Review The Pig And Tinder Box - Tamworth

Excellent service, food was nice and atmosphere was very good. Honey pizza bread was good but would prefer a bit more honey flavour to come through. Grandiose platter was very nice and more than enough for two. Definitely will visit again

Totally impressed with the experience we had here. Exceptional service from the start, wonderful setting and some damn fine food. A true asset to Tamworth's dining scene.

We booked outdoors seating but because today was so hot and we got there at 5pm, we asked to switch to inside seating, which the waiter kindly assisted. The exterior and interior of the building are both pretty good. Food was good too and portions were generous. We have Paella and a ‘roasted roots vegetables’. Too bad I didn’t realise Onion fell in the latter category!

Had the lamb salad tonight with and a bottle of the redbank pinot Noir. Absolutely delicious. Had the best experience sitting outside with the most welcoming customer service. Will be back again! And again 🥂

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Service staff turned up at just the right moment each time we needed them to. Really nice place for a date.

Atmosphere is great. Service was good from wait staff but the kitchen let them down. The mains came almost 45m late and the steak I ordered was good and went dry. Something went wrong there. The entrees we had we're beautifully though and brought out timely

Pretty average food- lots of deep fried food. On the food that wasn’t deep fried it was pooling oil on my plate. Not much flavour besides sauce. Fish on tacos was gross. Pork tacos were lacking in flavour. Service was good. A bit overpriced for what you got. Expected more as previously they’ve performed much better in the food department.

I would highly recommend the pig and tinder, the food was 5 star, full of flavour, presented beautifully, the staff where spot on for service. A must place to eat in Tamworth. Spread the word 😘

We, as a group of 20 went to the Pig and Tinderbox on Friday night without a booking. The staff were more than happy to accommodate us and they were very welcoming. After being seated the wait staff were very attentive and the food was constant. The menu choices were excellent and the food was to die for. The staff were more than happy to cater for dietary requirements in our group. Thank you for a memorable evening.

I don't normally write reviews but we had a fantastic meal here on Friday night. The service is sensational and the new autumn menu is terrific. They proudly use local produce and the selection is terrific. It can get a little loud inside on a busy night but the front deck and tables are terrific and the staff make sure you're not forgotten. Elegant and easy food with prompt and friendly service, great atmosphere. This place is a real gem.

There often seems to be an inverse relationship between how beautiful the architecture is, and how good the food is, at restaurants housed in fancy digs; but that’s not the case at The Pig and Tinder Box. Despite being located in Tamworth’s rather grand old bank building, erected in 1892 as the Bank of NSW but more recently occupied by the ANZ Bank, The Pig and Tinder Box don’t rest upon their fine architectural bones. Sitting somewhere between a pub, a boutique bar and an all-day eatery, The Pig is a Harvest Hotels property. Headed up by Chris Cornforth and Fraser Haughton, this hotelier group focuses upon regional pubs, currently controlling a range of properties across Tamworth and Yass. We’re lured in for brunch on the wide, airy front balcony with a...

A funky bar and restaurant right in the middle of Tamworth. The service staff were helpful and accommodating. The menu had a decent range of options available. The arancini was delicious, as were the dumplings. Pizzas were very good. They have lots of deals throughout the week including cheap jugs of cocktails on weekends. Make sure you book a table to avoid disappointment.

Great place to come for dinner and drinks. Very helpful and friendly staff. Food was quick, delicious and very reasonably priced. Would love to come back again 😀

Set in an old bank building, at night when lit up it really sets the scene with high ceilings. Came here as a group of 8. The menu consisted of sharing plates and also individual servings. The waiter suggested we do a group share for $40. Easy, done! Fast game is a good game I always say.

Next I sampled the local beers on tap, the ladies ordered a bottle of Sauv Blanc and a bottle of Piper. Unfortunately we were told later that they ran out of Piper but ‘would be happy to go down to the bottlo. I would have thought they would have just done that without getting us involved as they would have made a decent profit from it still.

There also a nice area outside to have drinks, beautifully lit with candles.

Makes you feel like you are back in the Colonial period.
The food comes out one by one on sharing plates. Octopus on bed of fruit and veg. Bit tasteless and Gould be more tender. Pork belly- good. Rubbed chicken - also tasty,

I didn't know what to expect and thought it was a great for a light lunch. I had a salad it was really fresh and had plenty of flavour. Nice meal.

Lovely venue, both outside and in. Friendly staff (common throughout Tamworth) and high quality food. Serves are generous. I had the fig and quinoa said which was a delight. Would definitely come back.

Great food and service. Haven taken large groups of clients here and have always shared excellent tapas and pizza (with great beer and wine also)

The place and meal looked great. I had the haloumi salad and I thought the flavours were off. Overall, it's a nice place but overpriced for the meal quality.

Love this place! The staff are so friendly, the pizzas are the best in town (hands down!) and the atmosphere is fun yet relaxing. Highly recommend for dinner and drinks.

Fantastic surprise in the middle of what is seemingly nowhere! Very groovy menu and a pretty strong wine list to compliment. The staff were exceptionally attentive and the food tasted as good as it looked on the plate!
In addition to this the building itself allows for a lovely ambiance.
A must visit while in Tamworth.
Visited with friends on a Sunday evening. Really chilled out setting, great playlist, and looked like an awesome menu - but a lot of it wasn't available. When we ordered the waitress said she would have to check if what we ordered was still available; not very impressive.

The woodfired pizzas turned up and they were delish. We would have liked dessert but we waited and waited for someone to clear our mains and offer dessert menus and it just never happened. We paid our bill and had dessert elsewhere.

The food we had was worth a 5, but service majorly lacking. The place wasn't busy, no excuses really.

The Pig & Tinder Box is an exciting new bar/restaurant in Tamworth. The historic bank building has lovingly been transformed and it's great to see life back in this building after sitting empty for some time.

The "lychee cares" cocktails were delicious, as were the wood-fire pizzas. The tapas style menu allows for guests to never have menu envy (something I always have when eating out!).. On the tapas menu, definitely recommend the beef tacos & duck dishes! Only whinge is that the soft shell crab & dumplings were amazing the first time we visited, but not as yum the second time? Will have to try a third time!

Overall, an exciting new destination in Tamworth! Well done boys!

Bruce Donnelly. Just what Tamworth needs a place other than a hotel for the 20 - 35 age group to mix. It's market is a style of person well presented to met others of the same outlook, fresh, presentable, interesting, conversant and friendly.

The experience of the proprietors was evident in their service and efficiency. They arrived with a food and venue culture similar to successful restaurants and tapas bars in Orange and Sydney.
