Review The Square Man Inn - Tamworth

Very disappointed birthday dinner experience. We ordered medium rare Steak. But served like this. I paid $44 on this called “Shore N sea” or something. When I talked to staff. Just only sorry. Will not go again. ——- Update: From your reply you mentioned that when staff took my plate away I said nothing. That’s because she took my Starter plates and main still in cooking so how can I tell. You can check your Video that waitress didn’t come back for review after serving our mains. Anyway, the steak was over cooked, this is truth I was just stating what happened to us. but from your reply I couldn’t find any apologies about it. Your customer did nothing wrong.

Very rustic and aesthetically pleasing. Lots of decorations. In a bit of a busy area, but the sound is kept out well. Bit crammed in the front dining area (at least), but always had lovely staff. The lunch menu is a bit fancier than your average pub or cafe, with 8 items for a cheap $12 lunch. The food was very fresh and beautifully cooked.

Have been there before and has been good but very disappointed last visit. Went for lunch and not a lot of people there and waited 45 min after ordering lunch and no meals. Asked the waitress where our lunches were and 8 min later she comes back and tells us they will be 15 min. When you only get an hour for lunch this does not work so left and went hungry. If I had been told there was only one chef on at the beginning and there would be a delay I could have gone elsewhere. Not happy but will go again as the food is good. Just pissed off as I don't have lunch with my wife often and this happens

Lovely old place with lots of history. Efficient service but the food... there were two other couples plus our table of five so not very busy. One of our meals was completely wrong and the ‘tomato sauce’ that came with the pasta dishes had a distinct whiff of pre-prepared sauces from Latina or Barilla. The pasta had quite obviously been pre-cooked then nuked in a microwave. Very underwhelming, sadly.

I had the captain veal. It was just to die for. I was so full but I did finish. Soooo delicious. Definitely going back.,service was also very good. I contributed a bit of history of the old building that they weren’t aware of. I used to visit that place with my nanny, her friend sally lived there for years. I just can’t remember her last name.
