Review Calala Tavern - Tamworth

"Best pub food in Tamworth." Everyone I've spoken to says the same thing about the Calala Inn. Their portions are large, so if you clean your plate you may want to wait a few days before writing your review. The staff are amazing. We had a blast and they made our family gathering feel like a party. Great menu, excellent beer selection, and well worth the trip from any part of Tamworth or the New England region.

We had been told by a few people that the food was good and today we decided to try ourselves. First of all, every staff member was very friendly and helpful. We ordered our meals and they came out quickly. The food was delicious and the serves very big . We couldn't fault anything about our first visit and have decided a second visit is definitely coming up soon. It's so good to know you have a decent place to visit when you wish to eat out. Thanks to all staff 😊

Food taste average, big portions, good customer service, and cheap price

Very friendly, helpful staff and an all round great venue. While I would have preferred the meal to be a little hotter, it was nonetheless absolutely delicious. Great sirloin steak accompanied by vegetables cooked to perfection. Thanks 😊.

Well presented, staff really doing a fabulous job completely off their feet. Food and sweets were well received but a little on the expensive side for families. Maybe a kids deal that includes icecream etc.

A little bit off the beaten track this pub had a nice ambience, friendly staff and a good patronage. The roast lamb was great but Keno, sucked ! 😃

Our group of 11 arrived to a full car park, and a very busy venue. Due to the layout of the Inn it was still a comfortable space. Amazingly our meals arrived in a timely fashion, generous portion sizes and good quality. Considering how busy it was all staff stayed focused in control and pleasant. Congratulations to the management and staff you were under a lot of pressure and delivered a great customer experience.

I just finished having my engagement party there and had the best time! The staff were fantastic, very professional and nothing was too much trouble to be organised for myself or my guest! Everyone commented on the food on how nice it was! I would recommend to anyone wanting to have a function held there!! You won't be disappointed!

Had a family function, Staff are fabulous, Meal was delicious and quick service and the pub was packed with people, Highly recommend Calala Inn.

I have eaten pub food of course however this pub has sped one a fantastic job with their menu. They have created an atmosphere that is a pub and restaurant. This is a bench mark I believe others should take notice of.

Thank you to the team at Calala Inn for a wonderful night in the function room for our dad’s surprise 50th birthday party. Will was wonderful to work with and was at all times professional, welcoming and kind. The room was set up perfectly, was warm and private and a very reasonable price. The food came quickly and was delicious. We won’t hesitate to book again in the future!

The meal was yum service great the staff very friendly and was much quieter than our night out at the club for dinner recently.

Had dinner tonight - meal and service excellent. Am in Tamworth regularly for work and usually go to another well known hotel for dinner, but Calala as good, if not better, cheaper prices and not so busy. Was with 2 others and all meals great sizes and great taste. Nice one Calala - will be back . Thank you

Fantastic meal. Steak cooked as I asked for, with our second meal the ribs were falling off the bone and super tender. So pleased this place was recommended to us. Will definately be back next time we are passing through. Thankyou.

My Husband and I atteded a wedding here recently and were very plesantly surprised. The meals were delicious,big and served to the table.We were worried that the place looked busy that it would maybe impact on our service. Not at all. Staff were very plesant,and helpful. We had a family reunion with a lot of people and Calala Inn was perfect. We had a great night, the food was fantastic and they dealt with the sheer number of us really well. Staff were friendly and helpful and a great location for a function.

We organised a surprise birthday lunch for over 26 people from out of town. The staff were wonderful. Everything was organised when we arrived and the food was cooked well and served promptly. A big thumbs up to Calala Inn!
