Pretty good experience for dinner here, we arrived at 6pm on a weekend without a booking and got a table okay. Food and drinks came out quick. The Creaming Soda Spider was soooo good! The steak and toppings were good, and the mac &cheese! The burger was okay, only complaint was that the bun and meat were a bit dry. Service was quick and staff were friendly.

Pros: Steak was on point and was practically melting my mouth. The salt and pepper calamari entree was very good. Cons: Being forced into a booth which painfully squished me (I am a bigger lad) as we were told they don’t serve mains at the tabled area. My wife’s chicken was very dry and my so called mushroom gravy was disgusting. The issues were quite bizarre, given it was the start of service on a quiet Sunday. After 20 years of dining at Hogs Breath, this meal was certainly not very pleasant compared to the average experience.

Ordered the salmon, it was very tasty. Chips had a nice crunch to them and the meal was well seasoned in general. Salad was refreshing to eat and the salmon had a nice touch to it with the sauce. Staff were awesome and super helpful. Excellent table service and the wait time was minimal. Went on a Thursday night which wasn’t that busy but still busy enough being school holidays now. Will definitely be coming back but also sad it’s the only hogs breath left in Townsville now. Keep up the awesome work. Thank you.

Thought we would treat our selves seeming as we haven't been able to dine out since the new smreateictions , but now that their is none we can finally dine out, I've always loved hogs breath everything was delightful and we took the left overs home for our puppy, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating

Thursday night, not busy by any standard. I had to go to the bar after being seated as we were not offered a drink. Table was not cleared after each course, nor were the empty drinks. Had to go to the bar a second time after attempting to attract the attention of staff failed. Staff were more interested in chatting to each other, rather than serving. Bar service was prompt and engaging, the quality of the meal was what we know to be Hogs Breath standard. Overall a very disappointing experience to what we have had for more than 20 years of dining at this restaurant, knowing we have had such good service in the past. The art of ‘good service’ was not anywhere near our table tonight.

An absolute disappointment! Me and a group of friends rocked up for our dinner tonight only to spend 45 dollars on steaks that weren’t cooked right, my friend had a pretty scary experience with one of the steaks as well. The chicken was bland and a little pink, not sure what’s going on but the prices are steep and the food is terrible. Tonight was my last visit :(

Awful just awful. Chicken was just warm, overcooked & dry. Hubby’s steak & fries were just warm as well. Haven’t been since covid & will NEVER go again. Staff were inexperienced. Do yourself a favour & avoid this place.

Family and I had dinner Friday 11th March 2022 table 10. The service was horrible. Not sure if there are issues amongst the team but it felt like we were an awkward inconvenience to two of your waitresses. The first waitress who awkwardly greeted us requesting our check in/vaccination proof seemed surprisingly shocked when we presented our proof to her. It’s as though she wasn’t expecting us to provide this to her. She gave us an uncomfortable look then said “ok, umm I’ll find you a table” After this awkward experience we were seated then served by a second waitress who appeared to be frustrated. She began to take our order and after being told one of our entrees was actually a main meal for my wife the waitress seemed upset by this. When asked if this was a problem she responded saying there was no problem just an inconvenience because she now has to re-allocate our meals to each patron. Seemed like a stupid exercise because when our meals were delivered the server had no idea which meal was going to which patron. Complete waste of time!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!We spent $150+ that night and all I can say is we get better service at a Maccas drive thru. We won’t be back

I do not know why there are negative comments on this cafe. I have always found the food very good, and the staff charming. The food is so good that they had even run out of “aged steaks” when I last had dinner there last Sunday, but the alternative steak and vegetables were just as well done and presented. They are my favourite restaurant whenever I am in town. Full marks from me! 😊😊👌

Whilst the service was great. Hogs breath is not what it used to be. Three out of four of the sauces/gravy with our meals were absolutely disgusting. Not sure why you now only now offer chips 'or' salad when most restaurant successfully offer both for less $$. Disappointed. Hogs breath used to be a Fav!

Absolutely beautiful meal. I had the Reef n Beef and the steak just melted in my mouth. Great service. The staff sang Happy Birthday to my daughter too, which I thought was great. A big shout out to our table waitress Kate who was very friendly and helpful 👍😊

Went to the toilet came back to my table my food and drink where gone, only had a1/4 of my drink and food, asked where it was sorry was the response, not very good, $34.00 down the drain,

just visited. never again. lunch meals are horrible. do you boil the steak for your lunch burgers? maybe instead of focusing on cheap 9.95 prices. put a bit more thought into quality and taste of food. Also had chicken WINGS entree for 11.95. Not a wing in sight.. 4 tiny little drumetts. weighing 50grams max. i was ashamed to accept the dish from the waitress.

Service was good, they have lovely staff and they are very friendly... but the food wasn't worth the amount. Lamb patty was just warm and the sweet potato wedges where half cooked... not to mention i asked for a schooner not a stubby and when i said something about it i wasn't offered any other option or a refund.... thanks hogs breath, there wont be a next time.

Favourite hogs breath restaurant. Food is exceptional as well as the service. I was privileged enough to talk to one of the owners and she was very pleasant and made me feel very welcome. Would definatly recommend

Went here for my birthday (22/4) and could not be more dissapointed. The only good thing was our server. She was fantastic! Food was terrible and the price left you feeling ripped off for what you recieved. Would not recomend and will not be back in the near future. Extremely disappointed guys.. step up your game or stop over charging people for near inedable food.

Adam Tasker its still the same service at this hogs breath dinner. We waiting near on 30mins to get someone attention (table of 4) to get the kids ice cream. So this place has not changed.

Last night - The trim a licious salad was coleslaw, simple as that....couple of green leaves and half cherry tomatoe....no kidding....and added half avocado cost $4...my cocktail cost $14....definitely should have looked more closely at price of that.....I could not recommend going here....it was disappointing.....all up two meals and cocktail and half avocado cost $84....:(

Nice place, with Generally good service and food . Few problems. They advertised a special that they couldn't provide (ribs special ) and their vegetables are very unappealing. Learn to do broccoli better, guys.

Good Evening, I am writing to express my extreme disgust and disappointment on service within your restaurant tonight. My sister in-law had the private room booked for her hens evening and has been looking forward to it for many months. Herself and 12 others have arrived to find the Private room which they had paid a deposit for had been given away. They are now unable to play any of the games they had organised for their evening and enjoy themselves as they had planned. She had called and confirmed numbers for this evening and still the room had been given away. They have waited over 30 mins for drinks and even longer to order food. Her whole evening has been ruined thank you for the incompetence of the following staff. Lena - Owner Samila- Manager Angie- Drinks Manager Kaitlyn- Drinks Waitress This is beyond a joke, there is nothing but disappointment when myself, family or friends attend either of the restaurants in Townsville. If this email is received prior to them finishing up their evening - god know how long that will be thanks to your staff. They need to receive all of their drinks and food on the house. This is an absolute joke she has been put through this. People need to be informed of the incompetence.
