Great atmosphere, basking in the winter sun having lunch at a window table overlooking Terrigal Beach. The service was amazing and all the dishes we ordered were fantastic, well presented and very tasty. We had three courses and they all came out at a pleasant pace. The wait staff often checked to see if the food was to our liking and if we required anything. When we visit Terrigal again we will definitely return to this gem of a restaurant.
Went there to treat my wife for achieving a certain Birthday milestone..A two course meal with complimentary Starter( warm olives, speciality bread,herbal butter, dipping oil ) wine and Entrée was a great dining experience. Staff were amazing considering that the restaurant was busy, but they were on the beat . Baby Snapper and Scotch Fillet Steak for the mains were absolutely delicious. Our waiter ( Nathan) was attentive and friendly. Waiting Staff in any restaurant can make or break an establishment and the Staff there certainly MADE it a memorable occasion.
The restaurant had an incredible view over Terrigal Beach and I was glad that we had arrived early to enjoy it before it got dark outside.
The restaurant offers a set price for a 2 or 3 course menu, which includes a drink and canapes.
The canapes were Pickled Prawn, Meatballs and Bread & Olives, all of which were delicious!
For entree we had Scallops and Baby Octopus. Both were perfectly cooked, the caramelisation of the scallops was 👌👌I would have preferred something else, maybe a Cauliflower Puree instead the Corn Puree but it was nice all the same.
For mains we ordered:
- Huon Salmon
- Duck Breast x 2
- Market Fish
- Parmesan Brussel Sprouts x 2
- Pommes Frites
- Kids Steak, Chips and Salad (requested only tomatoes and cucumber)
The mains were all delicious and the flavour pairings were spot on!
We were encouraged to get 2 portions of brussel sprouts to share but we definitely only needed one as the portions were huge. I also would have liked an added wet element with them, maybe a balsamic glaze or Vincotto, as they were a touch dry, but still yummy. I also would have preferred fat chips to skinny chips, but that's always my personal preference.
The kids steak was cooked perfectly and a great size 👌
For dessert we ordered:
- Crema Catalana
- Eton Mess x 2
- Affogato
- Kids Ice-cream with Toppings
The desserts were presented beautifully. I loved the different elements in the Eton Mess, especially the Italian Meringue.
The whole dining experience was excellent, from the venue and the staff to the food and drinks.
We would definitely return if in the area!
Great view and great service. Menu selection is diverse and they are happy to make dietary alterations. Need to order sides with some main meals. A variety of cocktails and wine menu. Good space for large dinner party. Plenty of parking but if you would like eat dinner with a view, I recommend making the booking for earlier in the evening.
Whenever I visit Tarrigal Beach or The Entrance, I do visit this cafe - why? Because it has the yummiest French fries ever!!
It’s my third time and Reef Restaurant never fails to impress me. Yummy coffee, delish tasty fries and beach at the front - everyone dreams of this place!
Garlic sauce is finger licking. Definitely going back there.
