Review Italo's Wood Fired Pizza - Torquay

Nice little restaurant with a beautiful wall painting by a local artist to set the mood. Pizza was perfect, I chose the Capricciosa and was made with quality toppings on a thin base. I usually prefer with anchovies but didn’t see an option however I wasn’t let down by the flavours. Highly recommend trying their pizzas 🍕😋 Only disappointment was the Eggplant Parma size/price

Went to get a quick pizza on New Years Eve, wasn’t very busy so thought it would be an easy choice. First of all we got told it was a 15 wait, ended up waiting almost an hour. Then our pizzas sat out for around 10 minutes before we actually got given them due to a mix up on our garlic bread, only to be handed 2 small dry pieces of “garlic bread” for $5. Pizza is the equivalent to dominos just 10x the price and wait. Wouldn’t recommend

Okay. So im afraid this will be a bit harsh. Wood fired pizza, tick. But thats where the good ends. Firstly, there was parsley on the margarita. Parsley. Not basil. Im sure some people like it, but i honestly can’t see why. Next the cheese. They say it’s mozzarella, but honestly it tastes and has a similar texture to cheap cheddar cheese. Next is the price. $20… for what you get, its just not worth-it. Im sorry, but just being honest. Now for the good. The staff are really lovely! There’s a heap of seating and its a great location. Its not cosy by any stretch but its not terrible. Definitely best for takeaway. They’re quick with getting through the orders. As always, these reviews are non exhaustive. And subject to change. Im hoping it gets better here. Fingers crossed. I will be back. I just won’t recommend it just yet.

Expensive. Average meal. 20$ for a few deep fried calamari rings. They have a beautiful wood oven but I don't how how they manage to get average pizzas out of it...

Nice place for a pizza. Not extravagant nor really surprising and menu is somewhat fine but pizzas were well made and the perfect size to leave with a full belly satisfied. Could use some more work in the presentation of the dishes but friendly staff compensate.

Being from New York pizza is a big deal to many of us. This pizza was incredibly good. Perfectly cooked crust crispy on the bottom and soft on the top. Excellent balance between dough thickness, sauce amount and topping. Ingredients tasted fresh. Hands down the best pizza i have had in my 16 years in Australia. I belive the owner was the one who made the pizzas for us and this man is more than a good pizza maker. A very nice guy and master of the art of making a delicious pizza if you are near Torquay don't miss out on trying this pizza!

My wife and I dined here last Sunday evening, 5th March, and we both enjoyed our meals. I had the Alla Pana Fettuccine dish and it was good. It didn't bother me that the button mushrooms weren't cut up or that the bacon pieces were large. My wife's pizza was great. Nice thin base. Our waiter, with a French accent was excellent. Not so good was the other male kwaiter, who was basically rude and lacks customer service skills. His first words to us, upon entering the restaurant, were not positive (I'm setting up a table for 14) and then interrupted our waiter whilst he was taking our order and then at bill paying time handed me the receipt without so much of a "thank you, hope you enjoyed your meal") whilst diverting his attention to someone entering the restaurant which he obviously knew. It cost us $77 for a beer, bottle of wine and two main dishes. For the food I'd recommend it. Avoid the big shot waiter and you will have an enjoyable experience.

Service was OK but food um pasta with mushroom and bacon was like I've never had served up before button mushrooms not cut up bacon was in approx 1 1/2 inch squares and cheese sauce just tasted of garlic it was like a child had cooked the salt pepper calamari was over cooked disappointing- maybe it's a pizza place and they should not try anything else

Just had the best prosciutto wood fire pizza would recommend it for sure for anyone that loves a awesome wood fire pizza!! Cheers to all for being great hosts and hostesses cant wait for the next one �

Not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews. The pizzas are lovely, and the waitress that served us was very accommodating and friendly. We ate there for lunch on a Saturday, and it was very quiet, meals came out very quickly. My daughter wanted to see the wood fired pizza oven, and the chef (who I assume was the owner), was more than happy to let her in the kitchen and show her. He also pulled some roast potatoes out of the oven and gave them to her. Will be back. 4.5

We kind of gambled to visit this place since it didn't have Zomato rating.<br/>However it made us really satisfied, particularly myself, although Mrs.Wolf wasn't 100% in a same page as me. she believes 3.5 is the right rating, but I loved it.<br/>By the way, they didn't have any photos, I have uploaded the first 3 shot.😊
