Reading previous reviews there seems to be some inconsistency in the past. However during my visit a few weeks ago we had some very delicious food (some negatives but overall still quite impressed). We had their Chef Special Bavarian Platter and their pork belly. Pork knuckles were very well executed: flavours, textures, moisture, tenderness, crispy skin... all checked! German sausages were okay, chicken schnitzel was tender, meatloaf was slightly dry, gravy was generic, mash was nice, and presentation was great. Pork belly had good flavours however it was too dry, tough and had chewy skin (waaay below average: huge disappointment)... my guess is these two dishes were cooked by two different chefs. Beer was excellent, basically couldn't have enough! Views, landscaping and outside decorations was gorgeous and relaxing with a small chapel and a little pontoon for weddings and special functions (great place for wedding photos). Decor inside the restaurant had very nice attention to detail with friendly staff and waiters/waitresses; one looked a little grumpy maybe because it was a busy full-house and it was a steaming hot day. Overall experience despite of some disappointment on several aspects of the food, I rate them a solid 8/10. Will I return? Yes definitely, for sure! Just hoping the consistency is the same next time ;)

I'm pretty much in agreement with the other reviews: the food here is good and the portions definitely don't leave you hungry. I've taken my partner, my family and others here and always been happy with it. The food is deliciously German. The pork knuckles were comically large - and the jäger schnitzel meant I had chicken-sweats for hours.

Where I diverge from other reviews is that I'm loathe to bemoan the price. Most places in Tamborine aren't cheap, and so on a local scale the food is pretty much average price. That's tourist areas for you.

Great atmosphere and hearty food. Seemed a little pricy, but the location is fantastic. I had the pork schnitzel and it was very good Bavarian cooking. I only wish is that it was veal. The sausages are quite expensive.

Food was incredible, restaurant was odd in a good quirky way. We shared a Bavarian Platter between two of us and it was just like eating great food in Europe. Only 2 available beers, both genuine German. A little pricey but If you’re Hungary and want a meaty dinner this is the place for you!

Great good, good price and good quantity, friendly staff. Beautifully set up, quaint German style. Odd Xmas decorations. Wonderful seating overlooking a pond. Would return and recommend.

Food was delicious! Beer was great! Friendly staff, quick meal. Cannot complain about it! The entire place was very cute but needs a good clean, was just dirty and dusty inside but totally worth our meal! Very happy!

This place gets an unfairly bad rep for some reason... We had a great meal here. $190 feast for 4 fed 5 adults and 2 kids plenty, pork knuckle, pork belly, sausages, schnitzel, rib etc etc which were all delicious and set within an authentic beautiful venue! I definitely recommend the banquet for a good mix of dishes and value.
