Review Kadai King Indian Restaurant - Thornlie

What you will ask more , while the authentic food cooked for you by 30 years experienced Indian chef. Small great place with BYO. The service is friendly as this is a family own business . We visit first time with group of 16, really enjoyed and loved the chicken manchurian, hara kebab, jeera rice, paneer masala., Chicken lababdar. Recommend ❤️🙏

Went back again and again we were met with great service and delicious food. Tried the palak paneer and the beef Kadhai curry yum! Fantastic service, they went above and beyond to prepare half of our entree non spicy for our son. They even separated our left overs into two containers so we both could have equal servings for lunch thr next day. The curries were great. I'd recommend the GOA curry and the vinadaloo for the ones that like their curry HOT!

Set within a busy little shopping area, Kadai King offers a great variety of Indian cuisine which is sure to please many a diner. The staff are always friendly. A great little local restaurant that stands out for it's quality and excellent service. This really is a diamond in the rough and well worth a try.

Had a really good time there, and the customer service was fantastic. They could put a warning on the Vindaloo in regards to how hot it was before I ordered it. It was too hot for me, and I regularly get Vindaloo at Indian restaurants. To their credit, they offered to get me something else. Just wish I could have taken the heat.

The food at Kadai King is Fabulous Kudos to the Chef and people preparing the best Indian in Perth I would say keep it up guys. However................ A WORD OF CAUTION!!! to all ordering online Via their website app be prepared to be slugged with a huge levy of 5 or 6 $ PER DISH!! for only using the app to place your order, I would understand a dollar or so of surcharge per dish but this is just a rip off considering I am picking the food myself as well? so please do your self a favor and call the phone number on the website and place your order directly with the restaurant. I hope people can benefit from my lesson learnt.

Ordered Chicken Korma, Lamb Rogan Josh, Dal, Garlic Naan, Saffron Rice and Vege Samosas. Food was spot on and portions were way bigger than expected. Quick delivery via Uber Eats. Would definitely recommend to others and will definitely order from here again.

If you're craving Indian food that is of great quality and reasonable prices this is your go-to place. The curries are fresh, flavourful and served in large portions. The naan bread is soft, fluffy and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and I think that it is one of the best Indian restaurants in Perth!

Ordered take away for my dinner. Honestly, it’s the best Indian food I ever had. Highly recommended to those who fancy Indian food. Would definitely go back again. Good work chef

Very good quality food, well worth every cent! I usually get take away from here and eat it at home and I always smile after every mouth full. Very authentic, tasty and satisfying. Thankyou very much Kadai King, keep up the good work!

A beautiful restaurant. Excellent Indian cuisine like no other. Chefs cover both South and Morth Indian foods, just ask. The area is quite a bad one, but the inside is quite nice. Quiet and good lighting. Quite pricey, but you get your moneys worth. Very friendly staff. Food is 10/10, would buy again.

Second time ordering food here and would highly recommend to anyone. The food is absolutely worth worth every cent. The flavours were spot on and the customer service exceeded expectations

Ordered take away last night over the phone, customer service was flawless - ordered the Chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and tandoori chicken, with a side of saffron rice, garlic naan and cucumber raita.
Told on the phone the wait would be 25 minutes which was reasonable - when i arrived was ready and hot.
Both curries were tasty and flavoursome, as was the tandoori chicken however the tandoori chicken had dried out/overcooked being inside an aluminium bag with the steam continuously circulating (perhaps if I had lived closer and opened the bag sooner may have been a different story).
While the curries were tasty the sauce to chicken ratio was off - 2/3 sauce 1/3 chicken.
The raita and naan bread were perfect sides, full flavoured plentifull and again tasty.
I see many of the reviews complain about pricing, yes slightly on the steeper side but not unaffordable.
Would definitely recommend, and always room for improvement. Would go back!
The food is so good every time. We've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. We recommend Kadai King to all our friends and family who also now adore this place!
Authentic beautiful curry. Food is tasty, the aroma gets the juices flowing and every bite leaves you wanting more. It is a family run restaurant. Small and cosy. Can definitely recommend it.

If your love indian food and your after authentic Indian - then go no further than this place. We don't dine in here to be honest as it does need a slight re-vamp / renovation but take away is always on time, no longer than a 20 minute wait. We usually get 2 entrees, 2 mains, rice, condiments, naan bread and papadums for about $55.00!! You just cant go past good authentic indian! We have this at least once a month. This feeds me and my partner plus leftovers for dinner the next day. The owners are just lovely people and very friendly.

Being a business owner Kadai King need to understand survival of business. may be too pricey in terms of test and quality. Will never visit again.

Great Indian restaurant. owners are very friendly and sociable. Loved everything we ordered. Had a share entree for starters, maybe too much, but it was just soooo good. For mains, I had the Mysore lamb which was delicious, rich, spicy and medium hot. Wife loved her butter chicken as she isn't keen on anything hotter, plus rice and serve of garlic naan. We needed a doggy bag, which we enjoyed again the following night, fed us and our boy, so in that respect it is good value. Can't believe we had this gem right under our noses all this time.

Always great food. A little expensive, but well worth it. The best takeaway for indian food I have had for a long while. It is a pity the restaurant itself looks pretty awful and dated otherwise we would probably dine in quite often.
Mo Loves Chilli
Delicious butter chicken, probably the best in thornlie but prices are quite high for serving size. There is a huge variety of curries to choose from but I only ever get takeaway as the inside isn't somewhere that looks nice to dine in

Good Indian Food, but a little pricey. The quality of food here is really good, but it is a little more expensive than other options around Spencer Village. Worth the money though

A hidden gem in Spencer Village! One of the best Indian restaurants I have tried. Don't let its unassuming appearances fool you, the quality of the cooking and friendly service will undoubtedly impress!

Are you sure.. its very, very hot... I like my hot curry.. especially a nice Vindaloo... my first experience with Kadai King was definitely an eye opener.. Good evening, Id like a beef Vindaloo takeaway please.. are you sure sir, Its very, very hot.. in the cutest indian accent I can muster... 'I like it hot' said the dude thats never been to the sub continent and should probably learn to head advice.. This Vindaloo, even once I removed the chillies.. was stinking F*&kin hot!!!! I ended up separating the takeaway container into 3 meals.. just so I could eat it.. The flavour was awesome.. and the smell to die for.. Ive got beads of sweat on my forehead as I type this.. considering a milder dish next time I pay Kadai King a visit.. very impressed.. Highly recommend them.. just gotta be a bit tougher than me if ya want hot!!! trust me, thats saying something... youll love the joint!!!

Fabulous Indian food and great service!. This place makes the most delicious Indian food! My mum grew up in India so has a very picky palette for indian food, I looked all over urbanspoon for a great place and drove all the way out there to get it for her, It was sooo worth it!!

Yum Yum Yum!

User reviews. Took us a little while to find, but were glad when we did. Friendly, prompt service and lovely, really tasty food. Some of the best Indian food in Perth - and we have tried a lot. Not exactly in our neighbourhood but we'll be going out of our way to go back here again!

Incredible. After going here for a couple of years and trying others, I have yet to find a true contender. Excellent food and service that far exceeds the price paid.

Best food & service. Kadai king is a little gem of an Indian restaurant. The food is always on point and topped with excellent service from the owners. Being going there for couple of years now and highly recommend it to anyone.

Average food!. The food from Kadai king Thornlie was just average! After informing, that we would like the chicken curry mild, my son could barely eat it as it was so spicy. The chicken pieces in the curry looked liked they were just boiled and coated with curry! Never again will we go to this place! Disappointed!

Authentic Indian Food. My husband and I were so happy when we found Kadai King. After living in England for many years and experiencing so many wonderful Indian restaurants we had not been able to find somewhere that was close to us south of the river. Kadai Kings food is amazing. We have had takeaway from there too many times to count now and have never had a bad dish. I personally don't like the restaurant set up and would not choose to dine in there, but I can't fault the food and friendly staff. An absolute gem :)

I'm a huge fan of Indian Food and this place is the BEST Indian I've ever had!!! Tasty, spicy, fresh, tender meat and lots of it - not just a whole lot of sauce. Seriously to die for :))

Butter chicken. The butter chicken was amazing will go back for sure

Best Indian restaurant in West Australia!. My family, myself and all of our friends have been going to Kadia King for years. Best curries in Perth, we have tried most Indian restaurants around Perth and nothing compares. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming. All of their food is amazing, and we have had nearly everything on the menu. The naan bread is delicious and I always look forward to going there for dinner. Takeaway portions are a really good size. Cannot fault Kadai King. There restaurant may not be flash, but who cares when the food is that good.

Good. Generally quality food, but pricey. Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan are great

One of the nicestest vindaloos. One of the more tasty vindaloos, nice vinegar sour flavour, would be the best I have had in Perth.

Ordered some takeout from Kadai King on a whim while hubby and I were both on the mend after being ill and craving Indian but couldn't be bothered going into the city for to one of our regulars. After previously trying the abysmal Indian Village Restaurant in Maddington which is fairly highly rated I wasn't sure what sort if meal we were actually going to get after reading the positive reviews for Kadai King. I'm pleased to report not only was it super cheap ($45 for 2x meat curries, 3x naans and rice!) but the tastiest local Indian I've found to date. The service was friendly, the curries were fresh and flavoursome and the naan was fantastic. Definitely a good choice for a lazy night when you need some comforting and tasty takeout!
Gursewak Singh Kahlon
Awesome food , paneer masala was brilliant and no need to say about naan breads go and try it.

Delicious, every time!. We've been patrons of Kadai King for a couple of years, getting take-away and dining in. For those that have only tried the take-away, you must try dining in. The staff are always so welcoming and attentive. The food is absolutely amazing and is always of the highest quality.

The Best Indian in Perth. We got hooked on this Indian whilst living in Thornlie after trying loads of Indians in Perth Kadai King is simply the best. We have now moved to Ellenbrook and tried quite a lot North of the River but to no avail, we now travel 40 min each way for our fix and is always worth it. You will not find a better Indian outside the UK than this one

Best Indian in Perth. After searching for a good Indian after several years we had almost given up on our craving for that authentic Indian taste. However,a very good Indian friend of ours recommended Kadai King that had recently opened only a few minutes drive from my place. After our first meal we have been hooked ever since, nothing else in Perth can touch this place for consistent high quality and professional welcoming staff.I have recommended many people too and they have never looked back eather. So wherever you live in Perth this little jewel is 100% worth a trip out .......Enjoy ( Eat in or Takeaway)

Excellent quality Indian Food. We have regular takeaways which are simply fantastic and very authentic. We are Malaysians and have experience with Indian cuisine so we know this is top rate food. Our kids love it. The premise needs a spruce but the food is worthy of the most classy Indian restaurant in Perth. Our favorites are Palak Paneer, Fish Masala, Lamb Mysore and Chicken 65. Takeaway portions are generous and the way to go. Indian food tastes better when reheated. But beware, the food is really spicy hot; we have to order extra mild for our kids.

The Fabulous Indian ! Have .... The Fabulous Indian !
Have been a couple times to kadai king and the food is just amazing. tandoori chicken is best in Perth - perfectly cooked, juicy, and huge flavor. Not to be missed. Lamb dishes are also perfectly seasoned and well cooked. Kashmiri naan is to die for.

Simply the best. This has got to be the best indian around, have tried all the others south of the river but Kadai King wins hands down. A must !
Leukos
One of the Best Indian places in Perth. We had the Beef Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Palak Paneer.
Top notch. Highly Recommended!!!!
Jess
Best!. We found Kadai King when we moved back to the area and were looking for a decent Indian place. Everywhere we tried was awful, particularly in comparison to the local place in our last house. Kadai King is so delicious, we've had take-away twice and just ate in tonight. The take-away was pretty damn good, but I was blown away eating in! The food was so fresh and delicious, and the serving sizes are VERY generous! Couldn't have been happier. Staff are lovely and friendly as well. Could've used a bigger drink selection, but eh!
Melina Vocisano
Bland & overpriced. Cost almost $40 for a vege curry, chicken korma, garlic naan & rice - completely overpriced when the meal can only be compared to food court food.
Chicken korma, bland, no taste at all!
Naan- flavourless, dry & overcooked.
Vege kadi was the best but i have def had better at other places.
I wont be going back
Mike
"The best indian restaurant". Due to my love of Indian food, I have tried most Indian restaurants in perth and kadai king is by far the best. Everything from food to service is of highest quality! I recommend it to all my friends :) i m sure u will love it :)

We try to have Kadai King at least once a week. The best Indian food in Perth. The Chicken Korma and Lamb Madras are favourites but the whole menu is delicious. If you live in the southern suburbs you really won't find a better Indian restaurant.
