Review Miss Kneady - Templestowe

Eat Play Live Melbourne
We visited for the first time on Sunday for brunch. We sat outside in the covered heated area which is really cute with astro turf and fairy lights, plus glass to stop the wind. They've just relaunched a brunch service Fri-Mon now that covid is lifting. It's a concise menu with great coffee and $10 cocktails!!! Food came out quickly and was nicely presented. Service was excellent! I would have loved to see a lighter option on the brunch menu but the owners say they're looking in to this. We've only been for brunch, but Miss Kneady do an excellent sounding Italian inspired menu for lunch/dinner and the smell from the woodfired pizza oven was delicious.

Had a great time at Miss Kneady! We were greeted by friendly staff and throughout the night they were attentive to our needs. Food and drinks came out well timed and every dish was delicious! The saganaki is a must! I also got a mocktail made for me as I don’t drink and my request was accommodated. Plenty of carparks in front and also they have outdoor dining area for good weather. Would definitely be back and thank you for making it a fun night guys!

What a great local. Now that it’s time to dine out again we’ve sort of rediscovered this gem. Professional service, friendly owners, great food every time, from a generous list of Italian style choices (including pizza). We rarely have pizza though as the other menu items always sound so enticing. Our guests had a couple of the best steaks they’d eaten in years. I had a lovely and generous serve of ravioli, and greens, and my husband a very good pizza. Reasonable wine list with ‘by the glass’ and bottle options. There’s BYO but with a $10 p/bottle corkage, which is fair enough. It’s a modern feeling open and clean room with central service bar. Warm balmy nights see the entire front facade windows open to keep fresh air circulating, so it feels less risky than some places. Just reminds me if why local is often our first choice. Parking is usually ok, but the area is getting busier these days.

Our first experience at the restaurant today was a positive one. The service was good, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We would be return customers. Thank you Lucy for your good service.

Caught up with a group of 6 tonight at Miss Knead. Was probably the most lively restaurant we’ve experience since covid restrictions eased with great interiors and a real mix of zones. Waiting staff were knowledgeable and efficient although rushed off their feet. We mostly ordered pastas and the risottos off the menu a couple shared the spicy prawn pizza that had quite a kick to it. I was able to change the menu items a little opting for gnocchi with a lamb ragu instead of parpadelle. The gnocchi were soft and lamb fall apart tender. We Enjoyed arancini balls for entree and seems we received the calamari main as an entree.

Full praise for this restaurants ability to cater for food allergy issues Our waiter Alex was very professional, knowledgeable about food issues which gave our granddaughters full confidence in what they were about to eat. The pizzas were yum, service great, highly recommend Yvonne

Always 5 stars. Pork belly pizza is the best, love the atmosphere dining in, awesome staff, and takeaway always arrives hot, tasty, and fresh.

I don't usually eat pizza, because of past unsatisfactory experiences however I cannot rave enough about the pizza I ordered from Miss Kneady through Uber Eats. They added extra cheese and sauce as per my special request and it was just amazing. Would definitely order from here again and again. Pizza was still hot and cheese melted when it arrived :)

The arancini balls were delish but pasta serving size should be bigger and should at more meat in the pasta! Beautiful interior with the furniture. I wouldn't rush back though average food and for what you pay quantity size not the best!

Alex and the team here make great food, their coffee is great and their team are super friendly. Great place to duck into and grab a coffee as well!
Dining With Debbie
Went for breakfast with a couple of friends this morning and it was fantastic! The avocado toast with poached egg and feta was amazing and the Ace Ventura juice (watermelon, apple, strawberries & mint) was nice and refreshing. Service was great, very attentive, and I love, love, love the decor. Already planning my next visit!!

Been here a couple of times to give it a chance but honestly, this place is a little overrated for its quality of food v price. The pizza base was a little undercooked and bland, especially the margarita. Had the seafood pasta which was a little underwhelming for the price. Has so much potential, what a shame.

Started strong! The starters we shared of calamari, meatballs, pizza, bruschetta were all probably 9/10, super tasty. The pastas foe main were a bit of a let down, not bad at all, just a bit bland and lacked flavour after coming off some perfect starters.
Birdman
Very good menu with lots to choose from. Was very impressed with the starters we had. Bruschetta and meatballs were the highlight. Pizzas were delicious. Had the Parma for main, nice big thick bit of chicken but could have done with some more prosciutto and cheese and the chips were very average. Everyone enjoyed it and it was very busy for a Tuesday night... 3.5

Great food, pizza was done just right. Gnocchi was silky, dessert also great. No complaints about this place and amazing service too.

A welcome addition to Templestowe, which was in much need of some “new blood”. I enjoyed a nice dinner on a Sunday night, and was greeted and served by well-mannered wait staff. I ordered the lamb pizza and an amaretto sour cocktail. Most cocktails were very reasonably priced & went down a treat. The pizza base was nice and light, the dough not too chewy, although the base was quite burnt. However, I’ll definitely be back to try more of the pizzas and suss out the pasta menu next time!

Food: 4/5
Environment: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5

A contemporary Italian restaurant with a youthful feel - from the neon sign on the wall to the bright, airy interior. I tried the spring pasta, which was a very zesty combination of peas, zucchini flowers, herbs, and a blob of creamy straticella to finish. Pizzas looked great too. It almost feels like one of those places that’s going to be all style and no substance - but the simple menu and excellent produce thankfully redeem it.

We’ve eaten here before and had a pleasant experience however last week we asked to sit at the back due to a medical issue, where there was less music and noise, so that we could communicate easily. The place was only half full but it was noisy. We tried explaining our reason for our seating request (there was only 4 of us) but was told as there was only one waitress working they couldn’t accommodate us. We said that we were happy to go to the waitress if needed, we just needed a relatively quiet space to eat. The two staff members were emphatic that they wouldn’t let us sit there. So we up and left. Went to a cafe just up the road. Will not go again. Disappointing.

Beautiful decor, great staff however menu selection and variety limited and too expensive but the biggest disappointment, we chose this restaurant to cater for gluten free... attempted to order GF pizza but was told the base was sold out (by 7:00pm), further disappointed to find out that salads are not an option for dinner which left me with limited options.
May return one day but not any time soon!!

After driving past this newly opened eatery for weeks, I finally went inside and I am so glad I did!

This is such a beautiful place for any occasion- casual brunch, boozy lunch or fun and playful dinner! I opted for the chilli scramble and replaced the bacon with mushrooms. There was a little mix up with the swap but the waiter quickly fixed the problem. We also got the corn and zucchini fritters and they were beautiful!

If you’re ever looking for a place that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, this is the place to go!
I can’t wait to come back for dinner to try a wood fire pizza or 2, they looked and smelled incredible :)

We went to Miss Kneady on Saturday night and the place was really buzzing, great food and great service. Even though they were super busy the service did not skip a beat, I would strongly urge people to visit this place you won't be disappointed, although you will need to book especially for weekend dinners.....ENJOY!

I really loved the wild mushroom pasta and steak. I love my steak slightly burnt but I understand not everyone does. (Like my husband) i liked the vibe but the staff were just tooooo unattentive except for the gentleman who I think is the owner. Food took at least 20 minutes and other staff were just rushing around the place.

Had dinner with my wife tonight. Absolutely amazing place. We had both the 36 hour Raghu with meat lovers pizza. The dishes were divine. Not overfilling but also not too little to keep you feeling hungry. We then ordered tiramisu and Italian donuts to share and they were both delicious. The waitress serving us was extremely professional and polite and the ambiance was beautiful. I will definitely be coming back and bringing the extended family. Well done on a remarkable establishment.

Great food- top quality produce, delicious flavours and nice variety on the menu. They even made the usually boring grilled chicken salad taste magic. Love the pink theme especially the neon sign 🤩 and the staff are always happy and cheerful.

Highly recommend the doughnuts!

I recently had the opportunity to try newly opened Miss Kneady in Templestowe and was quite impressed with this lovely eatery. It's evident that a lot of care has been taken to create a cool and relaxed vibe, with a beautiful, modern interior. ..lots of natural light, touches of pink, comfortable furniture and funky artworks including a fabulous neon sign. It's also really spacious and it would fit quite a few diners.

We dined at lunch time, but took the opportunity to also try one of the brunch dishes. Starting with fresh juice and a fab glass of wine, which was served in a very cool wine glass; we decided to try the pancakes as well as a lamb pizza, as the pizzas are their specialty. Service was really swift even though it was a busy lunch crowd, and the waiters were so lovely.

The crust on the pizza was nice and chewy, with a nice char. The toppings were plentiful, and nice and fresh. The mix of flavours with the lamb worked really well together, and overall it was a really delicious pizza. The pancakes were also really tasty. Light and fluffy, with plenty of fresh berries, coulis and fresh cream. My only criticism would be that I feel the presentation of this dish was a little haphazard, and there was probably too much sauce. However, the taste was still all there, and we really enjoyed eating them.

Miss Kneady is a gorgeous venue that wouldn't be out of place in the CBD, so it's lovely for the residents of this area to have such a fabulous new restaurant. With super friendly staff, a delicious Italian inspired menu, and such a relaxed, elegant ambience I'm sure this will be a new favourite amongst the locals.

Cute cafe with lots to offer but needs to sort out the speed of their food service ASAP!

Have visited Miss Kneady on 2 x occassions - the first of which was on a Sunday morning. Walked in, greeted straight away, menu looked great, coffee arrived quickly (& good coffee at that) but waited around 30 mins for our meals. Being a Sunday and relatively busy, we didn't mind the wait too much and the food was lovely.

2nd visit was on a Friday morning, not overly busy. Once again got my coffee quite quickly and ordered food at the same time. 45 minutes later, still no food. Followed up - nowhere to be seen. So i left. And it didn't look like a lot of other people had their food either.

Really hope that Miss Kneady can sort out whatever the hold-up is in the kitchen, as the venue is awesome, food great (when it arrives!) and could be an absolute stand-out cafe in the Templestowe area.

We love getting invited out to try new places. This hidden gem is one to try and don't miss the avo toast 😋🤤 the cherry on top, the pet friendly courtyard is heated!!!
Love Food
It’s the worst restaurant anyone can ever go! We waited for our food for about 50 mins on a Thurs night! We asked our waitress politely to check if our food was coming as I’m breastfeeding & had my baby at home! and she was pointing her finger to us (with her full on fake eyelashes) saying “darling on my docket I only ordered 20mins ago & it’s a busy night coz we’ve got a large table so we can’t do anything “!! She was lying & arguing with us over her mistake! They could have advised us at the start so we had the choice to stay or go to any other restaurants around there! Then the food arrived & I did ask for chilli on the side coz I can’t eat chilli & waitress originally said that’s totally fine, they can remove chilli at all!! Sounded great but guess what! The chilli was all in my pasta & it was the spiciest food ever! Manager brought me another pasta after around 5mins but it was again Chilli!! Which I couldn’t bother to tell them again & just didn’t eat!! Their fish was ridiculously salty & when my friend again politely just advised the manager she can’t eat it coz of the salt , he took the fish & came back said the chef tried her food & thinks it’s perfectly fine!!! Well because he cooked that disaster himself!!! And again you’re arguing with us!!!!
Are you guys serious!!!! Since when the waitress & manager argue with their customers who’s waited for 50mins and got all their food wrong or salty!!! Even though they’re new , they’re not even trying to impress their customers! All we needed was a basic apology at the start rather than someone first pointing her finger to us arguing about the time (which turned out we were right but she left our table without any apology!) And then their mistake with my food with chilli & terrible salty food that no one could possibly eat & again they were arguing that chef tried & he’s saying it’s ok!!! And to make it even worse, we had to pay for our food!!! Which we didn’t care coz we just wanted to run out of that restaurant but it was shocking as anywhere else would have not charged us!
With that disgusting service you can’t even argue with people to top it up! It was a horrific experience! Worst restaurant we’ve all ever been !!!
Eating With Ebony
Newly opened restaurant in templestowe. It’s very open, spacious & the interior is lovely. I got the lamb pizza without olives & my friends got the vegetarian pizza & vegan cheese & the other got some sort of fritter thing with bacon. The lamb pizza was good. It was light & tasted good. The friend who got the other pizza liked hers as well but she was underwhelmed by the cheese but she thinks it’s because it’s vegan. She was really happy though that they do offer that. My friend who got the fritters ate it really fast & still was hungry. She liked it but just didn’t fill her up. Also the toast was burnt so she had to scrape that off. In the end we also decided to get some dessert. We got the Italian donuts. The were very nice & sweet. Loved how they had 2 sauces with it. But I did think it was a little pricey considering it was for 4 donut balls.

I came here for dinner on the weekend. This place had such a cute vibe especially with the cute neon sign which read, "All you knead is love" - clever!

We had the pizza special which was tomato based, mozzarella, roast duck, potato, pickled onion and basil with fig jam. It had a sweet favouring to it, it was super delicious. I loved the thin base because it doesn't overpower the flavours of the topping. Loved it!

We also had the Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare which had prawns, crab, garlic, chilli, cherry tomatoes, prawn oil and pangrattato. This pasta had a very refreshing taste and it wasn't too oily even though it does look it. With every mouthful, I just kept wanting more of it. Loved the fresh prawns in this dish.

We finished up with the nutella pizza and the Chocolate mousse. Can't go wrong with a choclately dessert after feasting on the pizza special and the seafood pasta. What a lovely experience!

Definitely worth checking this place out if you're in the area.

Recently visited this amazing pizza joint in Templestowe and i was impressed! Walked into a restaurant filled with people on a saturday night and the decor was nothing short of amazing!
The menu had such a good range and we were tempted to have everything! Finally decided on the items below;
Entrees

Burnt eggplant dip, pine nuts and molasses
Absolutely loved this dish, it has mediterrenean inspired flavours and it went really well with the wood fired bread.

Char-grilled Fremantle Octopus, nduja.
The octopus was cooked perfectly and the sauce brings out the flavour! It was such an amazing entree

Pizzas

Lamb
Slow roasted lamb shoulder, spanish onions, olives, cherry tomatoes, herb yogurt, mozzarella, basil and italian tomatoes. We went with the lamb pizza as we wanted something different and was not disappointed. The dough was so chewy and it had the right texture, and the toppings went really well together. Loved the idea of a lamb shoulder in the pizza, as it was cooked so well.

Prosciutto
Shaved to order prosciutto di Parma, mozarella, rocket, basil, italian tomatoes. This pizza was simple and yet amazing! The prosciutto was really nice and the pizza dough is so good.

Pasta

Sweet potato and ricotta gnochi
Loved the idea of a sweet potato and ricotta gnochi, the texture of chewy and nice and the sauce went really well together.

Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare
This is one of my favourite pastas! The spaghetti was cooked Al Dente and the seafood was very fresh! Absolutely loved it

Sweet Endings

Italian Donuts
The donuts were drizzled in a caramel sauce and it was such a perfect sweet ending to the night.

Tiramisu
Not your ordinary tiramisu that is! The texture was nice and the flavours were well balanced. Would definitely recommend this dish

Such an amazing place and I cant get over the nice decors! Would definitely recommend this place, just perfect for a date night, family dinners or a catch up over good food!

Uber’d pizza - was really disappointing . The base was super soft and soggy , and the ingredients didn’t reach the edges ?
I know the coffee and brunch food is better; so I’d say avoid the pizza.

Had a wonderful night out at Miss Kneady restaurant. Started with the delicious woodfired bread with roasted egg plant dip which had pine nuts and sweet bursts of pomegranate. The barramundi was cooked to perfection and brussels sprouts roasted tasted amazing. When you go definitely have the chocolate mousse with crunchy chocolate pieces and caramel ganache. The staff were polite, friendly, efficient and attentive and our meals came out with just the right amount of time between each course. Very happy to recommend this restaurant to you.

We had a lovely lunch at Miss Kneady Eatery. Staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our meal. I like the ambience and the restaurant felt very clean. The woodfire pizza oven looks very impressive. I ordered the Cape Grim Beef Burger which was delicious and the chips were perfect. I look forward to returning for breakfast or a wood fire pizza dinner,

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Our meals took over an hour to arrive, but were delicious. We weren't asked at any point if we wanted to order a drink, a wine list wasn't offered even though the table was set with wine glasses. When one of our party finally got the attention of one of the wait staff he ordered a coke - but unfortunately it was forgotten.I hate to write a negative review and only hope it helps Miss Kneady to become the best in Templestowe.I hope to have a better experience when the restaurant is open for a little longer.Good Luck

Pasta is definitely amazing. Pizza looked good but I didn’t try it. Eggplant dish was ordinary, undercooked and stringy. Overall food is pretty expensive for what it is.

Was very excited to try out a new brunch spot in Templestowe. The interior is stunning and the venue has a very lovely vibe - you can tell the effort that has gone into the fit out.

I ate here with my partner and sister for breakfast last weekend. The coffee was delish, not bitter at all. The only downside was the time we had to wait for our breakfast, ended up waiting 50 minutes for fruit toast and 2 serves of eggs/bacon. The staff kept us informed of the progress of our meal, however just the wait was a little disappointing.

All in all, a good first experience - the only recommendation would be the speed of service. Looking forward to giving this place another go for pizza!
