It was wonderful food and was in generous portions. Loved it value for money and recommend for anyone and very family friendly
finally found a nice Thai place in the northern suburb
Very tasty, very clean environment and service was very good. The chairs was really comfortable to sit on. The prices will really cheap with complimentary can of drink.
One of the better Thai places. Consistent. Great service. Always squeeze us in even at short notice.
Beautiful place with such friendly staff. The food was delicious. One of the best and affordable Thai restaurants in this suburb. The whole fish in garlic and ginger was the best. When paired with white rice it gave the perfect balance of sweet and saltiness. The first time I ordered the papaya salad it was delicious and well balanced, however when I went back it was a little salty.
Overall the food was delicious, cheap and the staff were fantastic. IN ADDITION to the cheap food, there was also a 10% discount when paying in cash.
Always fresh ingredients and fantastic service.
A little local gem. I’m not huge on Thai but this hit the spot and was within a great price range. I ordered the five spice chicken soup which was great albeit a little salty, and your usual red curry. Great service and a great vibe for Thomastown as well
I come here quite often! The food is fulfilling when you have Thai food cravings however, still not as authentic. You can tell they have westernised some of their dishes. Moreover, their tom yum soup is definitely the best in Melbourne.
Great honest Thai food! I regularly get takeaway dinner from Taste of Thai. My favourites are the red duck curry, chicken pad thai , curry puffs and roti! All spot on and well priced!
What a surprise, dont usually get to this side of town. Stopped here with a friend, great value lunch specials. Had the need brisket ribs with rice .. the serving was huge, literally half a cow on my plate, and tasty.
My new favourite Thai place. Their Thai fried rice is the best fried rice I have had for a while. Prawn sizzling plate was great, prawn were very fresh. And their dishes do look like the picture on the menu. Definitely will go back again.
Generous portions, one lunch mains is actually large enough for two. Green curry and pad thai were pretty authentic, will come back again. Just order the lunch specials.
This is a very popular place along the very busy High St.
The wait is long, and theres always a queue for seating.
The food and atmosphere is very good, so the wait is well worth.
Another good local place for very good Thai food.
Good food every time, the quality is good too. Very reasonably priced and very polite staff. One of our favourite places in the neighbourhood. Love theirs Tom Yum fried rice and pad kee mao.
This is our FAVOURITE Thai restaurant! The food is great quality and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is spacious and the staff are friendly and super accommodating. My favourite is the Tom Yum Fried Rice with a side of BBQ chicken. I cannot express how tasty this is!
Loved the red and green curry, chicken dim sums, spring rolls and the Thai fried rice! All dishes were made with high quality vegetables and meats, would recommend this place highly 👍🏻✅
BBQ chicken with egg noodles.
Great service, friendly environment. Cheap for the size meal you get which is a bonus! Great selection of menu! Toilets where gross and they also have a prey room for those who are covered.
Came here for my birthday dinner , I had been coming back to this restaurant many times , alway satisfied with the food , better make an appointment before you come as they are quite busy during dinner time . The dessert is my favorite, highly recommended.
lovely restaurant and delicious food, only problem my family and i had was communication about gluten free options but eventually we got some yummy meat, fried rice and veggies! unfortunately also the sizing of some dishes are quite small, otherwise was really delicious!
Big spacious Thai restaurant! Very beautiful ambience! The food was very generous portion as well! Another new place for me to visit in the northern suburbs! Will be back
Having read the reviews before I came here, I was pretty confident that it would be pretty safe. Once I saw the restaurant I knew it'd be good already. With a modern fit out, generous spacing of tables and a lot of staff on duty it just looked perfect.
So we ordered the Coconut and Chilli sauce deep fried Tilapia fish which was beautifully presented and deboned. Unfortunately the curry sauce was too salty, possibly due to the salt on the fried fish, otherwise we would have been delighted to finish it off with rice.
We also had the five spice chicken and chicken noodle soup. Both broths were spot on without much oil. They were tender and a very generous amount of noodles for the price.
Definitely a place worth visiting again in the near future. We look forward to trying more next time.
Ordered from here as a bit of a fluke and would definitely order again. The food was fresh tasty a good price.I would definitely buy there again
My Key 3 Pointers
* Finally the residents of Thomastown have a restaurant worth talking about.
* Sorry no Alcohol but fruit soda mocktails available.
* Great place for large group bookings.
This was a pleasant surprise, never thought I would actually say let’s eat in Thomastown. When I’m at my in-laws and need a bite we usually have to travel to have something decent . When this was suggested I did make an assumption about what it may be like. I was thinking I would walk into a dump but I walked into a clean, modern, busy restaurant. The food was really good and after eating some of the seafood dishes I was very impressed with the quality of produce. The portion sizes were very generous and for $100 we ate like kings. We had vegetable spring rolls, they tasted very good and not oily. Salt and pepper squid fresh chili added that burst of flavor. The squid was not chewy, cooked very well and definitely worth ordering. Massaman chicken curry with Potato was ok but I did find it a tad to sweet for my liking. The seafood stir fry hot plate was outstanding, lots of seafood prawns, fish, mussels, octopus. Beef stir fry with sesame oil and seeds, Prawn pad Thai was delicious I could have just had this and been satisfied and to top it all off the roti bread was heaven, crisp and by far the best I have had a Thai restaurant . Overall service was friendly, food came out timely and I left very satisfied thinking what should I order next time.
One peculiar Thai ...
Halal, modern English, open kitchen, well designed and spacious.
Service is okay ... Food wise; huge portion, somewhat on the sweet side authentic $15.50 Pad Thai.
Great addition to Thomastown and Reservoir food scene ... pretty good lunch. JT-08/02/2018.
We just tried this restaurant today! Absolutely amazed by their delicious food! Highly recommend the coconut rice and the fish ! We had a great time !
This place is so beautiful! Service is amazing! The staff are so friendly and all around good vibes ❤️❤️ The food was delicious. I had the iced milo and Korean shaved ice and they were great.
Always hits the spot whether im craving soup, curry or a whole fried fish. Very clean and prettily furnished if that sort of thing means anything to you, - i just come for the sensational food. The fried ice cream is to die for but my favourite dish is the five spice chicken soup. So well layered and divine.
Everything about this place was very good. It was clean and the food was amazing and reasonably priced. We ordered a couple of things from the menu which were all yummy! Would definitely recommend this place.
1st time there. Very tasty food and a
Nice potion size. We had a chicken noodle and wonton soup and a seafood laksa. The premium icecream dessert was delicious. Can’t wait to go back and take others to experience the place.
One of or the best laksa noodle soups ive had so far! Ordered it off menulog thinking itll be average and far from it! Me and the wife enjoyed it so much that we're already planning another lazy night :)
Very tasty, very clean environment and service was very good. The chairs was really comfortable to sit on. The prices will really cheap with complimentary can of drink.
Great food, cozy ambiance, awesome lunch specials. Plus there is a praying room facility. Love this place! Wish we had something like this in the South Eastern area.
Best Thai food I've ever eaten all over Victoria, dishes are clean, food is clean and yummy, not once have I found a hair in my food, service is very good. Price is reasonable

Could not fault this suburban gem!! We had chicken satay skewers, roti bread (best roti bread I’ve ever had), beef green curry with steamed rice & chicken Pad Thai . Everything was great!! Very generous serves (they happily offered take away containers for the left overs) & very reasonably priced. We were seated in the private section which was very nice & the ambience was lovely. Highly recommend..👌🏻
We visited twice and every time we come, we enjoyed the food so much. Totally fall in love with the food, especially the green curry rice and crispy gravy noodles. It's the best Thai food in Melbourne for sure. I'm allergic to MSG and it can tell it barely has MSG there. Amazing.
Updated review ***
Came back here last week to celebrate my aunts birthday. We were a party of 10 and prebooked to dine in on Tuesday night.
We ordered 10 dishes from the beef massaman curry, chicken with green curry, barramundi, beef salad, coconut rice to name a few.
However we asked for the meals to be served banquet style so we would not have to wait too long as we were all tired after arriving there straight after work.
We were assured that this would be fine - but this was not the case after waiting 50 minutes I was not too impressed as we had to chase up our food and then all the food arrived at the same time and did not fit on the table.
Overall the food is fantastic and on point with all the great flavours (as per my previous reviews) but they really need to work on timing of food as this is the second occasion we have waited over 30 min.
***
We dined here on Saturday night as a party of 5 at 7pm.
I did not bother to book as the reviews mentioned it was not too busy..but upon arriving we were advised that it was super busy and there was a 30 min wait.
We were happy to wait and I must admit the hosts was lovely and provided us sone comfy seating and shared the menu with us. They checked in every 10 min to give us an update also.
Well the wait was well worth it. Meals are ordered to be shared and every single meal ordered was packed full of flavour.
My favourite was the red curry duck yumm 😋. We also ordered the mango salad and the thai beef salad which was both tender and well seasoned.
Followed by the chicken and eggplant stir fry and the most well balanced and seasoned grilled snapper with tamarind sauce 😍😍.This was polished off with a serve each of the most flavoursome coconut rice.
We could not finish the night without enjoying the biggest fried ice cream ever! The stawberry sauce tasted artificial but the ice cream was the biggest I have ever seen...ever...
The serving of all meals was very generous and quite reasonably priced for a suburban restaurant.
It is deceptively busy as the amount of deliveries kept the kitchen very busy.
So tip make sure you book ahead Friday and Saturday nights.

The desert was the best
sorry for the horrible photos but it was too good to resist
It's a nice place on high st
Come and check it out
Was quite busy when we got here
But seems to have cleared away and much more quiet
Very nice and tasty Thai food! Very authentic recipes and plenty to choose from. Very famous for their BBQ Chicken. Prices are also good not too expensive and not cheap. The place must have been recently renovated and looks amazing. All the staff look very young and everyone is very friendly and helpful although it's not easy for them to communicate in English and a negative thing is that they speak loudly in their language in front of their customers (that always gets me upset, very unprofessional!)
All in all my experience with their food was very positive and I will come back for sure!! 😉
PROS
The restaurant was clean, the flavours where authentic and the portions were generous.
CONS
The service was slightly lack-lustre. No BYOW.
Just like the original branch. This one never disappoints
Huge servings and per person I've never had to pay more than 20-25
(This includes getting one entree)
Full of flavour and exceptional service
There's not many reviews for this place given it's fairly new but it's a good place to dine in on those lazy days not wanting to cook! Very modern interior design for a local place and I really like the vibes. Portions of the food are quite large so don't over-order like I did and end up falling in a food coma, not being able to fit in a soft serve cone maccas run for dessert. Everything that was ordered was well presented and A-OK. The curry puffs and chicken skewers stood out the most for me! Only little down side was that the salt and pepper squid was really salty for me, I had to dilute it in the laksa soup (pretty good flavour combination though). Overall I would recommend others who live nearby to give this place a try, I would go again to try other dishes since there's quite a variety to choose from.
Cheap, nice, very sweet. Not the greatest thai, buts its dam cheap. Too much sugar for my liking. Service was ok. Be careful where you sit. The afternoon sun is blinding.
This is the second time I went here for dinner. The food was delicious like last time. I ordered the Laksa noodle soup (vegetarian & tofu) and it was very tasty. Ordered the satay chicken skewers with a dip, which did not disappoint again 😋Highly recommend this as an entree if you're not allergic to nuts. You can ask to takeaway any leftover food.
I went here tonight with a few friends tonight and it was absolutely brilliant. Food was very well prepared and had lots of flavour. The waitress was very nice ans even told us that the calamari was not fresh but frozen and gave us the option of whether we still wanted to order it. Another good point which I found unique was the prayer room that was available for use for those who may be of a muslim faith etc....
The only thing I could fault about this place is that the staff could have been a bit more attentive with their service. For example the length of time finished meals and dirty dishes are left on the table to be cleared and desert and coffee is offered.
Otherwise very happy with this place and would definately go there again.
Had home delivery of this recently opened restaurant. Can't say I'm disappointed, it was quite good quality, quick service and delivery, the chicken and rice was delicious and the honey peanut butter chicken on skewers (from memory) were absolutely full of life and flavour. Definitely recommended if you enjoy a taste of Thai in the northern suburbs.
Yum yum yum, this is my new favourite place, staff are friendly and even when it's busy they manage to squeeze you in, loveeee the satay and it's so cheap
Great food. Must try tom yum fried rice, tarmaried prawn and whole fish with coconut milk and chili sauce. Really nice service and very good environment.
Woo another local thai joint! lol love a good thai! Ive actually never dined at the venue itself but Ive ordered foods twice bia menulog and it was good enough for me to return obviously!
Foods always on time (usually order at least 30min before hand). I must say i love the thai red curry, pad thai and chicken skewers the most! The flavours are great and there are plenty of foods for the prices you pay. Foods are pretty mild so if you want more of the intense thai chilly do ask for it. Have also tried the soft shell crab but that gets really soggy by the time it gets to you and the salad is pretty salty. The green curry could deal with a lil more ingredients also.
Overall very good!!!
I was pleasantly surprised with this place, its about time a decent thai restaurant opened in the area. Ordered the pad thai and panang chicken curry. Both were pretty good i must admit. Perfect that they do delivery also for them lazy nights in. I'll be back!
Clean place to eat. Restaurant itself is really spacious with a nice interior, and the kitchen is visible. The chicken noodles were nice. Ordered an entree of chicken skewers with the satay sauce which were delicious, but for some reason came out after the mains. Staff are friendly yet sometimes hard to communicate with. Portion sizes are perfect. Overall I'd go back for the satay skewers and maybe try a few different dishes!
Taste of thai is probably one of the only clean and well presented restaurants in Thomastown. It's good that they're accommodating with a halal menu and even have private dining areas and a prayer room. The food is nice and fresh, they use decent cuts of meat and plenty of vegetables. The service is decent and you can see the whole kitchen and all the chefs as they work, which gives you peace of mind if you're worried about how clean it is. Hopefully this sets the path for more decent restaurants to freshen up Thomastown a little.
also, the red curry is delicious ;)

A halal Thai restaurant. Their menu offers quite a range of Thai dishes. The food portion leans toward a generous size. Not every dish I tried fits into my liking, but some dishes were really yum!: egg noodles with chicken, fried chicken wings!!!, spicy chicken soup (and maybe Pad Thai).
This place has all the things you want in a restaurant delicious food friendly staff .The best Thai food ever 😋
The best Halal Thai restaurant. I went just 30 minutes before they close and it was fully crowded but still the friendly staffs manage to find us a table for dinning. No kidding, the service was absolutely fantastic, served food within 10-15 minutes and food was delicious.
I enjoyed the food it was yummy good customer service but didnt like the lighting where we were sitting but it was a great place to have dinner
