Always a good feed here, i love the grilled calamari meal with salad and rice. The burgers are really good here too. What i really like here is you can still get your usual deep fried traditional fish and chip meals, as well as, the more healthier options. The fattoush salad is excellent here as well.
It’s about time we have some quality fish and chips in the area I’m a big food critic and must say I have to rate this restaurant 10-10 starting from the menu to cleanliness of the shop to the set up to the service the warm welcoming the smiles from the staff is amazing the food its top quality me personally I would rather pay that extra for the quality than be disappointed and pay for rubbish I am not related or know anyone who works at this restaurant my opinion is based on my own personal experience with my wife and 2 small kids the flavours the freshness the quantity it’s all perfect keep up the good work your team deserve a pat on the back Definitely good management fair to say this business will thrive and I hope the local community enjoy and support the good local businesses 👌🏼
We went to Hide and Seek last week. The place is spotless and the food was delicious. We had the grilled flounder chips and coleslaw. The only negative for me was the amount of dressing on the coleslaw- but my husband loved it . We will certainly be going back. The best food I have had from a fish and chip shop in a long time.
I’ve been here twice now, and both times it’s been great! You get a lot of food for your money, and the salads they have on rotation are always super yummy. Would recommend!

Getting better now ! Been here a few times now and am impressed at how it’s beginning to find its feet, the fattoush salad and grilled fish pack is delicious and flavoursome. Would like it to be open a little later on Friday and Saturday nights

When I work from the Wiley Melbourne office, decent, healthy food choices are few and far between. We are based out by the airport in West Meadows and I usually just run out and grab something, there’s not much pleasure in it. I was excited to hear that among the Red Rooster, Hungry Jacks and Maccas that a fish and chip shop had opened up a swift ten minutes walk away; Hide and Seek Chippery on Mickleham Road in Tullamarine. Still didn’t sound all that healthy but my assumption was about to be squished.
Fish & Chips are an Aussie classic and the guys at Hide & Seek know how to do it right. Let me start with the potato cakes. So damn crispy and the flavor is amazing. Dont leave without eating one. The burgers are delicious and their fried packs are great value (check out my pics for the details). Ps the tartare sauce is housemade and tastes awesome. I love that they also cater to those who want to eat healthy. Delicious salads, rice and grilled fish, and meat skewers is also an option.

delish burgers!! the korean fried chicken is heaven. chips are not so great though tastes like chips have been in freezer too long had a really starchy taste but these burgers more than make up for it.

Just because it's a fair journey from home, doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. This place is definitely a delight to visit and I love their food every single time I visit. You can also make a quick stop to Hide and Seek Fish Chippery on the way to Tullamarine airport before your flight. They offer much better selection of food with reasonable price and decent quality compared to the local cafes or any cafes / restaurants in the airport.

The Tullamarine area finally lands itself a cool eatery. A higher quality, yet totally affordable fish and chips joint, with a dine-in set up? Genius! You won't miss the huge octopus mural painting on the wall as you approach the restaurant. A taste of the modern and well-designed interior to come.
The quality of the fish is impeccable. Melt in your mouth type. With a great selection of burgers on the menu, alongside your typical fish and chips menu items, there's something for everyone.
Very friendly and approachable staff. Will be back again and again.

Didn't come here for the fish and chips though. Heard they make great burgers and what I heard was correct. Loved their burgers here. Plenty of flavour and decent size.

Ok so my hubby and I came here after weeks of saying we would! But we couldn’t part with some of our fav fish n chips places elsewhere. But we finally made it and tonight we walked away confidently and both agreeing that this was the best fish n chips we’ve ever had! I had the whole baby Barra, chips n salt and pepper calamari and the hubby had the Barra burger with a serving of fries so big, the cooks didn’t believe he could finish them (he left about ten, ok ok I helped too!). We honestly couldn’t fault anything. We are massive fish n chips addicts and we are already counting down the days when we come back! Thank you hide n seek for your amazing food, friendly nature and all round great night. :)
I ordered the salmon in a meal with chips and Greek salad. Good portion sizes. Chips were perfect with the little crispy bits. Plenty of seats so you don’t have to wait for a table. Went there on Friday at about 6.00pm and it started to get busy with people at tables and takeaway. Staff were friendly. Will go again.
This new-ish fish and chippery in Tullamarine is delicious. Not only do they have yummy fish, chips and DELICIOUS crispy potato cakes, they also do delicious burgers as well. It’s a modern fish and chip restaurant, not an old-school dodgy corner shop. They have loaded fries, chicken and lamb skewers, grilled salmon with dill and the list goes on. It’s lovely and spacious and you can bring the whole family to dine in. Oh and they also have yummy milkshakes (the Oreo was my personal favourite!) and they do banana fritters and pineapple fritters. Covers all bases. So good!
Came down here to get dinner for 2 people. Tried few different things on the menu. The chips were great and the octopus was the best fish by a long shot. The fit out looks clean and fresh. I would say that this place is in line with all the new seafood restaurants opening up around the place. Room for improvement but the essentials are there.

Although a bit of a journey from the city, for Tullamarine locals or people organized enough to make a quick pit stop before a flight, Hide and Seek will fill your belly with some quality food. Amazing potato cakes, cracking burgers and importantly, some super fresh and tasty seafood. With something for everyone (even tasty shakes and desserts) you won’t leave disappointed.

I was invited to Hide and Seek with the Melbourne Foodie Hub yesterday and was seriously wowed upon entry. There is a serious distinction between your local fish and chip shop and this set up. In the league of a Hunky Dory, H&S is more of a fish and chip restaurant than a take away shop. It’s an absolutely huge space and there are plenty of healthy options available to you should you want to shy away from the notion of what fish and chips has traditionally been, battered and deep fried!
I was loving the 90s jams which created a really fun atmosphere as I bopped along waiting for the food to arrive. Not only did we try burgers and fried fish and chips we also sampled grilled fish with brown rice, some deliciously dill marinated salmon, lamb and chicken skewers and an array of healthy salads including Greek and a quinoa based creation. One of the burgers was even a grilled swordfish in keeping with the theme of offering healthier alternatives.
I was not about being healthy today and devoured the phenomenal potato cakes, it’s been awhile since I ate potato cakes and there were fantastically crunchy. We also sampled two different kinds of loaded fries which was really cool to see as something very different on offer at an f&c shop. I was loving the spicy gravy poutine one and the nacho based one was quite unique too.
Then came dessert and we tried a variety of shakes, vanilla, chocolate and caramel bring the three traditional options but my favourite was the phenomenal Oreo for its fantastic chunky cookie texture throughout. The pineapple and banana fritters had a stellar sweet cinnamon coating which smelt divine and was thoroughly satisfying.
What a great place for a post airport feed
I was expecting a tiny fish and chip shop but wow this place is almost like a fish and chip restaurant. The fish was super fresh and the potato cakes were amazing. We loved how they had a healthy option which was salad, Brown rice & grilled fish. Definitely a place to check out on the way to the airport or even on the way back home.

I drove 45 minutes with high expectations of the feast awaiting me at Hide & Seek Fish and Chippery in Tullamarine a few weekends ago. I made my way through a whole podcast and had the aircon blaring. Due to roadworks, I nearly missed the turn off on the highway, but I eventually found my way.
The shop front was huge! I was expecting a more traditional looking F&C shop, but this was a glass front, fresh looking building with a Scandinavian interior and ample seating and parking.
I went as part of a blogger's event and we were spoilt with a spread of all of their best dishes. We sampled the calamari with rice & salad, their amazing potato cakes, traditional fried fish and chips, a selection of their mammoth burgers and then some of their shakes and deserts.
The standout meals for me were definitely the potato cakes, the calamari and the PHAT burger with beef, 2XCheese, bacon, jalapeno, caramelized onions & Chipotle mayo - YUM! The oreo milkshake was also delicious.
If you live in the Tullamarine area, I highly recommend visiting Hide & Seek - the food is fresh, tasty and comes in generous serving sizes. If you don't live nearby, definitely stop on your way home from the airport, next time you pick up a friend or loved one :)
How can you go past fish and chips? A bit of a drive but well worth it with a range of burgers and some of the freshest seafood around. Very tasty.
From what used to be Jerry's Burgers and Shakes is now the NEW home to Hide and Seek Fish and Chips and these guys really know what they are doing!
The burger was spot on, the house-made potato cake was 👌👌👌 and the fish was outstanding.
The venue itself is huge, so bring your family and friends and there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

If you are ever on your way to or from the airport this would be a great place to stop off and grab fish n chips.
Unlike typical fish n chip shops this place has ample seating where you can actually enjoy a sit down meal cooked to order.
We started off with the flake which was nice and fresh with the chips which were crunchy too. This was followed by my personal favourite the potato cake which had the perfect amount of batter and crunch 😋😋.
The salt and pepper squid pack with rice and salad is also a great "healthier " option however I felt that the veggie salad lacked dressing.
The burgers were amazing, the triple patty meat burger was delicious and offered a very generous serving of pickles too. The Phat burger also hit the mark with a bit of kick with the jalapeño. The Spicy chicken burger also had great heat too.
The Orea shakes here were also delicious, it went well with the banana fritter and pineapple fritter also.Thanks for the invite
Great burgers and even better seafood! Have been here a few times and have tried a fair bit of the menu.
The flake is actually AMAZING! One night we ordered the flake with fattoush, chips, potato cakes, calamari and seafood sticks. We didn't leave room for dessert but it didn't matter as we were satisfied!
The ambience is great and staff are very friendly! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.
Terrific fish and chips! Personally had the Barramumdi which had a really tasty dressing. Calamari rings were just melting in your mouth, its almost a shame to share them. No matter what you order, a side of potato cakes is an absolute must. Terrific service and good layout. Would certainly be back to try the oysters and desserts!
Love the food at this place! Such an awesome summer option if you like your seafood. Everything was super fresh and prepared on the spot, none of the oily fish and chips we grew up with. Also some amazing beef burgers that’ll have you coming back for more. Loving the calamari too - so fresh and delicious!
Burgers, chips, fish - all of which we tried were amazing. I engaged Hide and Seek to cater an event for us and they went over and above. The food made our event an absolute success. We will definitely be back. The new local for us!
More expensive than your regular fish and chip store but it’s understandable! Inside is beautiful and there is plenty of room to dine in. Staff were super friendly! Fish was really nicely cooked and tasty. Portion sizes were on the larger side, a good place to share food with others. Would be nice to see some more options on the menu though
