Review Express Pizza Pasta Bar - Templestowe

We dined in and it was great. Service was great but the food was superb. For the record we had the Lamb and Margherita pizza. Traditional cheese and nice light base. Rocket salad with pear was sensational, lasagne and Arancini also excellent. We will be back for sure! I’ve attached photos!

update: amazing Italian Burgers, better than anything a Gary could put together guaranteed. the staff here are the best. get a veggie pizza with chips and chilli oil. you will thank me

This place used to be a branch of Zero 95 pizza. Now, they have 'upgraded'. Sadly, the name "Express Pizza ...Bar" sounds like some quick and dirty takeaway, but mate, the quality of pizza is as good or better than Zero 95. I have eaten in the best pizza restaurants all over Italy, but man this little joint is at the top of my list. For takeaway, the pizzas are a bit lower priced than Zero 95....so why bother with Zero 95?!

Really good pizzas, the paesana was recommended by the waiter, and it was worth it. Great salami flavour with a kick of spice. The 6yo loved his kids size ham/pineapple. Good calamari too. We didn't try the pasta this time, but will definitely go back to test that. Great customer service when in store, the only small issue was booking a table via text according to their website, they're obviously busy so response times were a bit slow. Won't stop us coming back though.

Great-tasting pizzas, more of the gourmet nature, which is reflected in the prices. Decent sizes, though. We ordered a kid's margherita pizza, and it looked like a normal adult's pizza. Bonus! The lamb roast pizza was a bit too salty for our liking - maybe something more sour to balance the flavours(?). Recommend adding chilli to your pizza, if you want something really spicy. The meat lovers pizza was full of great flavour. The kinder bueno mini donuts are fantastic, not downed in too much chocolate sauce, which was probably a good thing. Definitely try the pizzas here. Friendly and fast service, easy online ordering with online discount.

Yummmmmm, delicious pizza and yummy fried calamari!! Had dinner here with my aunt and grandmother. The staff truly go above and beyond in the their customer service. Looking forward to going back again :)

These guys are the Best! Uber driver stuffed my delivery, I called them up after an unusually long wait... They discovered the issue on the spot, and then rushed me out a fresh order themselves. Best woodfire pizza around! Thanks again for the great service.

The best pizza! I love the base and crunchy crust. Extra tasty sauce and plenty of ingredients and combinations to choose from. My boyfriend loves the gnocchi. Keep up the good work guys!

Really love the pizza here. So glad they've opened up this little pizza bar around the corner from us. Best gluten free pizza anywhere. Cannot fault it. Family & friends I've brought here have all loved this little pizzeria. Very busy and fast moving pace at times, and quieter and relaxed other times. Staff are always really lovely and accommodating. We love it.

Very disappointed with both pizza and lasagne takeaway from Templestowe.... Had ordered both previously when the restaurant first opened and they were great. This time, the lasagna was bland with barely any meat in the sauce (also, specifically asked for Parmesan and got none), and the Hawaiian pizza had barely any topping - half the pizza was just dough... Such a shame, but unlikely to be ordering again anytime soon.

The truffle pizza was great and the service was good also. My boys really liked going up to see the guys make the pizzas. Nice work we will be back.

Our go to pizza restaurant close to home. Base is cooked perfectly and tasty toppings. They use fresh ingredients which is very good.

We had family lunch here - it was a great dining experience. We enjoyed the pizzas here - worth mentioning the pizza base here, the crust were crispy and not too thick. The toppings were good. The pasta were also surprising good, we ordered carbonara and pesca - all cooked al dante and the sauce were done exceptionally - well seasoned and sauce was perfectly coating the pasta (as it should be). Calamari were delicious - freshly crumbed in house, fried crispy and not oily at all. Kids eat free here on Sunday - generous portion. Our 3 nephews had pennette bolognese and cheese pizza. They loved it!

My absolute fave pizza and pasta. We come here all the time. We e tried everything else In templestowe. Pizza is super fresh and tasty and delicious . No soggy bases. They literally spin the pizza dough for ages in their hands and it makes the bases super soft and chewy and oh so good. <br/>Pasta is just done perfectly well simple but flavourful. How good Italian should be. <br/><br/>BEST PART IS KIDS EAT FREE ON WEEKENDS.

First time here, it was good, but not great. Pizza was a bit soft for my liking and the tomato base tasted a bit like supermarket pizza base.  I eat a lot of VPN pizza and although this looks like it (leoparding and such), it wasn't really the same.  Gnocchi was soft but could be a bit softer. Mussels was flavoursome but could have had a bit more chilli and seemed to use the same tomato base.  Great thing is that it's open to 2am, but not sure I'd come back here for Italian cravings.

Lovely little pizzeria in Templestowe. Quality ingredients, perfect dough, great menu and friendly staff. Can be hit and miss at times. Can be a bit heavy handed with the sauce and cheese application which ruins the taste. If they could pull back on these toppings i think that would make their pizzas taste so much better. Still a great pizza. Keep at it guys! :)

Loved the food here! I just got back from Italy and the Pizza here was authentic, Pasta was delicious. Came here on Thursday and the Pastas were $15! The garlic bread was to die for. Parking is easy out the back. The restaurant had a very cool vibe and cosy fitout. Would highly recommend!!

Really cool place with chill vibes. Came by here to catch up with some friends and the food and service was great. They have cheap deals during weeknights too. Will be back

Express Pizza is usually our local go-to for a great Pizza but tonight’s experience has been disappointing! <br/>My gluten free Margarita is usually great with enough cheese but tonight barely had any cheese on and had burnt crusts. Not sure if they are short staffed today? <br/>Fingers crossed this was a once off disappointment .

I was lucky to attend a launch event for the lovely restaurant & I loved the food so much!<br/><br/>The restaurant itself isn’t very big. A more cosy vibe with some nice artwork on the walls. I’d say it seems more of a takeaway shop than a dine in, but the food is where it’s at.<br/><br/>I loved the pizza! I was able to watch the dough being handmade, it being put into the oven & straight out for me to eat. The pizza wasn’t complicated, a few simple toppings that go so well together. <br/>THE CHIPS ARE AMAZING! I honestly couldn’t get enough. It was like schnitz style chips & maccas salt had a baby chip, and this was it. Lovely & crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the inside.<br/>The arancini balls were nice and crispy on the outside, and had a nice, soft, slightly cheesy inside with the rice stuffing.<br/>The desserts are really something unique. The mini doughnuts with a ton of topping were the perfect way to finish off the meal. I loved any of them with Nutella!<br/><br/>Nick, the owner, was so welcoming & friendly. To see the passion he has for his restaurant & producing good quality food, was amazing.

We were lucky enough to be invited to the launch party here and sampled a lot of their signature pizzas.<br/><br/>The main thin we loved was that the base was quite thin and crispy with just enough toppings to flavour the pizza and overwhelm taste buds.<br/><br/>We also enjoyed the donuts which came out last, we personally loved the chewy texture of these donuts , they weer really addicting and loved dipping them in the chocolate and ice cream<br/><br/>Thanks for having us in

So impressed with the vegan options here! Any pizza can be made with vegan cheese and it’s so good!! The Margherita is just soooo good. <br/><br/>Great selection of drinks and desserts too.<br/><br/>And the service is amazing. Nick and the team are great!

this is easily one of my favorite restaurants to go to whenever i’m craving a little piece of Italy. i’m personally a massive fan of pasta - their penne all’ amatriciana is hands down my ultimate go to. pizza doughs are all baked to perfection! it wouldn’t be an Express experience if you left without trying their Nutella pizza. extremely satisfied with the quality of food and customer service 👌🏻 would definitely make several and more trips back despite being a city gal.

The pasta here ranks amongst the best you'll find anywhere in Melbourne. Coupled with really friendly staff, it's a great atmosphere for casual dining which is much needed in the Eastern suburbs!

The new management at the Express Pizza Pasta Bar is genuinely all class, the service was 5 Star and not to mention that the staff were welcoming and very helpful when helping me decide what to order. You can taste the fresh produce and the love that goals into the food, THE PASTA IS TO DIE FOR HERE. <br/><br/>Would recommend to all family and friends and will definitely be there again soon.

After taking on new ownership, express pizza pasta bar has been killing it! Service is great, prices are reasonable especially with their weekly specials and not to mention how amazing the food is!!! Looking forward to go back!

Went here on a Wednesday & didn’t realise they do cheap pizzas on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Any pizza is $15 which is great! I got the chicky chicken pizza & my friends got Margherita & lamb shoulder pizza. The pizzas were delicious & so filling. But the real reason we went here is because I saw they do donuts with nutella on them. So of course we got that for dessert & that was heavenly. My friend also got the tiramisu which she liked.

The pizzas are nice but way too expensive especially if buying for a family. The staff taking the orders can also be short and borderline rude at times. Won’t be back.

Good pizza and pasta for a local place for a mid-week dinner out. Have been back many times for the simple, hearty flavours and the staff always friendly and ready for a chat.

Was hoping a zero95 would come to Templestowe and it has. Went to the one in Doncaster and it was very good, and glad to see that it hasn’t changed, very nice pizza.

Service and delivery was good and timely, although gluten free pizza almost tasted stale and not even food like.... arancini and chips take away were nice

quick, yummy, fun. Zero 95 was a small nice restaraunt located in templestowe shops, the pizza is delicious and is served within 15 minutes of ordering. i have personally been to this express bar as well as the restaraunt around 10 times and do not think about ever stop going. i love ever pizza i have ever tasted and if it was up to me i would eat here every night, too bad my wife is a biatchhhhh....

Pizza my favourite food.  Great quality ingredients and perfect combinations on their specials range.   The base oh the base was just simply special. Not sweet not oily not soggy, with a nicely baked crust and toasted bottom.  Service was great, friendly and attentive both providing and clearing plates when required. Nice view from the elevated vantage point. Seating both  inside and out. Oh forgot to mention the deli slicer on the bench, yes they freshly slice their own meat for toppings WOW.

Great pizza. Well cooked, Fresh ingredients. Only small negative it’s a bit pricey but it’s gourmet pizza! Easily one of the best places I have eaten at. Think 300 Gradi but better IMO. Will be back whenever I’m in the area!

We tried ordering pizza delivery the old fashioned way (by phone) but the phone rang out multiple times. We eventually worked out that you can only order online (which I find odd) so we got onto uber eats and ordered. <br/><br/>We placed our order at 5pm for an 8pm delivery and were pleased that the order arrived on time. However our pizzas were cold which was disappointing. <br/><br/>Overall the dough and the toppings were good and the pizza's enjoyable. <br/><br/>I'll try them again in the future but won't be rushing back.

Very nice Naples style pizza. We grabbed a Margherita and Capricciosa takeaway. Lukewarm by the time we got home so we popped them in the oven for a bit. Great balance of flavours and base. Capricciosa looked a little slap dash. Would have liked an even spread of ham (and more of it!) as some slices were like eating a mushroom pizza.<br/><br/>Lasagne was tiny and pricey for what you get, nice touch with the three slices of warm bread.

Staff are lovely never had a bad experience here. You don't have to book a table but I would suggest it if you plan on staying there for several hours and don't want to seat outside. All pizzas are hot when they come to the table and are cooked in a wood fire oven, all are delicious and the buffalo mozzarella instead of regular mozzarella makes all the difference. Nutella pizza, calzone or doughnuts are fabulous, wait time isn't long. Could not recommend any higher.

We wanted to head over to Zero95 down at Jackson Court, but it was fully booked. So the staffs asked us to check out their express bar over at Templestowe.. and we were glad that we did! <br/><br/>The standard of food from both stores are consistent and as good. So no hesitation in future to which store to visit. <br/><br/>For big group, I would suggest sticking with Zero95 at Jackson court, as the express bar is great for 2-4 people. Though they are happy to accomodate more, and do have a small sitting area outside. During winter, they've got quite well spread out heater in between tables! And, Yes, they've got high chairs for young family. <br/><br/>Love the ambience, and how they've got a glass panel for us to watch the chefs flipping and making the pizzas! We had a great experience as the staffs were so friendly to our child. Brought her to see the making of pizza, and the chef was so nice to give her a plate of some flour with dough to play with while we were waiting for our food. How cool was that! <br/><br/>We ordered their famous Margarita- Yummmmm. Such a simple dish, but so good. Do try their Buffalo Mozzarella Salad- I'm not a huge fan of salad, but this was really nice. Very fresh tomatoes and greens, having it together with the cheese was the bomb. Calamari was cook perfect, soft and chewy. As for the lasagne dish, nothing outstanding aside from it being home-made slow cooked beef, but still taste good. <br/><br/>Would head back in future, as it isn't as crowded as the main one. :)

Great online delivery system. The service is very professional and the food was excellent. The food came quickly and was hot and fresh when it arrived.

This is a fairly smallish restaurant but happily took our booking which filled the place up. They were incredibly efficient in terms of taking orders, money and table service and everyone was delighted with the quality of the food. I'd say pretty much faultless!

Located not far from their main outlet in Doncaster East, this express mini outlet was nearby the roundabout on James St just in front of a parking area off Wood St of Templestowe Village. <br/><br/>By far, one of the nicest pizza express I've come across. Clean and beautifully furbished black & white interior with a cosy indoor as well as outdoor dining area. Staff were warm, friendly & accommodating. Had the pleasure to sit by their comfortable bar seat counter with full view of their shiny busy kitchen and was captivated by the friendly Chefs' pizza and other food preparation. <br/><br/>We tried the kids Hawaiian pizza, served literally fresh out of the oven and also a good size to share. Probably could be described as the minimalist pizza; there's no hidden or extra ingredients found in their pizzas so the magic was in the dough preparation so that it can be fired nice and quickly. With that, any toppings would have made a fantastic tasting pizza with this type of dough. The kids were also kindly given some sample of the fresh pizza dough to play with and could easily feel the fresh soft texture and its nice elasticity. <br/><br/>The tasty well portioned lasagna was nicely served with some delicious dark grained sliced baguette. <br/><br/>No doubt the Nutella calzone that we brought home was a major hit for our after meal indulgence. Had to wait for 1 hour and 5 minutes for the pizzas and they are cold. Our place is actually 6 minutes away driving from the shop. What happened to our once favourite pizza place?

Wanted to try this place because a colleague was raving! Oh my I was disappointed! Looks better than is tastes. Although I enjoyed the minimal toppings, the base was thin, as described but unfortunately this meant it became very soggy very fast. Wasnt too keen on the toppings either. My local pizza joint is better. On a positive their mini donuts were divine and was what ultimately made me score zero95 pizza higher. For the exuberant prices, I wont be returning!

Having experienced Zero 95 in Doncaster a few weeks ago I knew just where to go last night when a friend from Sydney suggested we go to dinner locally. There were so many pizzas on the menu we were overwhelmed and literally ordered the exact same ones as last time but were a bit more adventurous with the entrees choosing the Aranacini (deliciously cheesy) and the calamari (lovely and tender). Zero 95 Express doesn't have the extensive pasta menu that the main restaurant has but having tried both I would always chose the pizza anyway. The highlight of the night was the Nutella calzone which had SO much oozy Nutella in there I was in absolute heaven. Strawberries and vanilla ice cream cut through the sweetness so it isn't sickly. While it sounds terribly sad next time I want to try a salad because a salmon and avocado one actually looked phenomenal coming out of the kitchen. I'll be back

Went last week and had an excellent pizza. Crisp, slightly chewy base with top quality produce. The prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella were fresh, tasty and combined perfectly with the sweet pomodoro. Went back tonite and the experience was replicated exactly. A great pizza place has to be able to produce great pizza each time and this pizzaola knows his craft.

Great pizza in the heart of a Templestowe. Pizzas have a great chewy base with a selection of quality ingredients. Tonight I had one of the best calzone I have ever tasted. 😍 You can dine in if you are lucky enough to get a table, or take away. Perfect way to start the weekend.

Bad, bad, bad...just dont bother. <br/>From the crummy phone/bookings arrangement to the 'couldnt give a damn' attitude, and the very average food, at crazy prices- Just go elsewhere....

Excellent pizza . Perfect base , nice sauce , good amount of cheese and lovely topping . Guys at the front were very helpful with the menu and let me get a few modifications . Heads up

Fantastic little take away pizzeria these guys really know what there doing they also have a wood fired pizzeria in Doncaster, I don't know which one I like better there both amazing. I ordered 4 take away pizzas for the family love the quality and the taste definitely the best place in the east for takeaway pizza.

What a great take away pizza bar!!! Great traditional pizzas with a huge selection of flavours. My favourite are the good old margarita and capricciosa. Loving they also deliver in the area. Definitely my new Friday night takeaway!!

Dined there last night with a couple of friends mine I ordered the San Daniele, panarea and calzone Italia all items everything tasted amazing from the toppings all the way to the crispy base. Love the casual dining approach and fit out of the place. We will be back <br/>

Love what zero95 have Brought to Templestowe and what a fantastic pizza, thin crispy with top quality ingredients you can really taste the difference and the best thing is they deliver. Can't wait to go back!!

Brilliant! Excellent quality pizza for just a takeaway store, the same quality as the main restaurant in Doncaster even though the pizza isn't wood fired here. Don't bother with surrounding pizza shops and pay the extra few bucks for the authentic Italian product. Now they just need to deliver to Eltham!
