Review Hana Japanese - Toowoomba

Not a bad little sushi place. I was referred to here by a local who swears by it. I must have gone there during a lull, because there wasn't really much at all on the train and I was the only one in there. The menu is decent and the service is quick.

Never get enough, again and again. Great sushi and friendly waitresses. 15 stacks of plates just for 2 people.

It is always busy at lunch time & the place has a great vibe. The food is fresh & a good variety. My favourite? The cup of green tea I have with my sushi, makes it all the more authentic for me. It's not fine dining but if you want quality food in a timely manner, well worth a visit.

Teppanyaki at Hana Sushi is fantastic. Will is a very talented and friendly chef, the food was all prepared excellently and of high quality and after some of our party were late, the staff managed the situation perfectly to serve everyone and ensure no-one felt like they were held up or rushed through their meal. Overall very impressive, especially for such a young part of the business! I recommend it to everyone, this is the type of meal experience that leaves you thoroughly entertained and full of different foods that are each as perfectly delicious as the last.

Tried the teppanyaki this evening. The food was really nice and a good mixture. We had the seafood set. Chef was friendly and prepared great and entertaining food. Was let down by the decor. Harsh white lighting, plain white walls and a lino floor. No music. So it was very silent and bright. Food choices could have been more interesting too. But overall, good experience.

I'm no connoisseur, but I really enjoyed the lunch I've just finished. Prices seem pretty standard. It's a little classier than I was expecting, my can of coke came with a glass of ice, and they've got a decent selection of booze at the bar.

Great service. I was there picking up a takeaway order and they were absolutely packed. They didn’t have what I wanted on the train so I decided to wait for my order. Because it took a while they offered me a free drink which I declined but I very much appreciated the great customer service.

I was not particularly happy with the quality of the sushi. The rolls on the conveyor belt were not refreshed oftwn and I did not see any taken back because a maximum time was expired. The rolls were uneven rolled and cut. Some were very thick. Some rolls had the uneven endings which should have been cut of. The salmon sashima was sliced in a way I have never experienced it earlier in a sushi restaurant. I don't know if it is how it is should be or not, but I didn't find it appealing to have my full slice covered in the silver underskin.

Love the food here and service, come all the time and it's amazing. For anyone new I always recommend at sushi trains to order food for freshness rather than grab it from the actual train haha ironic I know, but definitely recommend this place!

Still the best sushi place in Toowoomba. Highly recommended.

Got there for our reservation at 7.00 to be told table wouldn’t be ready for a further 20-30 minutes what’s the point of booking a table if you aren’t even going to be able to seat us we had children with us so we left as that’s not acceptable at all in my eyes

Went to hana tonight expecting the usual loaded train of delicious but it was bare, got my green tea and waited for 15min for something to come out but nothing came along. Ordered a chicken curry out of desperation as I was starving (I usually rack up 10+ plates) waited for ages for it to come out and when it finally arrived it was lukewarm at best, no refills on tea and barely any attention from staff when I was trying to order, would have to be the worst experience I've had there to date, which is sad to say as it used to be my favourite spot to eat and I was more than happy to drive across town for it. What happened to you guys

Friendly atmosphere, great selection of dishes and a competitive price. It gets my vote for Sushi in Toowoomba.

We had lunch at Hana Sushi today. It took us a while to find it in a little shopping centre at the end of Margaret Street near Hume Street. If it weren't for the sign that said "open" and the fact it was after 1pm and we were really hungry we would have kept walking. Once inside it looked quite nice but I am always disappointed when there is a train as there usually aren't any other good options. From what I could work out there weren't ANY other options here (i.e. no meals). We decided to stay and see what the sushi was like but it was actually very average. My first was a prawn sushi which was room temperature and I suspected it had been going around for several hours. I wanted the grilled salmon but couldn't find any so ordered it. It came out fresh. It tasted good but fell apart while I was eating it. After two plates each we decided we didn't want any more. It just wasn't nice enough.

Bastardised sushi. We have been here twice. We went here only because of the tamago sushi, which is our daughter's favorite and which we were too lazy to make ourselves. In a nutshell, the sushi here is not real sushi. The rice in the sushi does not even come close to what real sushi rice should taste like. The tamago sushi is so lacking in flavor that we have ended up blaming ourselves every time for even trying to go to this place.

We dine here regularly with our 3.5 yr old boy who loves the place (what 3 yr wouldn't) & happily eats a variety. I sometimes find they don't have enough sashimi variety but a quick mention to the wait staff & it's quickly resolved. A big plus for authentic Japanese beverages - the sake last night was great!

I love this place, I wish I could eat sushi for literally every meal...

Once in a while something unusual bestows an unusual place and it is such with the HANA Japanese Sushi Restaurant which has operated out of Toowoomba for some while now...

We would rate 6/10 for the overall food presentation and taste. It'd be a plus if they could make fresh sushi for the customers upon request. <br/>
