Possibly my favourite sushi train franchise in Australia. Fixed price so you know exactly what you're paying and getting. Enough variety in dishes Quick service off the tablet. Clean premises, warm decor. It will satisfy your sushi cravings.
We visit for a Sushi Dinner in the New Year. This franchise is mostly reliable for a good meal with most plates reasonably priced at $3.80. Serving sizes can be inconsistent and varies from large to stingy servings.
Came with friends. The restaurant was quite busy but the food arrived quickly. The sushi was nice, but the ox tongue was a little tough. My friends say the mochi ice cream is really nice.
I don’t know why sushi edo score is so low on Zomato because I really loves it. I have been there a few times, not matter it’s city, garden city or Sunnybank outlet. I have to say the best one is Brisbane City. The price is very reasonable compared with other high end Japanese restaurant, and sushi are not bad. Also I low the choice of half ramen and half udon that I can have something else.
Staff are friendly, the service is good. The food is fresh, really enjoy eating here ever since they opened. One of our favs is the udon or ramen which can come in smaller portions and the sushi is nice!
Was tempted by Shorty’s review so checked it out in first Sunday of last month. It was quite busy and we just managed to get a spot on the bench near the entrance. Same as its other siblings that we placed our orders through the tabulet. Unfortunately, there were a few items already ran out so we have to change the orders again. However, such let down was completely compensated when all the delicious food were presented on our table. Needless to say, the scampi nigiri is definitely the hero. Well, the eel hand rolls, ox tongue and the ramen were good too. That made us very busy at raising our thumbs up while we were enjoying the food. Thank you Sushi Edo :)
Loved by so many people, Sushi edo is surely doing well with yet another opening of shop in Brisbane Southside inside Garden city shopping centre.
I was super excited to have opening special $2 sushi eventhough I had to wait 2 hours😂
There is plenty of space inside with nice modern Sushi edo decor. Usual touch panel ordering system which makes things very efficient.
Each were fresh and tasty and considering how crazy busy the place was, quality was maintained okay. Best sushi of the day was kingfish nigiri! 😋😋😋
Quality and size of sushi is good considering the price and it sure is a strong competitor in Brisbane sushi scene.

Inside is good though, outside tables are too plain and too windy as well.
I took a trip during the special $2 promotion, only to be surprised by the lineup. It took us around half an hour before getting in. That was fine, atmosphere was ecstatic and electric. everyone was bustling with excitement. Food was just as delicious however, notably the proportion was smaller than usual. Would I go again? Yes i would, closer to where i work so i can go more often. Absolutely beautiful.
We visited this new Sushi Edo branch during their opening promotion where all the plates of sushi were $2 (excluding certain items like sashimi). However, it is important to note that this review will be based off the regular prices [$3.80 per plate]. On this occasion, the portion size of the sushi was considerably smaller than regular but this is most likely to be because of the opening promotion. Despite how busy it was, the staff were still very attentive and great to deal with. The service was surprisingly quick even with all the orders and people in the store.
The menu is the exact same as that of Sushi Edo's at other locations. As usual, there's the iPad at each table that allows you to order the plates of sushi/drinks. The aburi salmon is always a winner for me and no surprise here, it was amazing! Loaded with onions on top and perfectly seared with the delicious sweet soy sauce drizzled on top. The chicken and avocado sushi was slightly tough and cold, most likely prepared a lot in advance and stored in the fridge ready to be served up. The tempura vegetable sushi was really good. The size of the tempura was quite large and was very crispy however, the entire sushi was almost drenched in the sauce which was a bit off-putting. The raw salmon in the sushi dishes was very fresh!
Will definitely be returning to this branch of Sushi Edo even after they're done their promotion!
overall: 3.7/5

food taste: 4/5
ambience: 3/5
customer service: 5/5
pricing vs quality: 3/5
came during their opening promotion when all dishes were $2 (minus sashimi etc). worth the trek from where i live at that price. i will however review it based on its normal price.
first thing i noticed were the small portion sizes. they were marginally (maybe 20%?) smaller pieces of protein than equivalent dishes at the city sushi edo, eg scallops. not sure if it’s just bc it was their opening promotion and they just went quickly and didn’t pay particular attention to portion sizes, which is understandable. hopefully their portion sizes will be decent enough when they return to their normal prices.
also noticed some rolls (eg soft shell crab hand roll) had a comparatively huge portion of rice to offset the smaller portions of other stuff. a lot of the food had too much mayo imo (eg wagyu nigiri) but i just prefer not to have mayo with my sushi. nevertheless the taste for all the dishes were there and the salmon was fresh :)
i did order an unagi nigiri since i didn’t see it on the touch screen menu nor on the train. i just assume they decided not to have this during their promotions? they said they had it but i waited around 30 mins but the dish never came :c but maybe it’s because they were really busy and it’s hard to keep track of orders that aren’t put in through the screen.
anyway the service was lovely and surprisingly quick despite the line of people. i enjoyed coming here. i hope more sushi edos will have $2 plates promos but unlikely hahaha
