Review Table 51 - Townsville

Great food. Main meal not large, but don't worry, just order desert! Great quality and delicious. Both main and desert were wonderful. Chef came out after meal to ensure all was well.

My wife and I have eaten here twice now, since returning to Townsville. This restaurant is a hidden gem, the food, service and atmosphere has always been very good and consistent. A great restaurant for date night or to go and enjoy a lovely evening with a group of friends.

Eat here nearly daily either for breakfast or dinner. Breakfast simple but good, various omelettes. Dinner is well prepared by Denis the owner and chef. He prepared a tomato based vegetarian risotto which tasted good and was not to heavy. My colleague ordered a duck which was also well prepared. Fast service and welcoming environment

This was a "MASSIVE BURST MY BUBBLE NIGHT OUT DISASTER" 1. I asked for a bourbon and ice..... The girl that looked 14 picked up the ice with her fingers and put it inthe glass then poured the bourbon... I made her redo it it with tongs. 2. The "chef" ? stand with a stubbie talking to customers.... 1 and 1/2 hours later I ask for mymoney back for my meal that doesnt turn up. 3. I ask for another bourbon and the next girl maybe 12 looks throu all the bottles of beer and say "which one is bourbon? 4 too many other cancel and asked for money back! 5. A THOROUGH WAST OF TIME !!!!!

Greeted and felt welcomed within seconds. Absolutely brilliant customer service from the waiter to the personalized interest of the chef and owner. Food was terrific, Tasty and prepared and served with love. Information from staff regarding dishes amazing. Well done

We went for a nice, casual dinner and were not disappointed. The staff are lovely and attentive (quietly), and the food was excellent. We had the scallopini and chicken alaska, which were sensational. The Brulee was meant to be the finishing touch, but we were offered a complimentary fortified wine: dangerously good. All up, a lovely night.

Underestimated! A hidden restaurant, away from the hussle and bustle, full of peace, tranquility and beauty. Certainly miscalculated the capabilities of this local spot! For 5 years we've resided 10 minutes away from this little establishment with a nonentity of curiosities until tonight. Ill be returning for their succulent pork belly and their eye fillet steak cooked to perfection. Staff were engaging and friendly... Their deserts tasty and well presented. Just lovely.. I love it when you access a menu and it features a limitless proposition catering to all breeds of cravings and taste.

Seems like this place needs a shake up, or an owner with a bit of a vision - the poor chef had to come take our orders and then didn’t have half the ingredients for the dishes. Really awkward :/

Entre serving was not ideal and pasta though cooked ok, was bland and quite tasteless. Had to add salt which made it palatable. That said, having crushed salt on the table is not a good choice to offer. Pasta felt like it was cook in unsalted water.....

Group booking, pre booked meals still waited 2 hours. when did arrive sub standard and some were cold. No diet soft drink, chef and kitchen staff arguing all inside could hear, men's toilet had toilet seat broken and on the floor, tables cleared once only no drink waiter service, went to bar to get a mixed drink told no clean glasses, security camera positioned over EFPOS machine so pin numbers could be recorded. definitely would NOT go back again

Extremely Disappointed. Initial service was good; drinks and damper were delivered promptly however all went down hill from there; main course took almost 2 hours to arrive, during which time staff didn't come near the table. I observed numerous patrons also inquiring when meals would be delivered. It should be noted that it was not a busy night and many tables appeared unoccupied. When food was eventually delivered it was sub-standard; presentation was basic and very few elements presented on the plate. My chicken was dry, mashed potatoes were lumpy and beans were over cooked. Three other plates presented to the dining party were similar. Cost whilst not exorbitant was excessive for what was produced. Based upon this experience I was extremely disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant.

Service very poor. Had a reservation for 7.15 on the night of my graduation. Didn't get our meals till 8.45....food was ok but wasn't worth the wait or the cost. The chef wasn't wearing a hair net with visibly long hair in what one can presume was a very hot kitchen that can be seen from the seating area, this was off putting to think hair and sweat may have been in my food

I had an awful evening and was late for my reservation, I wasn't sure the kitchen would stay open for just one person but the very kind owner did just that. I was greeted warmly and ordered my drink. The first course was prawn and avocado and was beautifully fresh and the prawns were cooked when ordered so they maintained the correct supple texture they are meant to have. Second course was the roo skewers which were perfectly presented with a bushberry reduction and wild rice. This combination brought out the flavours immensely and is the way venison is served in the states. This dish is the best roo dish I've had since moving to Oz 4 years ago. The compliments don't stop there, the staff was wonderful and attentive and highly accommodating and to boot the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined with gorgeous classic music. All in all, this place is tops and I will be back!

Found the food to quite good. Staff asked if everything was ok quite a bit, seemed to genuinely care. Creme brûlée was probably bean I've had in Townsville. Liked it.

Response to K OF TOWNSVILLE. From MANAGEMENT OF TABLE 51
I have always thought social media was wonderful especially for our industry but unfortunately people like yourself can do a lot of harm to innocent professional businesses. I have (trying to upload your receipts) attached a copy of your register receipt plus your EFTPOS payment receipt on the night you dined at Table 51, 6th June, 13. It showed we opened your bill at 7:42 when your table ordered your first drinks on arrival, and your payment prior to leaving was at 21:45, a 2 hour dining experience! So its impossible you waited 2 hours for the first course (entree's) and then another hour for the next course (mains) ! Question - how can you have waited in total 3 hours for meals I ask???
Staff did inform you on arrival that we were fully booked inside and there may be a slight wait on meals as you didn't have a booking and two large tables, 1 table x 12 people and 1 table x 8 people had just ordered prior to you been seated. - It was your choice to dine with us with this knowledge.
Just for you information now - Your entrees took 35 minutes (slightly longer than normal but still within a reasonable time frame), unfortunately I can't remember how long it took you to eat your entrees, then for us to clear them and serve your next course but it was obviously NOT ONE HOUR!!
Conclusion - (my spin on it) ....Maybe your bad review was due to the fact that you felt insulted by my staff as they asked you 'not to smoke within a 4 metre radius of an outdoor dining area" (on the spot fines are applicable).
When paying the bill....you were also asked if you would like to speak to me (the manager) at the register, may I point out....... just 2 hours from your arrival time when you came inside the restaurant to pay your bill, you declined!!
Also, on arrival I was informed of your rudeness instantly from staff and I 'called it' and I allowed you to stay.
I have the right to refuse any custom without explanation (Liquor Licience), and sir your party fitted that criteria.
I do not tolerate inappropriate behaviour from customers towards any of my staff.
I am more than happy to discuss this with you further if you feel this is not your recollection of the evening but please keep in mind that I am extending my rights as the manager and also part business owner of Table 51, that your custom is not welcome and has been banned for life from Table 51.
Regards
Mechaele
MANAGER
TABLE 51

Waited for nearly 2 hours for an entree... Then waited over an hour after this for the main. Waitress was extremely rude from the moment we sat down. Had one good waitress for the evening... Only good thing to say about this restaurant. Food was below average for the price. Over priced and overrated. Will never never return to this restaurant

Lovely place, both food and service was absolutely great - I can not praise it high enough. If you want good honest and tasty made food with professional service, this is where I would go.

Amazing! Recommended to anyone wanting a lovely meal! The chocolate tart is to die for!
Meggie
Absolutely delicious! Decent sized serves too. Personable service with a smile

Very hit and miss. Service was so-so, and the food ranged from amazing to only okay. My partner had the curry which was exceptional, but my pork was dry and the goats cheese and apple rolled inside it was cold and raw. The entrees were better overall.
