Review Thai@dunes - Torquay

The loveliest Thai food I have had! We had the mixed entree and each part was fabulous! A green curry with chicken and papaya salad with steamed rice, outstanding! Staff warm and friendly. Loved the entire experience. šŸ¤©šŸ˜

ABYSMAL!!! I attempted to order a vegan curry which they confirmed they understood over the phone. Once we had picked up our order, it was clearly marked as vegan. However, once we got home and opened it, it had chicken all through it. We then had to go back and pick up a replacement curry that had been marked vegan again. We got home and again, found chicken through the curry. Worst experience of takeaway weā€™ve ever had. It was definitely made worse by the fact the cook herself and the other staff were not apologetic at all. Especially considering this issue is one that can cause someone to be very sick. I do not understand how they make this mistake twice. Absolutely disgusted. Will never be ordering from here again.

Ordered take deluvery , two entrees and pad thai noodles. Vegie spring rolls were nice, entree calamari was ok, too salty for our taste. Pad thai with seafood was inedible, far too sweet , the seafood was nice and the only part that we ate.

EDIT: The restaurants response below is a blatant lie. Their staff member even told me that they hadn't updated their prices on the menu or front of shop since their price increase. They may have done so now, I don't know, but they certainly hadn't at the time and I doubt they have since. Absolutely disgusted with this restaurant! I ordered about $50 worth of food according to their menu and the board out front of the place only for them to try to charge me nearly $90!! They've gone and upped the price that much but don't tell you until you're paying! BEWARE!! No wonder they only had one small table of customers during Torquays busy season!!

OMG the worst, actually laughable Ordered the rice paper rolls - no noodles / rice paper outing completely burst and fell apart / the chicken was Woolies or Coles full chicken just pulled apart and stuffed inside and they use mixed supermarket lettuce. Not sure they know what rice paper rolls are meant to be but these were terrible and not authentic at all Had the green curry as mains, was just liquid - maybe 2 tables spoons of veg / chicken, the rest was watery like liquid. Roti bread is so greasy and overly cooked that itā€™s basically air. If youā€™re looking for authentic or even just a decent Thai meal, donā€™t bother eating here! Coles / Woolies microwave meals are better (and that says a lot about the quality)

Absolutely delicious meal!! Stir fry veges & tofu - yummy sauce & a huge plate full. Hubby had pad tai with v tender chicken slices. Really good. Service excellent too & reasonable prices. Weā€™ll be back.

The food was okay, nothing noteworthy. However, it was overpriced and the quantity of the food I received did not justify the price. I'm not sure if the same would be the case if you dine in. There are better takeaway places in Torquay!

Ok, so we ordered take away tonight, we ordered 5 entrees and 2 mains and a rice as the kids didnā€™t want a main. Paid for the food and got in the car. I opened the calamari entree, $9 for 6 tiny pieces that are straight from the supermarket box in the frozen section, the kids ordered deep fried prawn in pastry, which also came direct from the supermarket frozen section, was very dry and we didnā€™t eat it either. $11 for 4 of them, about the size of your little finger, extremely disappointed to say the least. I also ordered a Thai spicy duck which was the biggest disappointment, $22 for the smallest meal Iā€™ve ever seen with 6 tiny pieces of duck and a half full container. On the upside the rice was very nice but lacking meat. I wonā€™t be returning

Ordered the red duck curry, coconut rice and satay roti. Have to say.. delicious!!! The flavours/spices were perfect but only criticism is that I found a good sized sharp bone in the duck. Waited 30mins which is very normal for a busy restaurant/take-away place in Torquay. I think some of the reviews are a bit harsh considering this place has been open such a very short amount of time and clearly they are short-staffed and need to find their feet. Give them a chance!!! The food is fantastic!!! Will def be back again. ļæ½

First visit had a lovely meal. The food was very tasty and the staff friendly. The only reason I didn"t give it top marks was the place lacked that bit of authentic Thai feel. Going again on Christmas Eve!

Ordered takeaway the other night and was extremely disappointed! I understand they have only been open a week or 2 but that's no excuse. We ordered 1 lot of vegetarian spring roll and 1 lot of chicken but got both vegetarian. The Beef Pad Grapow was absolutely terrible- The Beef was way too overcooked and the sauce extremely watery. We had to throw it out as it was that bad. Even the Roti bread was dry and the peanut sauce too thick to dip the roti into. The Thai green chicken curry was the only half decent thing we ordered but it had a strong taste of curry powder. I definately wouldn't be eating here anytime again soon unless the food gets better quick smart.

Ordered takeaway online via menulog, SMS message said pickup in 90 minutes. Rang 5 times before phone was answered over 45 minute period to be told food was ready. Arrived to pick up food which was sitting on bench and now only luke warm. Very dissappointing service, restaurant was not full and staff could have surely answered phone

Just opened will not last. Terrible service. Waited ages for first entree asked about second entree but was provided with a main. Not even what we ordered. When we said that was not what we ordered was told they could not provide the one we ordered so gave us that. Then brought out second entree. Fourth Thai restaurant in Torquay and would not even rate it fourth. Was looking forward to having a restaurant within walking distance but not to be. Donā€™t bother.

Really fresh, delicious meals. 'Fresh Spring Rolls' Roast chicken rice paper rolls were seriously yummy! Ordered over the phone so we were well aware of the time frame before pick up...30 minutes... perfectly fine for new busy business. We'll definitely be back šŸ˜Š
