Review Mk's Cafe - Thomastown

Front of shop full of chain smokers. They seem like regulars and the entire half hour I was there I could smell the cigarettes. Interior was nice. I don't understand why they ask if you're going to be eating in, kebab is still in a bag. Lamb kebab I ate had fresh salad, but the lamb was tough.

Friendly service, and chose the selection/mix of food items that I wanted. High quality meats, and fresh salad with a side of delicious dips. I recommend this store for a quick, easy delicious and filling lunch. They have great snack meals too in the fridge window light lunches.

Had a classic Döner kebab. Which was absolutely fantastic. Made in with a roll of Turkish bread which I prefer over a wrap with pita bread. Juicy great quality meat. Go here

Great kebabs juicy and packed with ingredients. The cafe is welcoming and has plenty of seating on corner location in Thomastown. Once you visit I'm sure you will be back for more.🌯🌯

The HSP has hardly any meat and the chips was trash. I recommend going to Queens at southern cross. It’s only 14 and you get a mountain of meat and a drink.

One of the best Kebab shops around Melbourne! They also do a pretty mean Baklava.

Because they deserve it! A busy place that is always buzzing because they have quality food. The staff are friendly and service is quick. Keep up the good work team!

There are no venues local to me that serve my favourite iskender so when I’m in my grandmothers neighbourhood we tend to visit here. It’s by no means fancy but it is very close by to her and it satisfies the craving. Lucky we were able to get the fix just pre lockdown and now eagerly await another visit

Update
We visited MKS for dinner again and while we had been here before tonight it disappointed. Still super busy however we were told my meal would take ten minutes so we asked for all three to come together. Unfortunately the other two came first and ten minutes later I was still waiting. Yummy enough regardless but displeased with the service

Original review
I had the Iskender tonight and when it eventually arrived the meat was a little fatty and the bread too crispy, it should be soaked into the sauce and very soft. Overall I was quite unimpressed with the dish given its one of my favourites

Good quick service with delicious food. A better option then MKS because it isn’t as busy and you can have a sit down meal. Would definitely come back

Great way to start a crazy day. While I wait for my high-end Italian espresso machine to get fired up again -- it sprang a steam leak during the re-migration down from Canada -- I'm trying as many coffee shops as possible for my morning brain-stim. I've been hitting the northern suburbs hard, because I work a lot of shifts on the psycho ward at The Northern. Sometimes I'll get off the Epping line train before dawn in some suburb such as Thomastown so I can grab a coffee and then ride up to the hospital. That's why I popped into MK's the other day.

This was SO much better than most of the places that open at 6 a.m. My flat white was good, to start with. Punchy strong flavour, nicely microfoamed. The selection of Middle Eastern baked goods was great. I had a pistachio baklava which was still light and crunchy, instead of being syrup-soggy like a lot of places. And this was one that was obviously sitting around since the day before, because it was too early for a fresh delivery. (I saw the same pastries at CK's across the street, so MK's doesn't make their own.) I'm tempted to come back for the big borek triangles ($7.50) that I saw in the display case, because I'm a sucker for savoury pastry like that. Just not at breakfast, though.
