I like the fact that Lanzhou focuses on beef only. Not pork, not chicken, not veggies, just beef. It makes them look confident, and Braised beef noodle and Handmade beef dumplings were very pleasant to eat. The noodles were handmade so it was easy to get a nice noodle pull shot. I give this place 4 bears
Such are the joys of the modern world that there are always new dishes to discover. And while, I have heard of beef noodle soup, and have tried some variations before, I haven’t ever specifically paid attention to Lanzhou Beef Noodles. There’s even a wikipedia entry! As far as I can tell, the elements (of the most famous variety they serve: I asked for the favourite dish, with the favourite width of noodles) are: clear soup, clean white radish, red chilli oil, green coriander and yellow noodles.
Noodles were amazing, staff was helpful in explaining the different noodle options. The fact that it's a quality restaurant that is also halal means that I will be returning way more often!
Delicious Lanzhou beef noodle! The broth isn't so salty like some places so I emptied the bowl. I recommend a bit of vinegar to added to it. The beef soaked in the broth is super tender.
The cold dish marinated beef is essentially the same beef they put in the noodle but having it cold wasn't wise. Rather bland and tough. I soaked it in hot broth to restore it's glory.
The zhajiang noodle is fantastic when hot, lots of veg sauce! Fermented oat is refreshing and sweet. Strongly recommend!
Good place to have noodles at and the feel is quite clean. They had some enticing fried bread but Xihuahua 🐶 slapped the idea out of my head figuratively speaking.

A very surprising find with an equally surprising outcome. So why were we here, we basically just got a recommendation to try this place out and I mean it did take a bit of arm turning cause this just really our place...well not our first choice :)
So the end result my gosh was that beef noodles good! Like the clear soup - even though it was polluted by coriander still very enjoyable. I mean picking them out wasn’t but still. The noodles were also quite special, we’d believe these were hand made as there was something about its texture and how the gluten had developed that just made it not your average store bought affair.
Finally the lamb dish, my gawd did I enjoy this. I really love lamb ribs and lamb ribs are well so troublesome to cook but here lamb cravings satisfied!
We will definitely be here again, I mean we almost went there tonight but sadly it was just too far away for our hungry/borderline Godzilla like condition, scientifically called “hangry” to well make it there...tomorrow night maybe??

So, expect beef slice was quite fat, everything else met my expectation - extremely thin noddles and less-salty soup.
My friend chose second thinnest noddles which is a good choice too!

Came here when the place literally just opened. I can’t remember what we ordered, it was a bit of a rush as the waiters guided us to the counter and got us to choose from the photo menu! Whatever we had, it was great... almost like a Chinese spaghetti and mince. The noodle were delicious but my only critique is that they were all stuck together and difficult to mix with the mince as a result. Otherwise the taste was on point.
Best beef noodle in Sydney CBD, definitely worth it.
Come here almost every day since.
Staff is super friendly as well. The noodles is super Q and they are not stingy on their beef as well.
