Not as good as I remember but still a good pub feed. The cafe section is a nice addition and the food is consistent and tasty. Good variety on the menu and nice specials.
Excellent food, excellent service. This place is really trying to compete with Brisbane restaurants and is doing exceptionally well .
Friendly Staff , great service , good value , beautiful food , plenty to choose from menu & plenty of parking.
They also supply a courtesy Bus.
Thoughly Recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Delicious New Menu. My partner and I returned to Fire and Ice to try the new menu and it was delicious! I love the selection of fresh pastas and starters that have been added to the menu. My companions and I started with the trio of dips, the mixed seafood plate and the mezza plate. All were stacked with lots of flavours and were perfect to pick at while we sipped our wine and look at the menu.
I ended up ordering the Fettucine Arrabiata on a staff recommendation, and was it ever delicious! Fresh and flavoursome and not at all heavy - perfection. My companions had the prawn risotto and the coriander infused spaghetti with fresh Queensland sand crab. Both raved about their meals as well.
I must mention the staff here, as they were attentive, interested but not at all intrusive. We received smiles all night long, which is a welcome change after visiting other establishments.
Delicious new menu chef! And very well done everyone - we had a wonderful night and will be back.

A delightful surprise. Fire and Ice is a wonderful surprise. It has the basics covered, but also has some lovely dishes like the twice cooked pork belly. I dined here with my mother and partner and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. They were quite busy, but all entrees and mains arrived in good time. We ordered a garlic pizza crust and the seafood trio to start, followed by that fantastic pork belly, a fettuccini carbonara and a rib fillet. The steak was perfectly medium and the choice of sides included was appreciated.
I hear that their chef is planning a new menu for the cooler months and we are looking forward to returning to try it!
Not your ordinary pub restaurant. I was staying in Toowoomba on business and decided to give The Southern Hotel a go. It was a Tuesday night and they had a steak special on for only $11.95 and I thought well it wont be that big so I might get some bread and dessert later. the bread had just the right amount of garlic and cheese and was enough for 6 people - not the usual Pappa Guisseppi frozen bread you get in most country hotels. The steak was a 200gm sirloin and served with my choice of sauce, chips and salad....and the portions were not the usual two chips and a lettuce leaf......the salad was on of the best pub steak salads I have had in a while. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert.....throw in a couple of schooners and I was fed and watered for under $30
It was a great surprise to see a hotel providing great quality at an affordable price....I will be back
