Can’t resist a good burger anywhere and that too after a nice drive! Topped with a nice relish the patty was juicy and the bread nice and toasted. A better find was the butter chicken and rice which I had to take away.
This was a delightful place for a family lunch on Sunday. The restaurant has a very attractive modern decor. We did not have a reservation but were immediately shown to a table and provided with menus and water. The menu is representative of good quality cafe/pub food. I chose the special pork parmigiana. It was tender and moist with wonderful toppings which included pieces of pork belly which were also delicious - it was also a generous serve! My son chose another special - ribs - another tasty dish. My wife was a little disappointed with her daily special pizza with tandoori chicken topping - the topping was good but did not cover sufficient of the pizza bread. We also enjoyed slices of their delicious cakes with our coffee. Throughout our meal, the service was very good. Prices were OK and provided reasonable value for money. I’ve given the overall dining experience a rating of 4 but the food was a 3.5.
Wow what a restaurant. Had the best Sunday lunch and had the most enjoyable experience from when my family first arrived , all staff made us feel very welcomed and the food was delicious! One staff member think her name started with E kept my young children very occupied by giving them colouring books and toys and a lovely mega shake to finish them off. Food and experience was a 10/10 for me.
Very friendly. They had run out of what we ordered and the chef himself came to let us know, which we appreciated. We didn’t have to wait long and the food was wonderful. I had the chicken and rice bowl and was glad I got that instead of my original order because it was great. A bit pricey but not unreasonable for quality of the food. Good atmosphere.
Ordered the garlic cheese cob with bacon. Amazing! Suitable to share amongst 4 people.
I ordered the gnocchi lamb and it was one of the best gnocchis i have ever had...sauce was delicious and the lamb just melted in your mouth.
My partner ordered the chicken mushroom cheese parcel with chips and salad and that too was both filling and tasty!
Will Definitely return
Service was wonderful though the savoury crepe I ordered was much too creamy and not well balanced in flavours. Other friends ordered burgers which looked and tasted divine. Large open spaced restaurant.
What a great place! It could be a great party venue. The team coped with us arriving on them; a group of 20+. Good food and super fast delivery. Service was welcoming and chatty. Soy coffee was de-lish; would have liked it a tad stronger however.
Great food prepared with fresh ingredients. Courteous and attentive staff. Can be a little noisy in the main dining area, but otherwise an excellent experience.
So my wife took her team here tonight for dinner as they have a client in Trarallagon and are spending a lot of time out there. This is the second restaurant (really it's the 3rd, but we're not counting KFC 😱) that she has been to in this community and reported that it was very good. Not that we would take a 2 hour road trip from Southbank just to eat considering how many options are so much closer, but if you're out this way, Momo is a real nice food option. Wife had the chicken risotto and said it was great. Other people had the steak that was reported to be cooked exactly how it was ordered, duck which was very tender, pork belly with great crackling, and some appetisers that pleased the taste buds as well.
Really enjoyed this funky cafe, friendly prompt service and delicious megashakes. I had an amazing mars bar one, my friend had a coffee which they enjoyed and we shared a bowl of wedges with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream. Will be going again soon
I stopped in here for lunch and had the quinoa salad with the chicken as well as a late. The salad was excellent, healthy roquette, delicious pumpkin and goat cheese. The coffee lacked the detail of a quality pour however it was not burnt and a about as good as what I've had in Gippsland.
Beautiful setting, very modern decor. Love the light bulbs- wish I could steal some for home!!! Had the pork sliders- divine!!! Definitely needed napkins because it was so juicy and fresh. Hubby spoilt himself with a freakshake- woah is all i could say. Amazing! Friendly staff, quick service for a cafe. Was offered drinks not long after we ran dry. Highly recommend! Been there several times, never left hungry or disappointed!
I brought some out of town friends to share a place I have enjoyed before, but have heard mixed reviews about. We had a fantastic meal, which the waiter directed us to his recommendations. The meal was not to fault. I had the pork belly, friends had the salmon and the duck dishes.
The only negative of our experience was the constant approaches, which boarders on harassment, of the staff asking if we wanted drinks. We were quite happy with a wine each for the dinner, one friend was driving and the other was pregnant. But we were asked for drinks at least, not short of 10 times during our visit, all by different waiters. It interrupted our conversation and we gave no cues that we wanted drinks. Not sure if the waiters are pushed to offer drinks, as I noticed it wasn't only our table. And asked if we wanted drinks before we actually sat down and opened the menu.
Apart from this I will be back and happy to tell people of the delicious meal we had. Impressed.
Interior: trendy.
Exterior: trendy.
Decor: trendy.
Orders on iPads: trendy.
Menu: humble, but trendy.
Staff: mostly friendly and always attentive.
Kitchen: generally fast.
Have had breakfast, lunch, and tea at MoMo.
Breakfast: Breakfast menu is on the smaller side. It could do with a few more options, regular updates or more specials. But for a simple serve of bacon and eggs on toast it's everything you'd expect from a trendy, modern restaurant in the ever-growing Traralgon.
Lunch: I most enjoyed the lunch menu. To tackle a burger, to go all out with a salad, to wrestle a steak sandwich or smash a pasta, the variety is wide and the choices are hard. The food though, that's enjoyable.
Tea: Tea menu suffers a similar fate to the Breakfast menu, a few extra items wouldn't go astray but the parma and couple of chips are enjoyable, as are the garlic prawns.
Have only ever had to wait too long once, the staff are generally always friendly and attentive with the exception of the one waitress who looks down her nose at everyone, but we can't ar them all with the same brush.
All in all, good food, good service, and an enjoyable morning/afternoon/evening.
First time here, actually first time for dinner in Traralgon, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at Momo. The oysters were oh so fresh and delicious. For mains I had the crispy duck and it was fantastic, the meat just fell off the bone and was very tasty indeed.A couple of negatives though and not huge negatives but areas they need to improve would be their wait staff being a little more attentive and attention to detail. The other issue was the coffee was quite bitter and not sure if it was the beans or the barrister.
First time at Momo. It's a Sunday morning and called in for coffee and a cake. Plenty of people enjoying breakfast / lunch. Staff friendly, service was good. Dog friendly. Ticks all the boxes for me if you are looking for somewhere break up the travel.
Vegan Friendly and Amazing. I just want to thank MOMO and their team for being so accommodating! As a vegan its hard to find a venue that cares and they offered me 6 different options with plenty of variety, crumbed eggplant salad, egg free pasta, risotto, their breakfast salad and I cannot remember the rest, I had the crumbed eggplant salad (they used soy milk for the crumb to stick). They were so friendly and the service was consistent throughout the night. We were in a booking of 10 and everyone enjoyed their meals and said that they would definitely be back!!!
Pleasantly Suprised. I'll admit after hearing a lot of negative feedback about this restaurant I had avoided it. However I decided to make up my own mind and give it a go. I decided to have the controversial pork belly entre and share it with my friend (I say controversial because previous reviewers said the size was insufficient). I found the pork belly entre to be a decent size, it was cooked well and the salad complimented it nicely. I could be a little bit Manu about it and possibly ask 'where is the sauce'? For main I played it safe and ordered the steak. It was a very generous serving, very tender and cooked perfectly to my request of medium rare, it perhaps could have had a little more seasoning but the meat still melted in my mouth. The sides accompanying it were full of flavour. I quite liked the food and the service was lovely. I think if the chefs could develop there menu a little further, with a few more options it will definitely be one of the better restaurants in Traralgon.
Yelena. Even after we've heard a couple of bad feedback but..went for dinner anyway and haven't been disappointed-nice place, pleasant design, good atmosphere,VERY friendly stuff, nothing wrong with a food!...Very tasty stuffed chicken breast. Will go again.
Amazing place! Excellent fo.... Amazing place!
Excellent food and service :)
Great!. Fresh oysters for entree. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. Very warm and friendly service. Highly recommended. Good job guys!
Best In Town. Avocado and feta smash is a must try, everythings good though. My friends and I go here at least once a week and have never been disappointed or left hungry.
Traralgon needed this place. Been there over a dozen times and has always exceeded our high expectations. We go out a lot in traralgon and this is the best place in town by far.
Best so far. Had lunch at Momo's today. What a wonderful experience. Staff very efficient. I decided on the Salt & Pepper Calamari, I would have to say, this is the best I have had in a very long time. Love the ambience of this restaurant. Polished concrete floors, copper piping running down walls. Old brick work. Industrial fittings. Wonderful. Will eat there again. Highly recommended.
A new dining experience in Traralgon worth trying. I had a quick iced coffee and chippies at Momo last week with a friend and must recommend it for this type of stop-in when shopping in Traralgon. The iced coffee was lovely and the chippies were up there with the best in this town - ask for the sweet chilli sauce with the chips, it's really good.
Last night I had dinner at Momo with my husband. We were lucky to book ahead because unbeknown to us, there was a street festival on outside the doors of the restaurant and the place was packed. Given the restaurant is so new and of course, so are many of the staff, this was a crazy night for the poor things. On the up-side, the linguini carbonara is to die for and the rib eye with mustard sauce wasn't bad either. Surprisingly, given two huge tables as well as a packed-out restaurant, we only waited 45 minutes for our food which was less than we expected when we saw the busy-ness of the place. The staff were trying really hard and were friendly too. On the down-side, the staff were ill-prepared for such a rush. This is completely understandable; you could tell two or three had little experience in the field and this was a really rough night for learning. Also, the selection of desserts was only ok - there's only the cake fridge but I would have preferred a dessert menu with imagination though - but the lemon tart wasn't up to my lofty standards. I like one that doesn't taste factory made and is much tangier than that.
My suggestion is to go when it's quieter or in a few months when the staff are settled in and know their stuff. I think this is going to be a serious player on the restaurant scene here - the owners are absolute delights and remember us from our visits to their other restaurant in town. Congratulations to them on this brave, bold new venture - the decor is nice, the menu is good and I'm excited.
Visited Momo’s restaurant for lunch today. Our first time, but won’t be our last. This business ticks all the right boxes;
Friendly attentive waitresses, reasonable prices, excellent menu, local wines and a pleasant ambiance.
Service was prompt and efficient. The food was beautifully presented and the balance of flavours was superb.
We went with the Risotto and a Duck salad, both excellent and recommended dishes.
To the Staff and Management, all we can add is ‘Well Done’ Team. In these difficult times we wish you well and much success in the future.
Do I recommend this business….yes, absolutely. If you are ever visiting Traralgon, drop in and enjoy a great dining experience.
It is a real pleasure to find a business that truly deserves its 5 🌟 Rating.
Great casual food made by chefs that really know what they are doing - probably one the best squid ink seafood pasta I ever had. Attentive staff, the waiter recommended cocktails when we were undecided and upsell on desserts. Modern bistro style food that is on the beat!
The food is good, the menu is a bit different to your average Australian restaurant. Have been several times, my kids love their kids fish and chips. Squid is great. I find the lighting is very dim inside and the glare from outside is really bright. Aside from lighting issue it's great.
Where to start....food was absolutely fantastic. Had the kangaroo steak, which can be hard to cook right, and god damn that was beautiful. All other dishes from the rest of the table where all great. Desserts were on point. The waitress gave her recommendation when i couldn't decide, and the churros were great. The cheesecake was also fantastic. All the staff were fantastic, friendly and very polite. The food was delicious. Beers were cold. Wasn't to loud, which is a problem in some places these days. Didn't have to yell to speak to the person opposite you. The only fault was too many delicious options on the menu, and i couldn't decide.....guess i better go back and give them all a try.
Modern, warm and inviting atmosphere…Great food…big servings…fantastic service….very professional staff. Try to leave room for dessert.
Geat venue, lots to choose from the menu. A little bit of pressure to order rewarded with great food. Bill settlement ran smoothly. A positive experience overall
The menu selection is mouth watering. The staff are insanely friendly. The chips are some of the crispiest I've ever had. The fried chicken burger is also soo crispy and the flavours are so well balanced. A really good experience here 😁 thanks!
Venue was great, food good but the inability to pay with card at the bar upstairs put a real damper on the evening. Very frustrating.
Post reply below: Thanks for the prompt response! Fully understand the issues and look forward to being back again soon when they are resolved : )
QR code was a good idea, but technically clumsy when buying drinks one at a time. It then redirected you to a PayPal account or to connect to a CC. Neither of which I had at the time. I guess I was having technical difficulties too!
Great place. Review updated. Cheers.
