Review Seasalt Restaurant - Terrigal

One of my favourite places - a stunning dining room and atmosphere with beautiful views over the ocean. Staff are so helpful, friendly yet professional. The food is fresh, well made & presented. The wine list offers a great range and very affordable. Love the seafood especially the seafood platter, inhouse smoked salmon & the grilled prawns & scallops. The chips are super crunchy, golden & addictive and dessert is light and refreshing.

Venue has beautiful and has a great view. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We went for the breakfast buffet which had a lovely variety of fresh fruits, cereals, and pastries - I especially liked the machine that made fresh pancakes! My only criticism is that the hot buffet food was unfortunately all cold with the exception of the hashbrowns which made the breakfast disappointing.

We ordered the Seafood Platter for 2 - as you can see, they did not disappoint! Prime location, elegance and sophistication delivered from food, service and ambience. Love it and highly recommend it. Be sure to call 1 or 2 weeks in advance for Weekend reservations and inform them you'd like the Seafood platter (we were advised, so they ensure produce is available). Enjoy!

Served us cauliflower flowers that came straight out if the fridge. The barramundi was also barely cooked. We advised the server who touched the food and agreed they were less than room temperature. She talked to the chef who didn't want to hear the feedback. No subsidy was given at the end of the meal, so we paid full price for a restaurant that was part of a "4.5 star" hotel. Bearing in mind that mains were around 50 bucks each. Ridiculous. While we can forgive food that comes out underprepared, we can't forgive the unwillingness to receive feedback, especially when the evidence is stacked overwhelmingly against them. Make your own minds about coming here.

Exquisite dining experience. The views supplement the great food on offer. Definitely an experience especially for those seeking some luxury. Great service also - the whole Crowne Plaza facility oozes class & great service.

We booked in for the breakfast buffet. Thought the service and food were great. We were given a table that was reserved for someone else, but didn’t arrive in the allotted time frame (1 1/2hrs).

Beautiful food, especially recommend the chocolate tart, the rotolo and the mushroom risotto. Nice to see so many good vegetarian options. The staff were also lovely, they even gave us a free dessert! Highly recommend!! Make sure you book in advance, it fills up quick!

The Seafood Platter is up with the best, An imaginative selection of fresh and hot seafood which the two of us couldn't finish as much as we wanted to. The platter was pure seafood - not a chip to be seen ! Good wine choices and very helpful professional staff made for a memorable meal.

Seasalt restaurant, located within the Crowne Plaza is great because you don’t even have to step foot outside the hotel. With ocean views, it has a stunning outlook and is set up for a sophisticated dining experience.

Executive chef Simon Quick has curated a great array of ala carte menu options that change seasonally and the meals are presented beautifully and are of high quality. We also want to highlight that Sous chef Dana Chantler won chef of the year at last years HM awards. We are not surprised, since the food here is excellent.
For our entree, we selected the refreshing snapper ceviche with lime, coconut, cucumber marinade, chilli and basil as well as Oysters three ways; kefir lime jelly, natural and classic French mignonette.

For our mains we opted for the Grilled market fish (Ling on our visit), perfectly cooked as was the seared scallops it was served with, this dish also came with fennel, peas, green beans, pesto butter sauce (GF).

The Pinnacle beef tenderloin was thoroughly enjoyed, cooked as ordered, medium rare, and accompanied by some crisp kipfler potatoes, herb and garlic butter and a drizzle of beautiful red wine jus (GF)

Both of us had a glass of wine, a white and red to accompany the fish and meat, but you’re able to order a beer or cocktail if you so please.

The best part of this place is the excellent service at the table. The wait staff are very attentive but not invasive. Just helpful, polite, keen to assist and good at reading what you need. They make dining there a really welcoming experience. The food was presented nicely. Sadly my meal was quite cold. I don't know if it had been sitting there a while without the kitchen asking for it to go or whether the wait staff just didn't take it out in time. Can't be sure. But the end result for me was a cold meal that would be hard to reheat without cooking it too much. It still tasted nice. The environment is lovely and there is a nice view. Overall this is a quality establishment. Just have to work on timing of food delivery to the table.
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
With a storm approaching, the temptation to bunker down inside the Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific was very high when we woke up on our first morning in Terrigal. We weren’t the only ones to feel this way. When we arrived at Seasalt Restaurant for our first Buffet Breakfast ($39.50/head) we were met with a confluence of in-house guests and Central Coast locals, who by virtue of their postcode, get to enjoy a cheaper Locals Buffet Breakfast ($29.50) at the hotel. We were seated en masse in the larger lower dining space. It offers a great view of the darkened skies though the glass roof and arc of beach-facing windows, but is very loud. Coffee orders are taken as we sit down, so my dining companion darts off to order our eggs from the highly praised egg station. Before he returns loaded up with toast, muffins and pastries, his chorizo, goat’s cheese and fresh chilli omelette has arrived. It’s a well-made egg dish, generously filled with chalky lumps of cheese. The pastries however are less successful – the croissants are undercooked, and their pastry is underwhelming. My own selection - eggs Benedict – are nowhere to be seen. My dining companion had finished his omelette and started devouring a plate of fruit, cheese and a Belgian waffle before my eggs arrived, making for...

Seasalt has a great view of Terrigal beach, right by the water inside the Crowne Plaza. We came here on a week night and it was very quiet so we had the best table and service was pretty good.

We were served with fresh bread, olives and balsamic. The bread was delicious! Seasalt is considers itself fine dining and charges accordingly. Each main is around $40 each but luckily we had a buy 1 meal get 1 free with our entertainment app.

We ordered the smoked Duck Breast with liver Parfait, Glazed Beets and fennel. The duck was slightly overcooked and we weren't massive fans of the liver parfait. It did have a really good sauce which had a hint of vegemite taste to it. We also ordered the snapper with okra, eggplant, Andouille Sausage and gumbo broth. This dish was great. The fish was cooked perfectly, loved the okra and gumbo broth.

Overall the dishes had some really nice elements but was let down by the overcooked duck. We won't be rushing back as its very pricey.
Sat down beautiful bread , olives and oil balsamic and thought this is a great start, decided to order two courses, the main of corn fed chicken was very dry, minced, very disappointing , also on the plate some pork belly, it was O K
My dessert the Assiette , rhubarb crumble , very so so , poached rhubarb ( not cooked at all, rock hard!) and a custard like water, all of the items on the plate just didn't work together at all
Pricey for what was delivered
Won't return

The perfect location for fresh seafood!
We loved the variety of oysters and accompaniments.
A little pricey for lunch, but we enjoyed every dish served.

Rubbish. I went on Saturday night with a group of 15 friends and we had a terrible meal. We waited for over 1.5hrs for our entree and when our mains came the potatoes were raw and the salmon was really undercooked (more like sashimi!). The wait staff tried their hardest but even when we complained nobody came out from the kitchen. Most of us left food on our plate because it was so inedible. For this rubbish meal they thought a few steamed veg and a bowl of mashed potatoes and a bottle of wine would be a good enough replacement. I would never go again - I had to go to McDonalds on my way home I was still so hungrey...

Invisible service, visible attitude. Obviously the mathematics of reservations are just too hard to teach at Seasalt in Terrigal's ritzy Crowne Plaza. It would have been nice to see if the prices matched the quality view but sadly, that's something to find out from other reviewers. Despite an empty restaurant, open for business it was too hard for the db to understand that sometimes, people really do want to eat well and leave quickly...before those with reservations arrive. C'est sera, sera.

I ordered the trio of sorbets for dessert and was pretty disappointed. The flavours tasted processed and unnatural, but the other two desserts were fantastic, especially the banana & quince tart. I tell you, this is punishment for going for the “less unhealthy” option. Never again.
