Been here a few times and the chef, Vince, has delivered a delicious breakfast every time.
The large coffee comes in what I can only describe as a small bowl with a handle.
So far I've ordered the big breakfast, pancakes, French toast, and the eggs Benedict. They have all been perfectly cooked and delicious.
On week days its just him doing it all, so service can be a little slow but the food is still amazing!

Very nice small cafe that has breakfast all day and different lunch options. Cheaper than most in the area but the quality is exceptionally good! Portion sizes also really good! Loving it! Friendly staff as well, just an all around must visit! 10/10 would recommend!

We were looking for someplace cheap and cheerful and this place delivers! I can’t believe I’ve never been here before. Ordered the Eggs on Hell and it had everything I like: eggs, goat’s cheese, chorizo and toast. They don’t skimp on servings and the service is top notch
There was no unnecessary brunch queues and needless to say it’s great value for money. I can’t recommend it enough - will definitely be back! 😘

Today we blew the lid off of one of Thornbury's best-kept secrets. The off-menu build-your-own sandwich menu at Urban Tree. This option, although advertised in the window, is top-secret and available only to top artisans in the field of sandwiches. I had beetroot with feta, tomato, and mixed salad, in a Turkish roll, and it was sensational. The price point is hotly competitive ($7.50), the ambiance pleasant, and the service friendly and efficient. If you are not good at selecting contents for a sandwich, you may wish to stick to the main menu.

This may be the least pretentious, reasonably priced cafe in Thornbury. Reminded me of the mall cafe/diners of South Auckland where I'm from. Really wonderful service, simple but delicious food with a separate vego/vegan menu and all the usual suspects. $15 for a big tasty and fresh vegan breakfast that I couldn't finish! No mid-century chic decor, no batch brew, no microherbs-just a warm homely vibe and lots of smiles.

Tons of options in Thornbury but pricier places aren't holding a candle to the quality of Urban Tree. I've never felt compelled to write a review before leaving a Cafe until now. Unquestionably the best value breakfasts in the area... I will be back!! 👌😍

If you like excellent food, great coffee and reasonable prices this is the place to go. Its the least pretentious place, looks like nothing special but the chef (Vince) makes the most amazing food. Highly recommended.

This is a little gem. Very inconspicuous you can hardly see its there. The food is to die for, cooked on the spot by the chef. Great lunch and breakfast.Don't let the fact that its on the quieter side of High st put you off.There is a blend of asian and french flavours happeneing. Best priced food for its quality all along High st. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic food and coffee. I've tried grilled barramundi and roasted vegetables, the Superfood bowl, the stir fried tofu and veg with steamed rice, and have had some great breakfasts there too. The owner and staff are very friendly and are clearly proud of the food they serve here. And the prices are very reasonable - especially given the enormous size of the dishes! Highly recommended

Great coffee, the woman making it was really friendly and attentive to your order. We also tried the vegan breakfast and eggs Benedict, generous portions and again, they were very attentive to exactly what we wanted. This place has heart. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic cafe. I have eaten there many times, and taken many friends, and every dish I have ever been served has been spectacular. The staff are very helpful, and will happily tweak the ingredients in a dish to make sure it suits my dietary requirements. Plenty of great vegetarian options too. The place is also very pet friendly. We take our dog there all the time, and the staff always come out with dog biscuits and a water bowl. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Great place!! Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Has a range suiting a number of preferences and dietary requirements. Very affordable, not the slightest bit overpriced, unlike many other cafes. Need to come here more often!

I'm addicted to the breakfast menu, and it's served all day! The food is excellent and easy on the pocket. If you just want to go and chill somewhere quiet and eat without loud music killing your eardrums, (There is music played but not to a level where you have to consider raising your voice) Good coffee too, worth a visit if you're in the area. I DON'T UNDERSTAND the 2.9 STAR RATING Average on Zomato? Reading the reviews for this CAFE are highly recommended,

Nice little place, not overly fancy (always a plus in my view), owner and staff extremely friendly and helpful. There are several food menus (possibly too many choices?) and I was most satisfied with the quality of food.
