black - Sydney

Had the Honeydew melon super cup and found it quite underwhelming. Lacked flavour and needed sweetness. For $10 it's a reasonable size and has fresh pieces of fruit inside. Just not my cup of tea

I used to love coming to Bengong to get a strawberry yogurt smoothie where you can mix it. I asked the staff at this Bengong to explain the differences in their strawberry drinks listed. Very unhelpful and curt. I said no to the Yakult crush as I wanted yogurt in it. I got it anyway and it has jelly in it, how am I supposed to know it has jelly when it doesn’t say anything in English? Nah, never again.

Consistent good quality drinks and pastries. Can't go wrong with any choice. Only sadness is when a product is not available.

Enjoyed the iced lychee drink. It has fresh bits of lychee in it and the size is decent. The service was fast and friendly. It’s on the pricy side ($8 from memory). Haven’t tried the breads.

You may use a smaller cup if you cannot fill the whole tea cup. Last time I said I would still order from you guys through phone but this is the last time I ever order from youuuuu 🙃🙃🙃🙃seriously you don’t want to give your customer like even 15ml of the tea and sell it to them for like 12 dollars?

An Asian bakery/ Bubble tea dessert place that offer a good selection of freshly baked goods. The bread is soft and fluffy and the cakes are cute and delicious. I like their range of bubble tea/ Yogurt drinks and smoothies.

Bread was stale and old. Tried the taro mochi and seafood cheese bread, the dough was dry, hard and the filling tasted sour. Honestly felt like the bread has been sitting there for a few days. Customer service was nonexistent. Staff failed to acknowledge us, even when paying they didn't say a single word to us. Not even a thank you. If you open a business in Australia, at least have the courtesy to learn some English.

This little desert shop is tucked away in Haymarket, Chinatown. Bengong Tea has modern and interior, with bright neon lights shining throughout the entire shop.

The shop caters ice cream, milk tea, thick shakes, cakes, and different range of pastries (similar to S-bread and 85 degrees). We had the cheesecake which was very rich and delicious. The lychee shake with cheese foam was refreshing. The breads on display are expensive, but if you buy 2, they give you 1 for free.

Seatings are very limited. Service could be improved. Pricing is relatively reasonable.

Always run out of the soy drink!!! No matter how early/late I went they don’t have it! Seriously why are you even advertising it outside the shop if you never have it. And the service is crap!! The girl with short hair always look angry

It was my first time ordering a drink at Bengong Black. I ordered an Lychee Aloe Fresh Tea. I took a sip of the drink and noticed that the worker made my drink incorrect and as it tasted like grapefruit drink even though the sticker on my bottle said “Lychee Aloe Fresh”. I went back to the store and kindly advise the worker that she made a mistake on making my order, requested if she can remake my drink and pointed out on the sticker my correct order. The worker yelled back and said “why did you drink it?” At this stage I don’t know what the drink look like and the only way I knew it was incorrect was by tasting it. The worker proceed to remake the drink furiously where she barely mixed the drink in the mixer (literally mixed it for one second). She then proceed to pour the drink in the bottle and she did not even bother wiping down which was covered in tea all over the side. I had to personally wiped down myself. She snatched the drink that was made incorrectly and slammed the drink in the bin in front of me. The worker did not even bother apologising for her error. This was one of the worst customer service I had ever experienced. It was my first and will NOT be returning back. The way the worker handle the situation was not acceptable. This is very poor behaviour and was very unprofessional.

📍Ben Gong Black, 91 Harbour Street, Haymarket NSW 2000
•
WUWU BLACK PEARL MILK TEA
AUD$6.80 (Regular)
•
I truly recommend this place if you are a sweet tooth. Their milktea is very nice, its not too sweet. The boba is chewy and sweet. This is a place to hangout with your friends, very aesthetic and there are quite a lot of tables. There are some patisseries as well, it acts as a companion for your drinks.
•
#milk #milktea #milkteaaddict #boba #bobamilktea #bobatea #bobatime #desserts #drink #drinks #instadaily #instagood #instafood #foodphotography #foodstagram #drinkstagram #drinksofinstagram #bubbletea #bubbletea

I really love the brown sugar milk tea with pearls!!! And the strawberry yoghurt drink!!! It’s just so perfect on a hot summer day! Also if you’re craving for sweets, their cakes and sweet breads with fruits are amazing!

They had an extensive range of drinks from the now popular rice yoghurt drinks, to cheese foam and black sugar pearl drinks etc. I tried the bengong soft serve because I was curious about what was in it, it was basically mango and vanilla swirl.

The mango soft serve was really good, it had so many things including grapefruit and sago.

I haven't tried their bakery items yet.

This is my favourite Asian bakeries in Chinatown / Haymarket. They have a range of breads in different but tasty flavours. The best part is that it’s super soft. My favourites are the brown sugar mochi bread and the taro and pork floss bread. The salted egg custard bread and the wasabi egg bread are also really good.

As well as the baked goods, they also have a range of iced tea and pearl milk tea drinks. The everspring oolong with cheese foam and pearl milk teas are my go-to beverages. Another great dessert option are their soft serves and sundaes. They have seasonal flavours like strawberry and mango but a permanent item is the wuwu sundae which is really really good. There is limited seating at the store so takeaway is the best option.

What a cute place to come to for dessert and drinks. We ordered the strawberry yoghurt drink which had real strawberries (not just syrup). The drink was creamy, thick and delicious. It came in a cute jar which you can reuse. However a little expensive $7.80 for a small size.

We mainly come here for the teas and Asian drinks. Love the deluxe and premium feel of the shop and the quality of the drinks are great. Particularly interesting is the yogurt/tea drinks which are a combination of, you guessed it, yogurt and tea. You get the creamy sourness of the yogurt paired with nice floral notes of tea. Other noteworthy things are the cheese foam recipe here, creamy with rich flavour.

What I love from the picture below is only the Strawberry Cheezo. It feels so refreshing and the cheese is not too thick. While for the Bengong Fresh, I don’t find anything special with this drink and I feel like I’m only drinking infused water. The oreo bread is pretty cheap for a big size ($5) but the texture is a bit hard.
