Review China World - Torquay

We ate here for dinner on a Sunday night in October 2021 and the food was excellent. The mean reviews don't make sense to me. Perhaps they are from friends of the competition. It happens. Please check my photos and decide for yourself whether that looks yummy. It was. No after effects, no oversalting or msg. The service was excellent. The place was lovely and clean. Highly recommended. If we had stayed longer, we definitely would have come back. Very reasonable prices. Alcohol available.

Dined in tonight 13/05/22. Absolutely amazing food. Not sure about the negative feedback, maybe new owners? Great service and food came out quick. The prawn toast was so yummy. Interior could do with a freshen up.

We had dinner here recently April 2022, absolutely brilliant. The Short Soup was delicious as was the Pork Chow Mein. Huge serving, I got to take some home. Staff was very friendly, very eager to help. Certainly recommend a meal here. Nice clean food, not gluggy or oily. Will be back 👍

Placed an order tonight of - 2 large fried rice, bland hardly any veggies got 3 prawns bland, Entree pack which includes fried Dim Sim, average and oily! Spring Roll, pretty much all batter and oily. Prawn Toast all it was, was an oily half slice of bread sprinkled with sesame seeds, disgusting. Deep fried duck which was okay. Prawn Crackers stale AND to top it off my daughters Honey Chicken hadn't been included BUT charged so had to drive down to get it. All this for $64.00 !!!! I will pay this if it's great food this was definitely far from it. Will never recommend them and certainly never return. .

It will be very sad to see China World close, best authentic food we have tried since coming to the Bay. Thank you for your beautiful takeaway meals.

Great food, value for money and fantastic service. Like most businesses they have been impacted by covid. I encourage you to support this wonderful business

The menu had many great options but decided to order my favourites - Rainbow Steak and Honey Chicken as well as some special fried rice. Soggy, thick battery on the rainforest steak was inedible. No capsicum, carrot or any vegetables that would give the rainbow colours to the dish. Should never have been served. Very poor dish. Honey Chicken was quite nice. Enjoyed it, and the batter was crispy although quite thick. Fried rice was bland but did contain half a dozen medium sized prawns. Quite edible. Overall, not worth the money paid. Not going to try anything else there. Mediocre, drive past....

OMG the best by far i just bought the $15 take away dish from the buffet and had a bit of everything I highly recommend China World its the best in the Bay by far..... Thanks :-)

Not cheap over priced Rude customer service by young Asian girl There a sign inside it said no food waste $10 fine on spot if can”t eat all your food I should ring fair trade department Very hot inside there have air conditioning never on I order satay beef not even spicy weak � Never going back

you can order a la carte or go for the smorgasbords. my dad was a little disappointed that the sweet corn soup wasn't included in the buffet anymore. if you're vegetarian I recommend the satay tofu hot pot. it was a good sized serving and really yum. we mentioned that it was my dad's birthday so it was wonderful they gave him deep fried ice cream on the house but was a little surprised to be charged an additional $2 for chilli.

Horrible never again over priced not clean rude customer Service the food is not fresh it taste like it's been re deep fried again. Very salty and was not hot was worm if you eat hear good chance you will get sick avoid this place ! You would be better buying a pizza up the road for $5.00

Food was presented well, had nice customer service and were quick to say 'Hello' and greet me.

I have been a regular customer here for over a year. Ordered the same thing every time, extra large fried rice with no carrot and no prawns extra peas and ham. On 2 occasions I have made a formal complaint. I knew the owners. I knew the owners and all the girls who served me. I had a replacement meal done tonight after mine was stuffed up two nights previously. I sent my partner down to collect and the owner came and told her for me not to order from them again as they find it too hard to do my order. I have been ordering the same this for over a year 2-3 times a week. You can stick your customer service and your food. Working in hospitality, I WOULD NEVER EVER treat a customer the way you did. I will take my business and my friends and family's business else where!
