How good is Carlucci today. Since Anthony sold it about 9yrs ago it went down hill. First time back since then and it was amazing.
We had Ben service us tonight and his customer service was the best I have experienced in a long time.
The food servings even filled a 140kg person like myself. The whole three course meal was full of flavour and cooked to perfection.
Thanks for a great dining experience a great meal 11/10
Love this place always enjoy the meals, staff are lovely. Our waitress last night was the delightful Cathy. So helpful and welcoming, best place to eat in Templestowe.
Even my cousins that live at Carrum Downs love it.
We never look at the menu. Order the same yummy food each visit.
I think if you want to go out to eat and enjoy a good veriety of foods, like pasta, pizza, steaks, rissoto, and chicken done the Italian way after a nice entre and followed by home made desert's. Then Carluci's is the place to go. Add freindly service and not over priced like most. This place needs to be in Lygon St.
Great service, awesome meals.
I can not say anything but great things about the staff.
Everyone of the staff we dealt we with where very professional and extremely helpful.

Wonderful food and a wonderful team giving beautiful Italian food to each person and a great variety from salads to seafood to pizza and meat. Price pointed competitively well done Carluccies!

The food is excellent and tasty. The service is great which is why I keep going there. But the acustics are terrible. Too noisy. Needs some serious sound absorption decore installed. When l'm at a restaurant I like to be to talk with my guests. VERY few restaurants cater for this.
Both the food and table service get a huge tick from us,polite staff who went out of their way to explain the menu and make sure we felt spoiled. We will definitely be back as before.
I’ve been here so many times, food is quiete average however service is nice. Coffee wasn’t too bad. A good spot for the family to get together

Okay, this is a brief review about the coffee. Went there yesterday to meet someone and the most delightful waiter came and took my order. He was polite, friendly and my order came quickly. My friend arrived and the same treatment for him.
We were there around 90 minutes and once we were checked on to see if we needed anything and we ordered more coffee. So they were discreet.
Coffee was great. If I had to be picky, the cups were small, but heck, the coffee was great.
Even when we went in to pay, they were so genuinely friendly people who seemed to love their work and their work colleagues.
I will go back agaqin.
Great go-to place to fulfill your Italian cravings. Decent food at decent prices. It does not taste as authentic as other italian places in terms of the pasta but for what its worth, it taste great! Only thing i didnt like was the roudy ambience and cramped space as it is always busy and noisy when I am there. Will be back definitely.
The meals are substantial and fresh. The wait staff are friendly and happy to have a bit of a laugh.
A delicious Italian restaurant & café in Templestowe that offers all your delicious classics plus more! With the sun shining and an aperol spritz in the hand I’m in heaven!
To accompany with this stunning space the food was next level delicious! The pasta & meatballs were juicy and the sauce was phenomenal! The seafood pasta was also amazing, generous serving of seafood! Desserts to follow were generous in size accompanied with lots of flavour & textures!
If you’re in the area definitely check it out, you won’t be disappointed ❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome food and great service!Went here for breakfast on my birthday and got the most delicious breakfast burger on a charcoal bun - yes please! Was extremely delicious and a great start to the day!
Carlucci's is one of those restaurants where you instantly feel at home because the staff are just like family. We instantly felt welcome in this lovely venue. It's a huge space with lots of tables inside, as well as plenty of seating outside. It was quite busy, but service was still really good, and our waiter was very friendly.
We enjoyed some fantastic coffee to start, and a mango smoothie that was deliciously creamy. The ambience was cosy despite the large space, and I liked the decor.
Starting with the wild mushrooms, a huge dish of sauteed mushrooms atop toasted bread, with wilted greens, poached eggs and plenty of grated cheese. The medley of mushrooms were really tasty and the eggs were cooked perfectly. There was a great deal of flavour in this dish and we really enjoyed it.
The French toast that followed was sublime. Custard filled brioche was fried to crispy, with a generous serve of icecream, custard, fruit and nuts. The fairy floss on top was a fun addition. This French toast literally melted in the mouth and was superb. Not too sweet, the delicious custard was delicious and again, this was a generous sized plate. I could happily eat this again and again, as the flavours really appealed to my sweet tooth.
Templestowe isn't in my back yard, but it was well worth the visit to dine at Carlucci's as the service was fantastic, the ambience was friendly and the food was comfort food at it's best. I think I will be visiting Carlucci's again, before too long.
Thank you for hosting us.
Carlucci is an institution for after dinner coffee and desserts. The staff are on top of things when it comes to customer service.
My fiance's favorite dessert is the apple crumble.

This cafe has been in Templestowe for over 20 years! Such a local icon & I'm very glad I've been able to try it.
The cafe feels so homely. I felt very comfortable in the inside and outside spaces.
I enjoyed a really nice coffee before my meal.
Eggs Benny: Wow, this meal was an amazing eggs benedict! The hollandaise was creay, the egg was poached perfectly (nice and runny yolk), the pulled pork was juicy and flavoursome. Overall, an amazing dish
Wild mushrooms: My friend ordered this dish, but she enjoyed it thoroughly.
Mango juice: After my meal, I had some sweet, fresh mango juice
Creme brûlée: This was a sweet, sweet dish which I enjoyed so much. There was a crack from the burnt sugar on top, and the inside was creamy and rich.
The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The food came out in good time.
This is a cafe I'd definitely come back to, and enjoy spending the day here working or spending time with friends.
such a beautiful local restaurant around Templestowe, been around for so long! i have been a customer to Carlucci’s for a long time now and this is the best i have ever seen it, Carlucci’s has really stepped up it’s game!
i usually come for lunch and get the risotto marinara (my favourite, can’t get passed it!) but this time i had brunch! such a wonderful breakfast menu they have, amazing options! i tried the Wild Mushroom dish and it was to die for! the flavours were insane and presentation of the dish was beautiful. In the past i have tried the Eggs Benny which is also a stand out dish, that pork has a stunning flavour to it!
i have also been for dinner and absolutely LOVE the salmon!!!! most crispy and flavoursome salmon i have ever had! this is a must try!
the dessert and coffee game is strong as well, being an Italian restaurant they really nailed the coffee and beautiful desserts! I tried the Coconut and Mango Yuzu dome, which was such a beautiful flavour combo, also really love the Ricotta cake!
i love Carlucci’s and will always be back for more!
This humble Italian restaurant that boasts a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a local icon that’s been in Templestowe the past 20 years!
This place isn’t trying to something it’s not, it holds its old values of proving good food and coffee for their locals and welcomes all new visitors who come across Melbourne for this classic Italian/Melbourne cafe experience.
We were greeted by kind staff who were supper accommodating to provide us seating outside. We enjoyed their delicious eggs benny, served on a brioche bun with herb hollandaise. Probably my favourite dish!
We also had this really yummy avo smashed that was a take on the classic which has corn on the cob, goats cheese and lots of delicious herbs! A real stunner!
But I can’t go past their sweets! Their famous French toast with seasonal berries and Golden Gay time icecream was sooo delicious! Great dish to share or devour in your own!
Definitely check this place out!
Used to come here when I was a kid and it never fails to disappoint - classic old school menu with a huge variety - good food and service is always friendly 😊

We loved our experience at Carlucci's! It was great to try the new breakfast/brunch menu.
I tried BOTH vegan options, lucky me :) The SUPERFOOD BREAKFAST was sooo fresh and filling, with lots of green veg, avocado, cashew cream, and toast. Super nourishing. The VEGAN PORRIDGE was so beautifully presented, and such a generous serving size. The taro poached pear on top was a highlight!
The team is super friendly, and the coffee was good too. There is plenty of space in the restaurant, great for big family dinners or functions!
Would love to go back and experience the dinner menu too!
Recently had lunch here for the first time, and was very pleased to have found this restaurant. Great selection of dishes on offer at quite reasonable prices. Atmosphere was welcoming and the food presented well. Friendly staff add to the enjoyable experience. Will be adding to my list of regular eateries.
I’ve been going to carluccis ever since I was a child. I’ve grown up in the area & for any occasion we would always go here. The staff have always been friendly & have a great variety of food options. So there is something for everyone. They also have heaps of seating inside & out. The outside even has heaters so you are always toasty warm even in winter. The other day I got the chicken Parma plus ham. Oh my goodness it was the biggest Parma I have ever seen. It had a great amount of cheese & ham on it, succulent chicken & was just delicious. My friend & I ate the whole thing & the waitress told us not many men can finish it 😂 we definitely left satisfied. Always will love going to Carluccis.
I was in the area and this place caught my eye. I’m happy I made the choice to dine here because the menu was amazing! So hard to choose...
I had the ROASTED MUSHROOM with salsa verde, black tahini and sourdough. Couldn’t say no to a side of grilled haloumi - this made the perfect addition. I loved this dish. Everything was perfectly seasoned, beautiful flavours, generous portions.
And also got the EGGS BENNY with melt in the mouth pulled pork, spicy hollandaise and salsa.
I was secretly wanting this because it just looked so amazing!
Coffee was deliciously smooth and rich.
Will be coming here again to have a taste of everything else on offer.
Absolutely love this place some of the staff have me a little on edge with professionalism but other than that, the food is marvellous but i feel as if there needs to be a change with the menu a little bit😕
Service was really good and we enjoyed our meals. The main drawback was all the noise as it was busy. It was hard to hear the person you are having a conversation with, and you also have to raise your voice for your friend to hear you, so I actually had a little bit of a sore throat from that. Otherwise it's an alright place to eat.
Was just winging it for a week night dinner out somewhere new but was very delighted to be served this amazing pizza! I look forward to coming here again even though it’s a long way from home.
Carlucci's is one if my favorite brunch cafes on this side of town. Great vibe, friendly staff and generous delious food put this place at the very top of my list. Could get slightly busy on the weekends but worth the wait. See you guys next time 👌
This is a great family restaurant, pizza, pasta, great selection of mains, large cake display and licensed. It it open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, cakes and coffee etc. call in but you will need a booking Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. There is a large outside area for you to bring your fur baby, heated and sheltered.
The service is second to none and the food is fantastic and fast, it is our favorite Italian restaurant by far and we eat there at least weekly!
Second leg of a catch up with old friends. We moved on from the local pub to here on a recommendation. This is a largish suburban Italian restaurant. I’d call it comfort food they serve here. My marinara pizza reminded me of the good ones I used to eat in the old days out in the ‘burbs. Nothing fancy about it but plenty of good tomato sauce and ample seafood and expertly cooked. A seriously good old style pizza. Not gourmet, not wood fired, just old style with crusts you loved to finish. I really liked it. The other dishes at the table were good too and there were lots of nods all round. They also make a great coffee here. Mine was a beauty. A final compliment for the servers here tonight especially the older lady who mainly attended to us. The service was fantastic. Brisk, efficient, friendly and at times, witty. It helped make for a very nice night. As I wandered off to go home I began to reflect on how little I really knew. The chances of me coming to a place like this without a special occasion and being wedged into going we’re probably zero. It would have been my loss.
Came here for brunch with my beautiful mum and it was perfect, the food was delicious! I used to rate this place a 1 awhile ago. They have definitely improved their game. Yumm 😁

Could not be better for a family birthday. Gabriell welcomed us for Sunday lunch and he arranged drinks and meals on seperate bills. Waitress Marta set the standard with prompt friendly service. Very busy but still managed to please all seventeen people with Barramundi, lamb, huge chicken parma to feed hungry young men. Youngsters loved there milkshakes and large child meals. This is old fashioned great service and made us feel important. A big thank you.
Food here is always tasty and served quite quickly. Had a few birthdays here and all food ordered was fantastic. Great place for a tasty but well priced Italian meal.
Good place for a tasty casual meal. Step above a la porchetta, and food is better as well. Plenty of seating, but does get busy so best to book at peak times. Have tried a few dishes from here and have not had a bad one yet.
Went today for the first time In years. Ordered pasta and pizza to share.
Firstly service was not too bad friendly and very prompt.
Pizza was decent the base was a little like a purchased pizza dough which was undercooked but nonetheless the toppings were generous. The pasta was also fairly tasty and would be comparable to a la porchetta pizza and pasta meal.
Overall for a few drinks and 2 mains came out to $50 which is fairly reasonable I would say.
Decor definitely should be upgraded some time soon however.
Carluccis has always been a convenient meeting point for friends living on the eastern side of Melbourne. Offering a choice between eating I side or alfresco dining, the outside provides a better choice with good ambience and protection from the outside elements. At places like this the food is generally described as generous but probably more accurately described as huge. The bruchetta was an entree that could double as a main and the chicken parmigiana could feed a small family. Pastas here are also of a good quality. Price wise for two people we spent $75 which included drinks. The staff are always friendly in my experience and I will Co tinted to frequent this place.
Best food and service! My friends and I go here quite often, staff are very lovely and the food is amazing definitely worth going here. Good environment too, good for family's and have heaters outside if you want to sit out there too! Would recommend.

Lovely Italian, family run business in the heart of Templestowe.
I ordered home made gnocchi which was meltingly delicious.
Carlucci's has a very large selection of pizza, pasta, salads & more on its menu. You can eat inside or try a table under cover outside.
Visit for warm, friendly service & traditional food.
Great place, service and food. Always really busy here but the staff are on top of everything :) Big serves as well yum! Another plus is that it is open late!
My new favourite place in my hood. This place is a very family friendly environment. The pizza is pretty mediocre however the pastas here are amazing. The pasta is so well cooked, al dente and it is so robust in flavour.
Great place to dine it it, food always tastes fresh with generous portions-and given how pleasant the staff are its not suprising that the restaurant is always busy!
We have been visiting Carlucci's since 2009, and to sum it up in one word - sensational!
The customer service is second to none, with the staff making you feel welcome from the moment you set foot in the door. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe, making for a fantastic dining experience.
The menu has such a wide variety of options to cater all tastes, from pizza, pasta, seafood and mains. Highly recommend the oysters kilpatrick for entree (have not had better anywhere else!) while the barramundi for main is a must!
If you haven't tried Carlucci's, you simply must - an absolute delight, and a pleasure to dine at!
This is a great restaurant/cafe. A huge menu to choose from. The staff are attentive and prompt. They cater fairly well for children. This place will please everyone you are going with as there is so much choice.
Tried Carlucci's for the first time last Friday night and loved every aspect of it. The place was busy but staff were still friendly and service was efficient.
We ordered the calamari, a risotto and lamb pizza. Everything was flavorful and fresh tasting. We ended the night with the Nutella Calzone to share between 4 and it was amazing - warm with oozing Nutella, it wasn't overly sweet and it was just the best thing to end a lovely dinner. Food was reasonably priced at around $15-20 per dish.
Loved my experience at Carlucci's, we would definitely recommend and be back for more.
Without a doubt Carlucci's is fantastic and has been consistently good every time we dine there. Cannot fault the food, it's delicious. The service is always spot-on no matter how busy they are. Templestowe is so lucky!
I just went here with a friend for a drink and something sweet. When we got here the staff were welcoming and they turned the heaters on for us outside. My friend ordered a strong flat white coffee and she liked it. I ordered camomile tea which was lipton I think, nothing special. When I went to pay I wanted a cannoli but they had vanilla and chocolate custard in them. I'm trying to cut down on chocolate so they made me one with just vanilla custard. It was so yummy, the custard was delicious and not a weird texture like you get at some places and the shell was crispy. I love cannoli.
Good coffee and good food! Really nice outdoor seating arrangement with heaters so you can sit outside and eat with a warm indoor feel. The staff are lovely and there is a real sense of community here, everyone seems to know eachother by name! I would reccomend here highly reccomend the berry pancakes if you have a sweet tooth like me! ;)
Good old fashioned brekkie with the ladies! Scrambled eggs and poached eggs yum. Veggie breakfast. Ham. Crispy bacon. Hollandaise. Coffees and juices. Great work. My friend was disappointed that they did not have almond milk so maybe that can be something to add onto the menu seeing it's growing popularity!
We live local so often come here when we are feeling too lazy to make the trek to Hawthorn. We've only ever had lovely meals and service here. I love the that the menu is huge and you have plenty of choice, the food always comes out quickly and the coffee is good. I probably wouldn't go back for their breakfast menu too soon, having ordered the yogurt/muesli/fresh fruit/honey cup I think its a tad over priced when the only fruit was a couple of strawberries and then honey isn't actually incorporated its just one of those little sachets you'd get on school camp. That would be my only complaint. Their prawns are always perfectly cooked and sauces are full of flavor. Also their vanilla custard slice is well worth a try.
PS. I love the old Italian man :)
My friend and I came here tonight. 11/10. Food was superb, with very generous servings. The Tirimusu (house made) is to die for. The service by our waitress named Kathy was outstanding, she made us feel welcome and made us feel as though we had been friends for years! We will definitely be back after our experience. Thank you Carluccis and thank you Kathy (mumma)!! Kaye and Daniel 😙😙
Eaten here a few times, always had great quality and tasting food, good coffees and salads. The service is ok, they are quick to tend to you most of the time, theres an old Italian waiter who needs to retire, he is rude, grumpy and more so walks around in a daze looking busy rather than servicing tables. Service in general could be much better, greeting people with a smile😊is a good start. Prices are good for the good quality food served.
Carlucci's is home to delicious pizzas and amatriciana. The balance of flavours in the food is just right, and it is always great to go to an Italian outlet that has authentic drinks.
The menu is a little overwhelming so much to choose! Chicken Schnitzel was massive and even though it cost about 20 bucks, I thought was good value.
Absolutely love Carlucci's, I have never had a bad experience there. The food is always delicious and the service is fast. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the general vibe is great both inside and outside. I would definitely recommend Carlucci's if you're after some fantastic Italian cuisine.
If you're looking for a place to catch up that caters for all fusy eaters this is the place to go. My friends and I have eaten here on a monthly basis for years. We love that the prices are reasonable, the serving sizes are big (parmas are the size of a plate), there's lots of options for fussy eaters and those on a budget etc. The resturant is always busy so you won't feel like you need to leave early and service is always great.
Friendly staff. Like the casual atmosphere. Great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a coffee and cake out the front. Nice spot for the kids as well. Good family feel
Very Pleasant Sunday Lunch. Had a very pleasant Sunday lunch here to celebrate a family birthday. A bit concerned because of the low percentage rate of likes here but need not have worried. The place is very nice with easy parking nearby and the service was excellent. Prices a wee bit high for the dishes but the servings were enormous and perfectly cooked. I had a huge grilled flounder which was superb. Others had a veal dish with beautifully tender veal, excellent home made gnocchi and beer battered flathead tails. Each dish was outstanding, as was the home made Tira Misu which came in such a huge se5rving that three of us could not finish. An excellent meal in every way.
Great casual restaurant. This is our favourite local restaurant to go to for a casual meal. Always avoid eating inside as it is too noisy but the outdoor area is perfect. Great service - never had any problems - always very attentive. They do a great Smoked Salmon Salad and all their meals are very generous. Drinks are very reasonably priced also.
Chicken was beautifully cocked and the peanut satay wasn't over powering it came with a pleasing amount of rice but the spinach salad looked flat but overall it all tasted great - Entrée
Great family restaurant. We have just moved to the area and decided to try out two of the local restaurants this weekend. Both my wife and myself agreed that the stand out restaurant was carluccis. The service was attentive and efficient and the food was beautiful. We'll be sure to take our family there when they come to visit us.
In need of a new barista. I'm a regular customer and i'm regularly disappointed with the coffee. Although the food is very good and my friends are always there so i continue to return....
Perfect place to catch up with friends anytime of the day. I love the marinara pasta. It is cooked well so you have the flavour of the seafood in the pasta and the Crepes TO DIE FOR. Some waiters are very helpful but the main floor mantra is gone which is a shame cause he was excellent. But overall amazing !
The 8 visits with my family have been amazing.
Been for lunch, breaky and dinner.
Awesome service, friendly staff and terrific good.
This place has improved out of sight!
Delicious good. Great tiramisu and very friendly & attentive staff
Had a lovely dinner at this restaurant with my colleagues. It was very busy but the service was friendly. We were fortunate to have Alfresco dining as it was rather noisy inside the restaurant. The food was delicious and there was a good variety of dishes for selection.
I also like that some dishes may be ordered without chips or potatoes but with vegetables instead. I would love to visit again.
Dined for dinner with friends. I had the chilli prawns for my main which were tasty & shared the nutella & strawberry crepes for dessert which were tasty also. Service friendly.
The best food in this restaurant used to be Chicken Parma, but in this days the quality is gone a bit lower with tasteless Parma. Lower cheese and cream with Pastas as well. On the other hand, Risotto was amazing and will have it from now on.
Update 16/07/2022;
I’ve been there again and I’ve enjoyed most other dishes except chicken Parma. They are making the best risotto
Thanks 🙏
Great restaurant for tasty food. Fast, friendly service. Good range of kids meals and great desserts (at least on paper). I didn't really like the Fire Starter pizza as much as I was hoping - the sauce was too sweet. Will stick to the usual mexicana. Souvlaki was great.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Large menu so there is lots to choose from. Perfect to bring the family. Pizza was a highlight. The dough in particular was so fluffy and delicious. Also loved the home-made lemonade with mint ❤👌
Carlucci's has the best tiramisu i have ever had in my life! Huge slice, handmade with lots of indulgent creme but cake nice & light, just the way it should be, yum! Always nice friendly service from the guys & gals here too. It's a bit out of my way but worth it for that indulgent desert! Only issues is it does get very busy at times which makes it a bit noisy inside but they have now expanded their outdoor area so plenty of room out there, complete with heating lamps. i would recommend booking ahead so you don't miss out on a spot too.
Family run restaurant, quality of service and food is consistent. We travel all the way from city for the best Vanilla Slice in town. To avoid disappointment, we always reserve it when we sit down as it is the first to be sold out. Let me know if u agree.
