Review Growlers - Torquay

Delicious food, great service and a wonderful setting. Restaurant was quite busy (a good sign), but there were plenty of seating both inside and out. Dogs are welcome (outside) too which was great. Would highly recommend this place for evening food when in Torquay.

We tried porterhouse steak and lamb pita, both came out delicious and memorable. Will definitely visit again on our next trip to Torquay. Free street parking available in front of the restaurant.

Breakfast 21/01/21 Big Breakfast & Salmon Eggs Food was really good & hit the spot, the venue itself was stunning with a beautiful outdoor eating area that still had plenty of shade. The staff were incredible, the young waiter that served us was so friendly & helpful I really appreciated his work. Nothing negative to note about this one good little gem. Food - 10/10 Staff - 10/10 Environment - 10/10 Overall Combined - 10/10

This beachfront bungalow is a well-established venue and a must-visit when in Torquay. They have developed a laid back atmosphere that appeals to all generations, locals and tourists alike. Their beer garden is the perfect place to sit under an umbrella with a beer listening to the waves across the road. The balcony houses tall tables and bar stools and inside are larger booths and tables for groups or functions. The building itself is over 13years old and has an exceptional bar, stocked to the brim. The staff are super friendly and happy to recommend items from the menu. Prices are medium to high depending on what you order, but the generous portion sizes warrant this - you will not leave Growlers hungry! They serve breakfast from 8.30 am - 12.30 pm, lunch from 11 am - 3 pm, bar snacks/entrees from 3 - 4 pm. Dinner is from 5 pm over two sessions, as per covid rules. The current selection of mini cakes/desserts are not made on-site but supplied by a local baker. Dinner Recommendations Entree- cheese and garlic flatbread - cheesy garlic goodness - yum! Cocktail - Dark And Stormy - $13 - Captain Morgan rum, lime and ginger beer. Main - Scallop and smoked chorizo linguini - mixed through a tomato and garlic puree, topped with shaved parmesan cheese and diced herbs, and finished off with a drizzle of pesto and lemon. There were plenty of small scallops in this large serve of pasta, making for a hearty meal. Give them a try - booking ahead is suggested.

Great food and lovely people. Well priced menu and generous servings. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Nice wooden bar table and outdoor tables. Located in a prime location with a great ocean view in a sunny day. 50 meters away from the beach. The service is good but a bit slow specially on weekends.

We had a good dining experience at Growlers. The staff are friendly and the view of the waterfront is spectacular. I got the chorizo and scallop linguine. It tasted delicious though it was on the pricey side, given the scallops weren't fresh (from frozen I presume). My partner got the steak, which was superb. The garden salad was odd (containing fruit and beetroot chips) but it wasn't boring. Overall we had a good time. Their selection of drinks is good too.

Growlers always has a great vibe, great food and good service. We had some customers with additional needs come in behind us and the young girl assisted them very well whilst making sure we still got our preferred seating!

well went to have breakfast this morning and my sister and I ordered scrambled eggs on toast and had a side order of mushrooms and smashed avacado. Apparently mushrooms is only one mushroom for $3.60 and I dont know where the chef learnt to cook toast but it wasnt even brown. Also feel heaters could be used on cold mornings as it was freezing in there all up for $44.00it was quite bad, only reason I didnt rate as I hated it was that the coffee was quite good. Would definetly not go back so many nicer establishments down the road
