A hidden gem. The best in the west. We’ve been dinning here for a long time and for good reason. If you’re after delicious tasting and authentic Thai food made fresh to your order you will not find anything comparable to Isaan Village restaurant. As a seasoned foodie and SE Asia traveller I can vouch for this restaurant. Humble and kind hospitality by Welta gives this restaurant the perfect touch of authenticity.

Be prepared to wait. It’s generally just Welta cooking and the sporadic influx of customers means that staffing is difficult to predict for the owner.

Try the fish cakes or Isaan sausage for starters. You won’t go wrong with anything to be honest.

Great prices. Great food. Amazing Welta.

Great authentic Thai. Bok choy came from the back garden , was impressed . Had 2 spicy dishes, very nice . Will come back again . Tasted just like Isaan Thailand style .

Fabulous food. This restaurant is worth eating at. Slow delivery of meals because only one woman is working - both cooking and serving. There are two men bludging off her. Appalling -Not the food which is wonderful. The appalling part is the way she is treated.

A down to earth place and it comes as it is, and I like it.  Wife and I out after a work week on a Friday evening.  Masaman Curry for me and Chicken Larb Salad for the wife.  The menu has photos of ordinary life in a bit of Thailand which makes for interest.  Masaman Curry was a good size and tasty.  Larb was similarly tasty, though at the top of our heat range.  Complementary water was quite sufficient and a relaxed atmosphere.  Slight wait but quite okay.

We headed here for dinner recently at last minute and were overall happy. Food was tasty and very traditional with authentic flavours. Although it did take a while for the food to come out it was full of flavour. The papaya salad was delicious but very hot. Friendly staff and a casual atmosphere. Would go back again for sure.

Went to Isaan Village Thai Restaurant on the spur of a moment...did not disappoint! Lovely, cosy atmosphere. Food was sensational and the service was of the highest quality.!! Even had the chef who is the owner come to us and talk...which was awesome. Will most certainly be back again and highly would recommend. Just yum!! Have been back many times since my first visit and will continue to go there. This place is just awesome!

Best Thai food I have had in Adelaide. So authentic. The atmosphere the decor but most importantly the smells and flavours coming out of the kitchen. So delicious we will be back very soon. Eat there as soon and as often as you can

As a chef, food praise does not come easily and most times, when it does, it is tempered with some criticism. Not so tonight, from the mismatched Formica furniture to the random order of food arriving to the soaring heights of flavours and tastes, this was the best Thai and most authentic experience I've had outside of Thailand. The mood was set with the outstanding Sai Krok, an Isaan delicacy I've been hitherto unable to obtain in Adelaide short of making it myself. Every dish that followed became a new favourite, until we recalled the dishes that preceded it. The only problem with returning is trying new dishes as I'm desperate to have the dishes I ate, again.

Great food - we had the Pork Larb and the Red Chicken Curry - both very aromatic and just the right amount of spice. Wine list is limited but fine given not a natural accompaniment for Thai/Laos food. A bit of a wait for the food, but not excessive...in fact just right to appreciate the fine art of conversation. Definitely one to make a regular.

Consistently high quality authentic food. Menu is simple with an decent range of dishes - including specialty items unique to this restaurant, ie, prepared inhouse - and impressive variety of options available for each item including vegetarian (and vegan). All dishes are prepared to order in a clean open kitchen with fresh ingredients. Quite apparent that they do not compromise on quality to reduce wait times so expect very good food and not fast food.

Issan Village has constantly provided excellent authentic Thai food. I could not reccommend this restaurant enough. It really does deserve far more recognition for the delicious food they continue to provide. I highly recommend all of the curries, and the satay chicken would have to be the best iv had. Keep up the good work 👍

Have been here on few occasions now.. There is only one lady cooking the food on weekdays as well as serving. Takes a bit of time for food to come out but the flavours are very good and very authentic so definitely worth the wait . The Tom kha soup is delicious and authentic. The chicken larb with salad is also delicious as well as the panang curry. . Will definitely keep coming back :)

I love the food here. It's different and very delicious. My only issue apart from the sad decor is the time it takes to get the food....at least when ordering takeaway. The last few times I have got take away here I've had to wait a long time. On friday night I ordered for 2 and with only 2 tables of customers had to wait over 40 minutes. On sunday I rang and ordered takeaway just for me and they said it would be 20 - 30 mintues. I gave them extra time and got there after 40 minutes. There were no other customers and they asked me to give them another 5 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes. Disappointing as the food is great and the staff are lovely. Both times the cook was on her own. Maybe it is faster when other staff are there.
