Review Sezanas - Toorak

Excellent service and delicious food. Generous portion sizes and every element was tasty. One of the best hollandaise sauces I’ve tried. French toast was positively drenched in maple syrup- so good!!

The best coffee in Melbourne. Full stop!! The service is phenomenal and personable. The food is always hot and served fast and the interior is unique and welcoming. The smiles of the people behind the counter made my day - every day - for an entire year. They kept me going through lockdown and I wouldn’t have survived without their coffee! Thank-you guys!!

Nice food and environment. My partner and my breakfast came out 10-15 minutes apart which wasn’t idea. Coffee was good!

A kind and friendly staff serves nice coffee. I have just got a takeaway coffee, but the atmosphere in this cafe was so good, I'll be sure to sit a table and have some food next time!

A long standing part Toorak Village. Casual, relaxed and a good place to have a quiet coffee and cake or breakfast and read the paper. I stopped by waiting for a nearby doctors appointment as they recommended Sezanas. Fairly busy but friendly. Nice array of cakes and prepared wraps and rolls, I haven't tried a meal here. Handy corner location on Mathoura Road with outside seating. Kiddie & dog friendly.

Can't say it simpler, these guys do coffee really really REALLY well! You can walk in, order a double ristretto latte and they won't even blink. True experience behind the counter.

Bruno’s coffee skills are second to none. Always feels like we are visiting family anytime we drop by. Awesome team (and coffee)

Ordered smashed avo with feta and the avocado came white instead of green, looked as if they ran out of avocado. Did not taste fresh. Staff were not helpfull, they were rude and did not look interested.

A comfortable atmosphere accompanied by good food and incredibly friendly service.

Quite a wide range of options and decent prices. The chocolate milkshake and pancakes were delicious and service is relatively quick. The eggs and bacon breakfast is also a great option.

A great place to visit after exploring Toorak Village.

This place is famous around these parts for the breakfast special they offer. That offer used to be tremendous value when it was $10, now at $12 in direct competition with Funkies across the road - it fails to impress like it used to. The service is pretty good and the eggs themselves are beautifully done but the coffee was only average all the times I have been.

Nice coffee. Fresh, appetising sandwiches and sweets. Really nice gelato. Nice, air conditioned place. Reasonably priced. Pop in if you want a cool treat, or some lunch 😎

I think this is another of Tooraks classic institutions . Recently renovated, during these renovation times they left their potted herbs outside so you know this place is fresh and they're about it.

Check out the murals on the wall and take in the yellow facade. Sit outside on a summers day with every man and his dog in Toorak (so many dogs here so you know it's pet friendly). Pick up a fresh squeeze juice or an ice cream. Take a coffee in the winter. You are welcome to sit inside and work as well as I observe many people doing

Top notch coffee and great no frills breakfast menu, always my go to pit stop café when I'm in the area getting a cut next door or shopping :)

Oh poffertjes deliciousness!!! These guys do the best cheap brunch in the village - little pancakes covered in butter with sugar and maple syrup. So good.

Lots of panini and pies in the display, but the fresh juices here are great - flu fighting and perfect for the cooler months coming up.

Lots if seating outside if you have a pram as there is a little step and door to sit in - but they make great coffee too! $27 for me and my little one with a bit left over. So good!

Great little cafe. My personal favourites are:
- cannelloni
- chicken sandwich on thick bread
- eggs
Will always return when I'm over that side of town. Good fast service. Must try the Dutch pancakes!!

My espresso was weak, watery and burnt. I had to add sugar to make it palatable!Food was very average. Poorly seasoned, and baked beans from a tin, not home made, as you would expect.

Coffee is the best around Toorak village. Good body, nice aroma and soft-smooth aftertaste... can't say no to it! haven't tried anything on the menu.

What I can only assume were the owners, a husband and wife team, we're the rudest most insulting couple I've come across in a while. The man who served at the till was apparently not in the mood to say one single word, so decided to stare at us with this arrogant look on his face because we asked for eggs Benedict with salmon, instead of ordering the eggs Scandinavian. We simply didn't realise and instead of correcting us politely he stared till the time lapsed was ridiculous and his smug wife decided to tell us in the rudest way possible that we wanted eggs Scandinavian. Pretty beyond disgusted by this kind of snobbery. Toorak my have this reputation but nowadays you would expect to just act civilised and be kind to any and all PAYING customers. Unfortunately I am not one to lie, so I will admit the food was lovely but the service made me never want to return. I don't need to be rudely judged by the owners of a cafe for a simple mistake.

Sezana’s has the best Mini Dutch pancakes (poffertjes) in town. Served piping hot with vanilla ice cream and drizzled generously with Maple syrup, these little morsels of heaven were to die for.

Corinne Thompson. Sezana's make the best coffees in Toorak. We have breakfast there regularly and see trades calling in for their coffee on their way to work, locals picking theirs up on the way to their office's and others, who like us, go each morning for breakfast. Great all-day breakfast special of eggs (any way), bacon and coffee and a good choice of other breakfast dishes, all well cooked and cheerfully served. Good range of luncheon dishes, plus sandwiches, rolls, etc., and lovely cakes for morning and afternoon teas. The owners are always present and the service is excellent. Do try them, you will be pleased that you did.

Disappointing, went for four weeks in a row due to a friend working there who had recommended. Every week my order was mistaken. Ran out of chances, be weary!

I actually made an account on urban spoon just so I could comment on these guys. Took my father here and we both got the turkey foccasias which really should be a safe bet. They both tasted as if they had been sitting behind the counter (or on the floor) for a week, the avacado might as well have been made of rubber. Dads quote "I want to go back and throw up on the counter." Not good. Disappointing considering the prime location and the price. Such a shame.

"Great coffee" I've only just started comming here for food and coffee... It's so hard to find a good coffee around town, food is great where Sezanas makes mean burgers, pies any etc... Staff are very friendly here and I am a very happy and satisfied customer who will be returning :)

Inviting. Been coming here for years, coffee is great, food is great value owners are friendly. If you are after reliable and consistent this is the place to go.

Wanda wandering. Okay I eat /drink out a lot, tried here and wont be back. The 'owner' s too grumpy, looks like he eats lemons permanently, staff unattentive and OMG the coffee was truly awful and I had 2 sips. I didn't eat , but attempted to try to order but no-one seemed interested in my order. I WONT be back, plenty of lovely coffee places everywhere. NOT RECOMMENDED

Horrible Coffee. The worst coffee I have ever had to choke down. I saw the coffees being made, and then stand for well over two minutes waiting to be delivered to our table. Coffee should be placed on the diners table before the layers separate, not that that would have helped these.
Intolerance
No service whatsoever. Completely ignoring customers

After waiting to order for 5 minutes (while the staff were chatting) I was served. I ordered a coffee and BLT, after I had paid and the kitchen docket was printed I asked for a slice of cheese to be added. The response from the old grumpy man serving me was "well you could've told me before I printed the docket" In my personal hospitality experience, which is a mere 20 years in the industry, I would have to say customer service is essential. And what I received at this cafe was AWFUL. if your running a cafe, your offering a service. If a customer annoys you, get over it. It's part of hospitality. Don't sigh and make it out to be a hassle that I am paying for your over priced, incredibly average food.

Cold environment and unfriendly staff. Food was average. Not coming back here ever again.

AWESOME!!. From the moment i walked in the door, the coffee shop had a warm and inviting feel! the coffee was really nice, and the food was exceptional. i would defiantly recommended this place to anyone looking for a nice place to sit, have a coffee and a meal!!
Beautyquintessence
GREAT. Had the best Chicken Caesar Salad here and a lovely coffee. Service exceptional, friendly and fast. Would highly recommend to anyone for a quick lunch or a coffee with friends in the outside area.

Dated, mediocre fare. My boyfriend lives in Toorak and it's impossible to find a place with decent coffee!

He dragged me to Sezana's for breakfast a week or so ago. Well, pretty drab and dated. The breakfast menu was unimaginative and every add on was $3+ (for avo, bacon etc).

The coffee was mediocre and too hot. The service was adequate. I won't be returning unless i am absolutely desperate or someone is shouting me a meal.

Not the best place in Toorak for coffee. We visited a couple of months ago when the weather was getting cooler, looking for somewhere warm for a nice coffee, lunch and maybe some dessert. Was horrified - flies on pretty much every table we walked past, pallid-looking rolls and sandwiches and loud, inappropriate conversations coming from the wait staff. Nevertheless, we ordered something from the menu (not the sandwich cabinet) - I ordered the Danish poffertjes and my partner ordered the beef burger. The mini pancakes were sweet enough and freshly cooked, and the burger was, well, satisfactory. Not worth the price though. Don't know how this place is so popular; there are plenty of other cafes in the area that make much better coffee, food and service, and give better value for money.

Nice sunny terrace. This is one of the best location for easy going coffee and cakes. The terrace is sunny and charming, and the coffees and cakes are good. Value is excellent for Toorak Village.
Mark B
Surprisingly poor coffee and cold food. Reasonable service but needs to improve to compete with other local cafes, has best location on the strip.
Rhodri
Excellent Coffee. The best coffee around. Great service. Check it out.
