Review Schnitz - Toowoomba

Amazing quality food, that offer both regular and vegan options. The chips here are to die for. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals came out exactly how I ordered them and in a good time frame considering the quality of the schnitzel!

It took half an hour to receive our lunch. $8.50 for a fairly ordinary mini wrap is too much. Staff didn’t bother to ask to see our check-in tick. Staff didn’t wear their masks and/or didn’t wear them properly in food prep area or to serve customers or deliver food to tables. Even (what looked to be) the manager didn’t bother wearing a mask in the food prep and customer service areas. The tables were not clean.

Paid $14 for a vegetarian parmageddon, Was met with a thoroughly unimpressive and staggeringly bland burger which was ice cold. I inquired with staff and was horrified at their explanation, I was informed that the sauteed mushrooms on my burger were prepared as a batch before opening (~10 hours beforehand), gross. Nevermind unpleasant, this is downright unsafe, I hope no-one gets sick eating here. Betty's burgers are right next door, for gods sake go there instead.

Good food, great service. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Girl behind the serving bar with the name tag Victoria had a bad attitude and was unfriendly towards other staff members, the serving sizes of the chips where poorly sized and the plates where presented badly, the work ethic of other staff members was poor and quiet disappointing.

This would make it my 5 star restaurant only of the main meat used in meal was at least twice as generous. The chips was quite tasty and well seasoned and both the garden salad and the coleslaw were very fresh and nice. I personally enjoyed the Parma better with a very nice thick layer of tomato sauce however both variations of pork and chicken were very thinly sliced which was a bit underwhelming. Overall for the price range of $15~17 I'd say the overall experience was very nice.

Let’s be honest right from the word go here. The 4 stars isn’t for the food now. It’s more for the memories. Of how amazing Schnitz used to be. It’s sad to think there was a point where my fiancé and I would eat this once every 2-3 weeks and I would look so forward to it. Now however things have changed. The last two times we have been it’s been off. The second last time the burgers tasted as if they were off. And the chips were undercooked And then today when we went the burgers had that much sauce that we couldn’t taste anything but the sauce. Our chips had that much salt on them I finished a 600ml drink before I’d even eaten 1/4 of them. We got a kids meal today and it was the same, over sauced and the sweet potato chips were more salt than chips It’s not to say it’s all bad there don’t get me wrong lovely staff and I love the fact they have high chairs for little ones. It’s just a real shame how it’s not as it used to be.

Great selection of seasonings for schnitzels and choice between garden salad or slaw with your protein choice for $14.90. Vegan option available as well as beef and chicken. I would definitely say the portion size has gotten smaller since i last ate here.
