Review Wah Do Chinese Restaurant - Tuart Hill

We get takeaway from here often. Its always great. They do gluten free options as well which is what brought me here to begin with! Also, the food is always ready fast.

Nice fresh Chinese food, 80s decor makes it retro.

Such a beautiful lady taking orders here. So kind and very sweet. Nice people and great food. Chinese food done right by sweet traditional Chinese people. Definitely recommend

The food a really nice but there are no toilets so if coming here make sure u go before. Also the decor is old but the chairs are comfortable.

Went there last night with wife and other couple we ordered four dishes and fried rice.two of those dishes, beef black bean and sizzling king prawn had peculiar smell and taste like it was off .took extra food home for son who had this morning said straight away it was off

Fantastic authentic food and the waitress was hilarious...and cheap as chips

8.7/10 - really good fried rice and good options

Terrific place! Like travelling back in time to the 80’s... Cheap and cheerful, fast service , great tasty food. BYO beers if you like. Mains are big serves. I got the San Choy Bow, and it was excellent, as was the satay chicken and fried rice.

Great value - highlights were the fried rice and sweet and sour fish. For a local suburban Chinese restaurant - it may not be aesthetically a pretty location but the food is decent event by my Chinese standards

We've always had good food and service here. Not sure why no one else ha s... in fact on Mother's day you have to Que. Go figure.
Try the Steamed Duck with Chinese Mushrooms for a change ; delish.
( as far as min eftpos goes, I experienced this before . We order over the amount they clearly sign, so not a big deal really.)

I don't usually write reviews but when I saw Wah Do wasn't scoring so well I was surprised.
I have been coming here for years with my family,
It has consistently been a winner with us all :)
You absolutely must try their salt and pepper squid!

please atleast do not cheat with customers...i order wonton the owner said its pork mince, being a chef myself i can differentiate Ham and Pork mince. order ribs which is just sweet chilli sauce and honey!!! guys you need to learn a lot from those chinese restaurants one in Northbridge from chinese market!! or better shut down restaurant rather than lying and selling nonsense,

Always good food here, never disappointed. Wether dining in or taking away, food is always tasty and hot. Sometimes we drop by just for a takeaway order of fried ice cream. Would be great if they added tofu to their menu for more food options instead of meat.

Not only is this place expensive, but they don't even want to take your money.
I wanted to spend $25 on take away dinner, in 2017 one would expect that a business would accept electronic payment. They wanted me to spend $30 in order to use a card. They suggested I get some spring rolls or something else from the entree menu to bring it up to $30. I took my business elsewhere to a restaurant that isn't stuck in the 90's. Won't be back.

We ordered a take away as the happy dragon was closed over Xmas, I was reluctant due to the shocking reviews on here but thought I would give it a good anyway... big mistake the worst chinese I have had !!!! I ordered satay beef and beef black bean disgusting so much so so that both my partner and I had a couple of bites and chucked it in the bin. The beef was chewy, both dishes were identical except from the sauce same cut of veggies and same veggies the sauce was flavourless the only difference seemed to be the colour the sauce was watered down and foul. It's getting a 1 for the prawn crackers only do yourself a favour so not go here.

We really enjoyed our take away from Wah Do. Friendly staff and great tasting food. Ordered satay beef, salt and pepper squid, honey chicken and combination fried rice. Reasonably priced too.

Really disappointed that there is no warning of a surcharge if your order is under $30, not sure how they get away with it as there is no ATM close by.

I ordered the satay beef which came as beef strips with the satay sauce in a separate container so it didn't taste like satay beef and more like beef with a dip.
I also ordered the garlic chicken which had more veg than chicken, mainly celery. As it was mainly celery, the garlic was lost and the celery overpowered the dish. Don't order this dish if you are specifically after a garlic dish, like I was!
The service was extremely quick but the food was disappointing. I definitely won't be back

Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. We ordered honey chicken and Mongolian beef, which had loads of different veggies. The tender meat was of good quality.
If you want some cheats easy Chinese takeaway, this could be a great spot for you. Probably not the most inviting environment for a dine in experience however.

Won't go back. Ordered beef noodles to collect for takeaway. It was quick which was good but the food wasn't good. Beef was cheap and the noodles somehow were burnt in places and chewy. Veg was overcooked and fell apart, not much flavour in the sauce either. Not worth returning as I couldn't eat it all.

Great. Slightly expensive however the food is always great and extremely quick

EXPENSIVE. I decided to get some take away on the way home, ordered over the phone and didn’t ask the price. once i arrived i was shocked to pay $24 for a small fried rice and schezuan chicken, how can they expect people to pay that much for some take away Chinese. I gave in, handed over my bank card and they said sorry minimum EFT is $30. I was shocked again, She explained to me she can charge $1 extra, I said it is a 25 cent phone call, you are making more than enough off the food. Especially when I can go across the road and pay for a small fries at maccas with no extra EFT charge.

I am not a regular reviewer but I thought I really need to express my outrage on this one.

45 Minute wait for Takeaway. Ordered at 6:45pm told it will be 15 minutes and then they lose the order. Asked 4 different times and told it was being cooked. after 30 minutes they insult me with offer of free can of coke!!! Oh and by the way that will be another 15 minutes.
After all that they still didn't want to refund my money. Unfortunately I had to ask 3 times for that and only when the volume went up did I even get that

Worst Chinese in Perth?. Should have been suspicious when the plate had a chip out of the centre(hard to do) and glasses were dirty!!!
Ordered three courses and fried rice. The mains (sizzling prawns, vegetable chow mein)were both covered with the same gravy and had no taste at all.Plenty of celery in the chow mein though.Must be seasonal special!!Third main of salt and pepper fish was disgusting cheap tasteless fish covered with half cooked batter and topped with chillies and spring onions.Disgusting.
For the price of $72 we could have dined at a much cleaner and better quality Chinese restaurant.
Be warned this restaurant is an expensive rip off for terrible food.

Ordered the beef kway teow with egg sauce for takeaway but only found out they gave us the wrong order (fried kway teow) when we got home. Plus it too oily and wasn't tasty at all. Not good.

Ah the wah do chinese. Firstly a restaurant that is empty on a fri night isn't a good sign. The food although big in portion wasn't great. I think I'll stick with Coles freezer grub in future. Lol

Had dinner here last week with a group of 9. One of our group seen into the kitchen and said it was filthy. We decided to stay but that one person didn't eat. The service was good but the food was below average. Very greasy.

Had a take away curry dish from there before. First and last time I will go there. Worst curry I ever had in my life

Just average. My normal place was closed this weekend for renos so I was forced to try something new. I've seen this place a million times and it always looks busy but I've never ventured in - I'm loyal to my tastebuds.

So anyways, tonight I sprung for the fried rice and sweet and sour pork. It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't good.

I'll give the rice the win over my local but the pork just didn't do it for me. And the sweet and sour sauce was gluggy and had a smoked flavour to it. The pieces were small and i felt like i was eating more batter than pork.

The rice was fresh and had a great flavour to it and just the right amount of extra goodies.

Average at best. I'll stick to my other place from now on...

Wah Do is a must do!. I normally don't eat Chinese food because I have to watch out for additives, but I seem OK with food from here. I especially love the sweet and sour pork and honey chicken. The pork is crispy outside, but tender and melting inside and not grissley like you get with some places, and the honey chicken is sweet, but not overly sweet, and not too soggy. The outside of the restaurant looks a bit ordinary, very typical of what Aussies expect of a Chinese restaurant to look like. But don't judge the food by what the building looks like. It's worth it!

Better quality than your average Sweet & Sour joint. Essentially this restaurant is another chicken sweet corn soup, honey chicken fried rice joint. But they do it better! My favourite dish is the chilli salt and pepper spare ribs.

Tasty. Although they've mainly got standard western choices on the menu I was pleasantly surprised by the serving size and quality of the food... worth a try.
