Review Torquay Thai - Torquay

Visited a month ago, and had a really nice curry, fried rice and fish cakes. Service was kind but a bit slow. I think it was because they didn't have enough staffs or had many delivery/pickup order.

Meal was ordered online, once placed was advised it was going to take 70min. 2 hrs past, so we went to the restaurant & advised that it was with the driver. 2hrs and 30min still no meal. We went to the restaurant again it’s on the way.. the food then arrived 3hrs later. But they had left out half the order. There was no apology or ownership of the error. When insisting on a refund advised that it would go back on my account within 3 hours… 24hrs the money is not on my account. Also no one answers the phone as they are too busy doing nothing. Please save your money, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT you will not get your food. And there is no customer service.

Best tasting Thai food in Torquay but sadly the service is possibly the *worst* I’ve experienced in years!! We’ve continued to order from here as we love the food… but every single time, they have left out a dish… not put the order through after we waited 40 minutes for it and then had to wait another 30 minutes… every time - the service has been such a horrible experience, and never any responsibility taken for it.

Taste not bad if treated as western stir fried, but not really authentic Thai. Fried chicken wings came out raw inside, got sent back to kitchen and second batch was a bit better. Third attempt was well cooked though. Thai salad was full or parsley and onions, with 2 prawns, 3 pieces of squid and 1 scallop. Not Thai! Ordered rice and it sat in the kitchen until we ran out and patient and reminded the staff. She brought out instantly... Kids waited 20-30 mins for their beloved food to arrive. Hungry enough so we didn't have energy to take photos.

Authentic Thai. Place was relatively clean and well presented. We ordered a variety of meals and they came out in a timely fashion. One thing I would have to pick on is their attention to detail, as we asked for a very mild curry but got a very hot curry instead. And asked for coconut rice but was given normal jasmine rice, which they did rectify. Service was ok and the food was great in taste. Not badly priced either.

Can't review the food as we had no service for 15 mins, not even a bottle of water. On the other hand we appreciate the poor service because the Greek restaurant next door had amazing food and awesome service.

We had satay chicken, vegetables with cashews and tofu, and pork Penang curry. The satay chicken wasn't what I'd call authentic satay. It was more like simply skewered grilled chicken lathered with peanut sauce which was a bit of a disappointment as there was no satay marinade on the meat although they were generous in their portion size for satay so if you are feeling ravenous, this is a good dish to order. Vegetables was nice. Penang curry was very tasty which I rather enjoyed. But would have been better with a little less salt and sugar. Decor was fresh, clean and pleasant with elephant head statues on the walls. Felt very spacious. Good place for groups or by yourself. Seemed popular for couples. Staff were friendly.

Angkana goes above and beyond with the cooking and customer service i wouldn't recommend any other thai restaurant cos TORQUAY THAI is the place to be it has that atmosphere no other restaurant has food is always on point and very generous in portion size they food couldn't be cooked any better i travel almost 2 hrs just to go and enjoy a curry or special fried rice with pineapple every time i walk into TORQUAY Thai the staff and owners bend over backwards even leaving the staff and owners a large tip they dont accept it they put it straight in the tips jarwell done torquay thai if i could give you 20 stars rating i would love this place 😀... & BTW i wasnt paid to post my review the Owners & staff are amazing not only they are amazing and the food is like i mentioned earlier foid us always on point...

Delicious food. I enjoyed the food we ordered like pad thai, sweet n sour barramundi fish, beef with salad and other dish we had. Compliments to the chef and the staff who are very nice. Highly recommended.

Frequent visitor to this restaurant and it never disappoints. Food always sensational, service rarely bad and price reasonable. To top it all off we can walk there and back from the caravan park so we can enjoy a drink too!

The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Special mentions to the beautiful waitresses and honourable mentions to the dancing birthday chef!!

One of the best Thai meals I have had and the Best Coconut rice we have had.

Poor customer service. We ordered and were told a 35 minute wait only for it to be a 70 minute wait; then we were missing our roti bread. When I rang and explained why I was angry I was asked to wait while someone else was served. The best they could do was refund the cost of the roti bread.

This restaurant does not deserve a star in my eyes.. I had the worst experience ever in this Thai restaurant last week... I had ordered the Yellow Curry dish for my main meal. when my yellow curry was bought out to the table it seriously had a strong smell to it like the coconut milk was off.. I had a little taste of this dish and seriously it tasted OFF, I asked my partner to try some and he said the same thing to me that this dish has an OFF taste about it.. I didn't want to cause a scene because that is not my style I called the waitress over to our table and I said to her quietly that this curry tastes a little off and I cannot eat it.. Instead of being accommodating or apologetic the Blonde old lady waitress rolls her eyes at me and turns to my partner and goes to him how's your food sir, REALLY!!!!!! I was totally disappointed with her appalling attitude and her mannerisms towards me - what ever happened to customer service these days.. So I said to her again I don't want this curry because it tastes OFFF she grabs my food takes my curry out the back and she comes back to our table with this massive attitude and she goes to me "There is nothing wrong with your food its fine because I just tasted it..... WTF I was truly gob smacked who does that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!! WONT BE RETURNING BACK THERE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
