Review Jillys Cafe - Toowoomba

Very clean, pleasant surrounds. Friendly staff and a wide range of items on menu. Had an iced latte which was presented deconstructed. Nice touch. Had the haloumi open sandwich, and steak sandwich very very nice. On street parking can be challenge due to location (visited on a Saturday 1pm).

Friendly staff, good coffee, but very average food. Ordered Eggs Benedict: 2 hard boiled "poached" eggs, super salty bacon, and hollandaise that was so thick it was basically custard and no flavour (I've had better from a jar)... When going to pay, wasn't asked how everything was, wasn't asked for any feedback. I didn't have time to talk to anyone about it, or wait for a new order to be made. Could be a very nice Cafe, but just missed the mark.

Very cool little coffee shop that even has its own function room upstairs. Staff are so so friendly and exceptionally good lookin. Coffee was magical and can't wait for breakfast to be served. Gave me a menu but I like to just ask for the chef to make me their best meal. Can't wait. Definite 5 stars for this deadly little shop. Oh and when I ask if the staff want to be "Famous", it's usually a resounding "No." These girls aren't shy or paranoid so that's another star. This little coffee shop definitely ticks all the boxes for me.

Dad & Daughter breakfast and what a pleasant surprise! Hidden gem here. Good & timely service, coffee & milkshake was well put together with the Jilly’s big breakfast the standout. The mushrooms are an absolute must… Great atmosphere, great food, good staff, we will be back.

Best iced mocha ever !!! Very delicious food! We got the big jilly, steak sandwich and chicken avo Sanga. Very tasty, friendly service, will definitely be back. One of Toowoomba’s hidden gem !

Great little cafe located in the heart of the CBD. Jillys is a clean, busy cafe with a welcoming atmosphere. Food is amazing! I recommend you try the Canadian Pancakes you won’t be disappointed. 5 stars from me Jillys Cafe.

Really enjoyed our breakfast, savoury mince on toast was really enjoyable. Fresh OJ was the best I’ve had. Staff were polite and professional and would highly recommend. Good country hospitality. 👍🏽

Seems like they were severely understaffed I got my meal about 10 minutes before my coffee that I ordered before ordering my meal. The food was average and so was the coffee which was disappointing as they had decent enough reviews and holding on to some very old newspaper awards. I might have just gone on an off day but I don’t think I’ll find out as I don’t plan on returning.<br/>Food - 6/10<br/>Staff - 7/10<br/>Environment - 5/10

Very very good food for breakfast. Staff is friendly and trying hard, i couldn't find any fault. Tried the breakfast special with poached eggs, coleslaw and chicken and it was fantastic! Also returned in a rush and got the best bacon egg bagel i have ever had (well i haven't had that many... but it was really yummy). Fresh natural juices sealed the deal for me. I see some tough reviews here but they appear to be quite old... things probably have changed. I'm SO coming back, good job guys!

Yummy food and great value! The staff are kind and courteous. My partner and I both enjoyed our meals and the pleasant atmosphere, we will be back! Worth a visit for sure.

Don't let the somewhat dated exterior fool you - the interior is gorgeous. We were pleasantly surprised the Friday l night we walked in here having struggled to find anywhere with tables available. Good service, nice wine list, and fresh food.

Had my second visit about 8 months apart. Nice tea and sandwich in good central location. We were served quickly, all arrived on time and reasonable price for a Sunday morning. Worth a longer look.

Menu is good with a selection of specials that change regularly. Good price and good value. Coffee is OK, but I wouldn't got just for that. The cakes look amazing. Food can take a while to come when it's busy.

Don't bother going for a high tea. Had my baby shower here recently. Must say, very dissapointed. For a $20/person "high tea" you would expect a nice coffee or tea atleast, no you get filtered coffee that is disgusting or a tea bag. There weren't even enough finger sandwiches for one each, you pay $20 for disgusting coffee from a pot/ standard tea from a tea bag, some stale scones, and a few pieces of slice/biscuits that were nothing special at all. Definitely not worth it. We also had to pay for people that did not attend, yet there was hardly enough food for who was there. For a decent high tea, go to cafe valetta.

Terribly Gloomy Wait Staff. I went to Jilly's yesterday for cake and coffee and had a great time except for one thing.....moody, uninterested, gloomy, attitude-ridden wait staff. There was one blonde female waiter who honestly ruined our experience. She didn't smile once, talked to us with snappy attitude and walked around while dragging her feet. She didn't want to be there and I felt like walking out! If you don't want to work, leave, there are many other people who would like your job!

Sunday Breakkie was great today - Zucchini pancakes & bubble and squeak... Service was good and food was wonderful! We'll be back :)

Regular customer to Jillys however my recent experience turned my off going there full stop. Took forever for my order to be ready, and this was on a quiet day, and once I had it it was only partially there. The extras I paid for weren't there so I had to return and didn't receive an apology. Once I began eating I noticed the bottom of the bread was soggy because it had been sitting in avocado which wasn't even on my sandwhich! So they either gave me a dirty container or put my sandwhich down on a dirty bench, so half of my sandwhich was green and soggy. <br/><br/>The manager is great, and so are a few girls but majority of girls that work there seem 'fake nice'. <br/><br/>Will not return after this experience.

Port in the storm. We were so grateful that Jilly's was open this morning - Queen's Birthday and the rain was pouring. We were politely warned of a long wait but the drinks and food didn't take too long considering. Eggs benedict with bacon would have been top notch but I suspect it was left sitting for a while -- the otherwise yummy, lemony Hollandaise had "stuck" to the eggs, which were pretty firm. No runny yolk for me! However the service was slick, the coffee was decent and I give extra points for being open when most other places were shut.

Good Atmosphere. The coffee and service were fine. Liked sitting in the front window looking out onto the street.

Nice cafe, nothing fancy but the coffee is good and the cakes are fluffy and sweet. Haven't tried the food but have heard mixed reviews from friends who have. Good for a late night hot chocolate after the movies!

Lovely place. Jilly's is easily my favorite cafe in Toowoomba, have been going there for years. The service is always friendly with a relaxed atmosphere, and the cakes are to die for. I've introduced numerous friends to their beer battered wedges, and all have been won over completely.

Good service, terrible food and coffee. I ordered the steak sandwich which for$17 you would think would be something half decent. Tomato slices were thicket than the steak and it was served on a slice of white bread. Not very inspiring. My wifes risotto was ok and the chips were good. The coffee was horrible. Sour, bitter, well over extracted. Undrinkable. Won't go back.

Great place for late night drinks and dessert.

Had breaky at Jillys with a bunch of friends .....Service was great ......food and coffee was very ordinary ....show <br/>a bit more love and pazazz in your food harshbrowns were like eating cornflakes
