Mum is obsessed with this restaurant now. We've had a burrito bowl twice and tacos too. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Great place for lunch.
Staff are really friendly, also very generous with the ingredients...best thing about eating here is that you won’t not be filled. Food is made right in front of you. Love spicy food and I’d have to say their spicy sauce was quite spicy but I loved it!!
Visited Mad Mex for the first time in a while today and noticed it had been renovated. It looks really nice, and has a good little atmosphere for something sitting inside of Garden City. The staff were friendly and the food was good. I have never had a bad experience here, so I think they are really deserving of this rating. Good serve for the price.

Today is a special day. Today is Big Burrito Challenge Day! After numerous conversations and strategy breakdowns at work, I decided to do my very first food challenge. Madmex 1kg burrito is a long running competition (each year in May) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. An authentic Mexican wresting mask is the reward & eternal glory (in my dream).
After a quick review of their menu, I pointed confidently at the wresting mask. The ladies behind the counter giggled & started preparing the monster. I chose the chicken burrito with rice, lettuce, salsa, onion, sweet corn, coriander & sour cream all smothered in their spicy chilli sauce. The burrito was weighed prior to serving to ensure exact 1kg was achieved (no cheating here guys).
After the burrito was wrapped, I began to panic...the serving size was huge! My palm started sweating & heart rate increased. What have I gotten myself into! I sat at a quiet corner took a deep breath & dug in. First bite & my worries started to ease. The chicken was tender, juicy & full of flavour. Paired with the perfectly cooked pre-seasoned rice & perfectly balance salsa, my apatite started to increase. I wolfed down the first half with ease but the problem soon began. My stomach was getting full due to the rapid pace and the content of the burrito started to become boring. After a quick stand up to regroup, few dashed of chilli sauce and a sip of mango Jarritos, I soldiered on. 3.5/5
The end result? 8 min 33 sec & my first ever Madmex wresting mask! After my quick victory lap (with my mask on of course!) I realized there were three more mask to collect...back to training i guess...
The whole experience was fun and energetic. The staff was friendly and cheering me on to the finish line. A big shout out to Madmex Garden City for their hospitality! 5/5
Hint: There is no time limit for the burrito challenge but if u want to do the timed event, the top 10 quickest will be invited back for the grand final. Prior mental and physical training is highly recommended.
Went to Mad Max - Fresh Mexican Grill with my friend and on Tuesday and we ordered the Nachos one was with black bean and the other was with pulled pork and it was surprisingly tasty and delicious as well..
Amazing food and good services as well

I would totally go back again just to try out more food they have.
So delicious! Way better than Guzman or Salsa's! This place actually gives you a decent serving for the price you pay. Staff are quick and work efficiently.

We have been trying Mad Mex Fresh Mexican for a few years now. Like most places, it can have its ups and downs with both the food quality or service. We had not tried for about 6 months, so we decided to give it a go after shopping one day. The service was nice and everyone was friendly. When we first arrived, it was quiet, but shortly after arriving the line grew. Staff did not seem flustered, and did a good job of just getting the job done.
The food was nice and has plenty of flavour. The good concept of Mad Mex is the "Subway" style of ordering. You are able to pick and choose what meat, sauces, and salads you want with your meal. We ordered a Grand Melt and a Naked Burrito. The naked burrito is nice as it has all the flavour of a burrito but in a salad form. Good if you only want half and take the rest home. The Grand Melt is great, as it is just a burrito with cheese which is then toasted on a sandwich press. So the cheese melts into your burrito. I guess it is like a Mexican kebab! Who doesn't want a Mexican kebab!
Overall, Mad Mex is good. It can be average when the staff feel like they do not want to be there, but most of the times it has been good.
I am a huge Nachos lover. At first I was a bit sceptical about the cheese sauce because I'm so used to having fresh melted cheese on my nachos. It was quite surprised. It was absolutely delicious.
The staff are always friendly and super fast. They also have a loyalty card that you can sign up for. I just paid $1.50 for my nachos. The original price is $11.50. I haven't been a member for long and already recieved a $10 credit.
Also I definitely recommend the guacamole. It's delicious!
Best burritos and most of the staff are great. My Monday veggie burrito night is always something I look forward to after work. Worth getting a loyalty card if you turn into a regular like myself as well.

We were doing some shopping on the weekend and I was craving some nachos badly so I instantly decided we had to go to this place in the outdoor restaurant area of Garden City.
Mad Mex has one of the smallest restaurants in the outdoor area but since the meals are suited for takeaway or quick eating people flow in and out. The menu is simple enough as you choose your base (burrito, taco, nachos...) then your filling (my partner chose pork and I chose veggies) and then you have extras like salsa and guacamole for an added charge but the veggie nachos has guacamole included
It's fast paced as you make your way down the ordering line saying yes to cheese and no to onions and it's basically exactly like how you order at Subway but I found the Mad Mex employees much more upbeat and friendly with a more comforting feel than a Subway. They serve alcohol with the purchase of food and the Mexican sodas in every Mexican restaurant so I ordered my favourite Mexican cola and our food was ready in the two minutes it took us to move from the start of the ordering counter to the payment counter.
My nachos were delicious and I love that they really pack on the fillings unlike other Mexican places because I was so full after only eating half of it. I did notice that the black beans sped up the process of the chips getting soggy so next time I come I might ditch those. My partner also really loved his pork burrito and said it was excellent so I think we both very much enjoyed our quick experience here and would come back again.
I dined here in a group of three on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the nachos with slow cooked beef, black beans, guacamole, hot nacho cheese and spicy salsa. This was an outstanding fast food Mexican meal, probably one of the best in Brisbane.
This is my favorite Mexican fast food.

I had Mad Mex with my boyfriend while shopping at garden city. Mad Mex was set but just like subway where you choose your meal and choose the meats, extras etc. I got the nachos with beef, I found the beef quite tough but watery. It wasn't the most enjoyable Mexican I had but it still was ok. Also around lunch time there is limited setting near the restaurant so it may be hard finding a spot to eat.
OMG!!!! This meal was tasty! I had beef nachos with guacamole, black beans, melted cheese and a medium spiced sauce.
The beef was extraordinarily juicy and flavoursome, the sauce was hot ( but not to hot ), the black beans added a beautiful texture, the melted cheese was plain tasty and the guacamole was delicious. Nothing wrong. Best nachos I've ever had. Highly recommend this place.
Fantastic lunch today at Mad Mex. I had the vegetarian naked burrito which came with rice, beans, salad and guacamole. It was really nice. Of course, it would have been nicer on a proper plate instead of a cardboard container and metal cutlery would have been better than plastic but the flavours were good.
My dining partner had the beef nachos and said the beef was flavoursome and juicy. The only negative comment is that the mild sauce was not very nice (too acidic) and it would be nice if they had a fairly plain tomato salsa for those like my dining partner that don't like spice.
The decor is nice. It is very casual and is basically fast food but one of the better ones. The staff were really lovely and happy to explain the menu. Great service from people who genuinely seemed to care.

If you haven't been to Mad Mex before, think Mexican food meets subway. You tell the staff what type of food you want (Burrito, Tacos etc.) Then you tell them the ingredients you want to have on it. If you're not sure, you can just follow their recommendation.
The food is fresh, clean and doesn't leave you feeling bloated, which I love. The staff are always friendly, and if you come often enough, they even remember your order, and your name. It's old school service meets a modern dining experience.
If you want my personal favourite. It's a chicken burrito, with extra chorizo, no sauce, then lettuce, cheese and corn. Gauc if I'm feeling fancy. It's perfect for anyone who doesn't like spicy food.
Came by at 6:35pm tonight. Was able to walk straight up to the counter for service. No waiting. Greeted by all as soon as I walked in. Loved the atmosphere and the teamwork behind the counter. Young lady and the young guy serving were awesome and provided fantastic service. 11/10. Thanks again!!!

At the recommendation of staff, we tried their new Taquitos (Mexican spring roll) - They are SO good!

AMAZING! Mad Mex provided the catering for my partners 50th on the weekend as they are his favourite Mexican food outlet in Brisbane.
We ordered the beef, the chicken, beans, guacamole and salsa. It was a HUGE success with everyone raving about the food. It was even popular with my FIL who used to be the owner/head chef of a Mexican restaurant up the coast many years ago.
