Review Pholklore - Torquay

Firstly, our waitress was awesome. Not something I often comment on but she really looked after us. Food was great too, from tasty seafood pho, spicy fried cauliflower and a bun with Hanoi spring rolls to a diverse and well executed drinks menu. Enjoying the view out over the ocean as the sun set didn't hurt either! Nice touch having an RFID so you can tap to order from your phone.

Generous servings for the Pho with the larger size being so much that I couldn’t finish. If you aren’t ravenous the regular servings should be enough. Really nice views looking out to the beach.

We ordered the Tom Yum and Laksa with chicken soup and daymmn it was delicious. The broth was boiled to perfection and noodles weren’t over cooked! If you’re in the area definitely hit up this place up! Staff were also friendly and cheerful.

An amazing meal. Visited for lunch and the only issue was deciding what to order, ended up with 5 dishes and everything was top drawer from the fresh zesty ingredients to the picturesque sea views. Laksa, wantons and spring rolls were the show stealers. Staff were all amazing too. Very positive experience. Thank you.

Creative fusion pho. Delicious broth, hearty portions, fresh flavors and seaside views. Not your typical Viet restaurant. Must-go dining location if visiting Torquay. Dinner time is busy but service remains quick and friendly. Will definitely return the next time passing through Torquay.

Absolutely incredible!!! It's always packed for a reason. Food was just SO good! We had the laksa and the bun bowl. Both were really really good. So much flavour! Staff is so friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Absolutely nothing to fault- it was such a great experience! Highly recommend it!

Never thought Asian fusion would be so gah dayum good. I got the katsu chicken laksa and it was so good. The serving sizes here could feed more than 1 for sure, as a pretty big guy, I couldn’t even finish half of the regular size. The atmosphere here is also really nice and it almost feels like you’re on a tropical vacation.

We had a nice lunch here today as a small family, the place was very busy when we arrived but the wait time was non existent and sat down indoors straight away. We found the staff to be very friendly and nice, unlike what other reviews have said. This time of year is absolutely flooded with tourists, and in our opinion they are doing their best. The food came out relatively quickly, our spring rolls were good and the popcorn cauliflower was tasty. The chargrilled chicken bun bowl was ok, my partner found the chicken had no chargrill flavour or texture at all, more like boiled. I had the pho katsu which was nice. It is definitely pricey for what it is, and at peak season on Torquay esplanade places start to get a bit less authentic or loose track of quality.

Yum! The Pho Chay was goodness in a bowl. The Bun Bowl with soft shell crab looked amazing too. Next time I'm going to ask for that with tofu planks as a vegie version. Place was pumping. A great addition to our local food scene! *happy dance

Pho is so worth a try. So fresh and so good! Highly recommend

Absolutely ridiculous, your cocktail sizes are legitimately served in a tiny shot size glass full of ice and you still charge $10-$12!!! Not a cocktail. Won’t be coming back to be ripped off again...

Pho’k yes... I don’t need to drive to Footscray anymore for pho. Pho bo and pho chay spot on. Great job guys!

Food was way overpriced and lacking in flavour with a very limited menu! Pho definitely not up to expectations !!! Will not be back.

We ordered the rare beef pho. The stock was lacking flavour and even with the addition of condiments it was still very bland. The pork ribs were nice but weren't heated through properly and needed more glaze. We have the privaledge of living right near box hill where pho rules and its cheap and cheerful. Good try but price + lack of flavour means we wont be back.
