The staff were very welcoming and extremely accommodating! Thank you for a wonderful night and fabulous food!!
5 of us from work did a groupon special here on a Friday afternoon. I thought it was fabulous value at just over $125 (and we booked for 6 so they served us food for 6). The 1 star off is from Ms P who was disappointed that the tea part of the high tea was teabags and hot water. I dont drink tea so i wouldnt know. She did love the wee chocolate profiteroles though. The service was excellent, the bubbles were lovely, the place settings were pretty and the food was plentiful and delicious. An all round lovely thing to do.
Service by all staff was very good meal was well presented and cooked. Deserts are well worth trying thanks for making our night out an enjoyable experience. C u again soon.
Lovely place, very nice setting for a romantic dinner. I ordered the vegan paella & was surprised when it came out with a whole sliced slab of tofu! Great value! My husband enjoyed the gnocchi. Sadly we had no room for dessert this time. Pretty faultless really. Maybe lighting the candles would make it a touch more cosy :)
Pictured: garlic & ginger squid with jalapeno salt served with slaw and a passionfruit & chilli dressing $18. A few years ago, my partner and I decided to have dinner at Stewart’s at Brookleigh in the Swan Valley and we have continued to go back here every year since then. The reason we decided to try the place was originally because it was in the Entertainment Book with a “buy one main, get one main free” deal. However we definitely stumbled across a hidden gem! Stewart’s at Brookleigh is a quaint little cottage-like restaurant located in the Upper Swan area. It is secluded by itself and surrounded by beautiful vineyards. The food here has always consistently been impeccable. The atmosphere is cosy and romantic with the fireplace burning in the winter and simplistic wooden décor. I can just picture this would be a lovely place to have a small wedding! The service here is wonderful; staff are welcoming and attentive. We have only eaten here during dinner time and have enjoyed every meal that we have had.
Came for a Thursday lunch. There was an initial mix-up with our booking with the waiter telling us our booking was for 2 when it was actually for 6 (could even see 6 written in the diary) and this seemed to take a while for him to sort out with the manager/owner, but the waiter remained pleasant and polite and drinks were served quickly. Meals took a long time to arrive. I know they were endeavouring to have all food ready to bring out at the same time, but there was still only two other tables of people in the restaurant and they were all eating dessert by that point, and unfortunately the delay meant some of our meals came out only just warm. Together our table of 6 tried the fish of the day (salmon with broccolini and potato gratin), the sweetcorn and zucchini fritters, mozzarella sticks, bruschetta, O,F,C (olives, fetta, chorizo tasting plate), and the garlic and ginger squid. Slight downfalls were the squid (batter was quite thick, couldn't taste the ginger, garlic or jalapeno salt, but otherwise an enjoyable dish), the mozzarella sticks were a little flavourless and the accompanying 'dipping relish' was thick and had to be spooned out, rather than dipped in. The biggest downfall was the 'ciabatta' bread served with the tasting plate and bruschetta - tiny, thin slices of so-called ciabatta that was so toasted it was rock hard and pretty much inedible. The bruschetta mix was omato, fetta and some ?basil with very little dressing - bland and flavourless. The waiter was notified and he stated "the bruschetta is not normally like that" but said he would let the chef know...we never did have any apology or any return feedback about it though. It's a nice enough setting but the service and food needs some improvement.
We went to Stewart's for lunch and were very impressed. The food was lovely (we had the Sri Lankan Dahl, garlic and ginger squid as starters and duck and pork belly for mains) and the service was excellent. We will be adding this to the places we want to come back to with friends. Now I'd better get back to the lemon curd and fill pastry before my husband eats it all.
Had a Groupon voucher for Share platter for 2 and 2 glasses of wine. Booked for a Friday lunch as Swan Valley is very busy on weekends. Really nice setting and decor. Only 2 other couples there. Platter was very good and extras on the side of stuffed tomatoes, spiced nuts and pork crackle. Food came quickly. White wine was nice, bought 2 more. Ordered Desserts, apple/ rhubarb crumble and a flourless orange cake with Ice cream. Both nice. Prices for the wine, desserts and cocktail reasonable (Cocktail $15, usually pay $17/$18 other places). Entertained by the 2 Ducks romancing on the lawn outside. Pleasurable lunch, will do again.

Lovely venue with OK service. Food was good. I had a papadelle pasta dish with asparagus, brown mushrooms in a garlic sauce. Really good! Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake with s hazelnut ice cream. Pretty average as the chocolate cake tasted like a chocolate brownie.
Love this place. A beautiful place to waste an afternoon grazing and sipping wine. Decor is smart, sophisticated and comfortable. Food is Devine. Would like to see less deep fried options on the tapas menu though
We went to this place for lunch one weekday based on the good reviews and because it was in the entertainment book. Pleased to say we were not disappointed.
Service was excellent, but we did dine on a pretty quiet afternoon. We were recommended the grilled ciabatta with dukkah to start. I don't know how, but it must've been the best bread entree we have eaten! The bread was toasted to perfection and goes perfectly with the baba ganoush and dukkah. We also had the lamb shank, which was their lunch special for $25 and the cod risotto. Both were cooked really well and we cannot fault them.
The restaurant is located on a beautiful property. Plenty of space inside, so you don't feel like you're sitting with the people at the next table. Pretty good place for prams too if you are looking for a kid friendly place.
It has been a long time since I have had nothing but wonderful things to say about a restaurant. In the Swan Valley, an equestrian property with a day spa, accommodation, leisure club and lovely restaurant - this was my dads Father's Day treat and we were not disappointed. We shared bruschetta, chicken & papaya salad, croquettes and salt'n'pepper squid from the entire/shares part of the menu. Each dish was delicious and a stand-out. The place is beautiful, service fantastic and value for money fantastic. We had a pale ale each and four shared plates all coming to a total of $75. Thrilled with our experience and looking forward to returning.
There's always a slight worry when returning to a restaurant which you loved so much the first time that it may not be so good the second time. Mr. Spittoon and I had dinner at Stewarts at Brookleigh in the Upper Swan back in 2013 and loved it! Last week our soon to be new neighbours suggested we have dinner with them at Stewarts on Friday night to try out their new winter menu and we simply couldn't refuse. But would it live up to our absolutely fabulous first visit in 2013?
Good choice. Excellent friendly service, fantastic food and very nice wine selection. Fisherman's stew highly recommended! Can't wait to go back.
Food was delicious, we will definitely return! The wait wasn't very long but I think management needs to look into having more staff as the poor girl working was literally running from table to table
YUMMY. First time at Stewarts at Brookleigh and would definitely go again. Pork Belly was cooked to perfection, steak melted in your mouth. Service was really good, a place to go for a special occasion.
Great experience. Went to Stewarts for lunch with friends. We shared several entrees all of which were great tasting and presentation was good. All the main courses were what we asked for, steak cooked correctly and the salmon was yummy. Deserts were all very nice. Service was attentive but not over the top. Nice relaxing surroundings. Most enjoyable.
Casual friendly service a bit too relaxed for the type of upmarket restaurant it is. Wonderful scallop entree and black angus steak. Beautiful presentation. My husband had the confit duck which was quite small. Overall a lovely Sunday lunch spot.
As a party of three, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Stewart's holds a high standard from start to finish.
The food: Extremely good. My mains of prawns on a filo pastry was presented beautifully and perfectly cooked. Our side of seasonal greens were equal to the main, with excellent presentation & taste. The market fish (salmon) of the day and duck leg confit was equally of a high standard of presentation and taste.
The service: Informative, unobtrusive and friendly. The service very much complemented the great food, as it should.
The prices: on par with fine dining restaurants of this calibre in Perth.
The setting: Lovely decor, tables & surroundings. There were some tables set up in preparation for a wedding reception that night – I can imagine this would be an idyllic setting for a wedding reception.
A high quality dining experience. Great food, service and setting with fair prices reflecting the high quality. I would happily recommend Stewart’s to friends and I would return.
Great steak and starters. Staff were really nice. Defiantly would go back.

Wow, how did I not know about this place!. My son is greeting married here so we thought we would give it ago. Fantastic!
Not just the food but quality service. It's been a long time since the total dining experience has been as good as this.
What a lovely little spot. We had the duck (which was a tad dry but good flavour) and the beef (cooked well). Service was fast and friendly and the gold card discount made the trip a winner.
Elegant dining. Have eaten a Stewart's on several occasions. The last time was just a couple of weeks age for Sunday lunch. Only one thing I can say, GREAT food. Have never had any things else but good food and good service. Can highly recommend this place.

Sensational Food in the Valley. There are many beautiful places to eat in the Swan Valley, none more so that the idyllic setting of Stewarys. Just off Great Northern Hwy, driving towards Stewarts involves an avenue of trees before pit stopping in the car park surrounded by white fences and lush green grass. The weather is pretty temperamental when we arrive – gloomy, overcast and cold with sporadic showers of rain. The interior of Stewarts however is warm, homely and welcoming.
I make a booking for a ridiculously late lunch – 2.30pm (the kitchen closes at 3pm) with my sister and I. Worried that I have breached some unspoken rule that you should never book so close to a kitchen’s close, I discuss this with the waitress on the phone – she is quick to assure me that all is well, and our booking is secured for my required time.
Upon arrival, we realise that we are the only patrons there. We are quickly seated by our friendly and down to earth waitress, who greets us with a pleasant smile. We stick with water for the drinks, but Stewarts has an extensive wine and drinks menu for those who sought it.
We go straight for mains. I have the slow cooked lamb rump ($36) with truffle mash, English spinach, onion jam and braised jus. The meat was just pink inside and had a melt in the mouth consistency – I practically didn’t even need to use my knife to cut through it, it just came away. The truffle mash was buttery and fluffy, the English spinach just wilted, the onion jam deliciously sweet – the jus however was simply amazing. It was sticky, silky and full bodied with meaty flavours. Highly recommended.
My sister has the pan roast chicken and confit leg ($38). It comes with preserved lemon risotto and sweet corn croquette. I get a chance to try it and it is another winner – the chicken skin just crispy on the outside, the meat tender and succulent inside. The lemon is so subtle in the risotto and the aborio rice is perfectly cooked. The sweet corn croquette is massive – it has a crusty exterior and is filled with juicy corn kernels. Alongside it comes a swirl of jus and a pile of rocket. A fab dish with a nice balance of flavours.
The dessert. Ultimate churros ($12.50). Simply the best I’ve ever had. It’s a delicate looking dish, with six churros, dippy eggs and fresh strawberries. The churros themselves are crunchy, dosed in a good amount of cinnamon sugar and are not the saturated in oil. They are light and fluffy inside and are absolutely brilliant with the dark molten pool of chocolate. The “dippy” eggs are simply normal eggs hollowed out and filled with chocolate. We love it so much we scrape the bottom of the egg till only white shell is left. So good.
Our other dessert is the sticky date pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream ($12.50). The sticky date cake itself is a soft slab, moistened by the presence of pool of caramel sauce. The ice cream sits atop it all and begins melting rapidly upon arrival, but it still tastes amazing. Sticky date pudding at Stewarts is a perfect winter dessert.
Just outside, Stewarts looks like a modern day cottage out in the middle of nowhere. It’s simply beautiful and would be perfect as a wedding/ birthday venue. It has exquisite food, dishes which are so elegantly presented with bright splashes of colour and fantastic accommodating service. We use the Entertainment voucher gold card and the bill comes up to about $60 for two whole courses each – amazing value for money (considering the quality of the food as well!). Stewarts is well worth the drive down. Absolutely faultless.
Overall Rating: Nine out of Ten Churros
Good quality dining experience. Food and wine solidly but well priced to reflect the quality of the fare on offer. Great surroundings, superb service. One of the best in Perth for a lazy lunch on a sunny day. Like it a lot!
What an awesome place to go for any meal.. We must have been there 5 times now and not once have they let us down. Everyone was happy! They even have a vegetarian menu & gluten free chocolate cake. We have been for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a wedding! IT'S WORTH THE DRIVE
Excellent food. We had an amazing lunch for two here on 14 April. Started with the "New Season Figs" which shows they know how to let the produce do the "talking". I had perfectly cooked salmon with the tastiest asparagus. My wife couldn't stop going on about how good her lamb was. Based on the quality of food, I would say this place is great value for money.
Past its used by date. Went there last weekend for lunch and was sat in an area which appeared to be the dance floor. when ask to be moved to a nicer table we were told that they were setting up for a function and to take it or leave it. should have left then and there as it only got worse. could have been offered a better wine list at the local Chinese restaurant and 3 of the wines that we chose were not available!! decided on a beer instead and suprise... not available!! restaurant looked tired and grotty.. mop buckets and rubbish left in plain sight for us to look at and the toilets were filthy. got the feeling we were intruding on their set up so ordered a few entrees and left . lots of other better options in the vally if u want to go for a long lunch and not feel hurried out the door.
A good way to go! My wi.... A good way to go!
My wife and I breezed in without booking, were seated promptly and given chilled water. The aircon was a little breezy so we asked to move to another table - no problem at all, even though we had started drinks. Decor is an eclectic mish-mash of styles which, IMO does not quite succeed, but still manages to be comfortable and homely in a dated sort of way. Tables are not cramped and the ambient noise level when busy still allowed for an intimate conversation.
The menu selections and wine list was varied enough to be interesting and satisfying with enough emphasis on seasonal produce and local vineyards.
Table service was quite acceptable.
The food was a welcome surprise. Although some minor flaws, the overall result was classy and one to recommend. Portions were generous and in hindsight we could have done without the 'sides' as there was ample fare on the plates.
Priced well, Stewart's provides an above average meal in a location where good restaurants are few and far between.
We will return with friends!
My date and I went here for Valentine's lunch. Might I say that this is the BEST food I have ever had in Perth. You can only get food that matches this quality in Margaret River.
The lady who served us was very friendly as well and knew her wines very well! I highly recommended Stewart's
Great evening, great service. Thank you Neil and Tom, you made my birthday very enjoyable. Good luck in the gold plates this year. Andy & Michelle
Had a beautiful duck main course followed by lovely crunchy churros! Only downfall was the piece of plastic in my sisters seafood stew :( Staff were friendly and quick with service, overall a great night!
Great service and food was good...menu was small though. Lovely setting & nice decor.

We have been here a few times now and always find the food to be lovely. Having been married there 6 months prior we were greeted with a complimentary champagne which was a nice touch. We had the duck and pork belly which were great, highly recommend the place and will be back again.
A Sunday breakfast worth the drive. Came here for Sunday morning breakfast. Had no reservation but were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff. Food was very fast and quite tasty. Good value for money.
Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here yesterday. A gem of a find in Swan Valley. Had the chilly & garlic prawn spaghetti which was perfect! My wife ordered the salmon. I wasn't going to try her dish as I have never enjoyed grilled salmon before due to it's distinct smell. Let me tell you, I tried it and it was amazing - no strong salmon smell and perfectly cooked. We ended up sharing our meals with great satisfaction. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We had an Upper Reach 2009 Shiraz which was soooo good we went to their winery up the road afterwards to pick up a bottle for home. This place is a winner for that special occasion.
Great size portions. Our swordfish was delish! All the other plates looked great too!!
Simple bistro food in lovely surroundings. The service here was impeccable- the waiter Todd was friendly, polite and gracious. We ordered the spaghetti with prawns and garlic oil and the crumbed pork with fondant potatoes and celeriac remoulade. We also ordered a side of salad caprese (buffalo mozarella, tomatoes and basil). The watershed cab sav wine was delicious and well priced (approx. $7 per glass). The serves were generous and food tasted fresh and we both thought the spaghetti was the best of the dishes. However I thought the salad caprese while it was fresh lacked a lot of flavour and needed salt. The pork dish really needed a sauce or something to bring all the flavours together. Overall I would recommend this place, as I could not fault freshness of the food and the fine service.. however I think the food lacked creativity and therefore is more in the realm of bistro style instead of fine dining, and just needs a few tweaks of their menu to get there. However if you are after large serves of good quality food you wont be disappointed- 7/10.
Nice food and ambience. Not perfect but has potential!. Well, looking thorugh the top restaurants in the Swan Valley, Stewart's at Brookleigh appeared to rate quite highly.
Located on an estate in upper swan on the Great Northern Highway, it is a picturesque estate with a stable, greenery and restaurant. And a lovely, character building the restaurant was with plenty of space between tables. A beautiful, open and elegant ambience.
The waitresses were young and accomodating although we noted there appeared to be a large Christmas party or two. So although they tried to be attentive, it was quite obvious they could have done with an extra two people on the floor.
Service aside ... the waitress apologised for the slow service several times and I do appreciate their honesty and effort to ensure I had an enjoyable experience.
This place certainly has potential. From the outset with entree, it was clear the chef used fresh, likely local produce. Vine ripened tomato, freshly torn basil and an effort at presentation and our chorizo entree was a little greasy but yummy and fresh.
It also was quite obvious the chef was a little too fond of his olive oil!
The twice cooked duck was nice. Not Alain Fabregues nice (of Loose Box) and just a tad overcooked and stringy. But the flavours were there. The beetroot salad was an interesting flavour of sweet, caramelised onion, I suspect some verjuice or vino cotto and beetroot with rocket and pine nuts.
The Nero pasta ... was a little disappointing. Generous servings of prawn and pasta. But if I was to do the dish, I wouldn't add half a cup of garlic infused olive oil! It wasy way too heavy. Freshly made tagetelle and either a light drizzle of olive oil with a few slices of chilli, garlic, basil and seafood would have kept it simple. Or a tomato based sauce. I felt the pasta was overcooked (several minutes past al dente) and the gallon of olive oil meant I failed to finish the dish.
So, all in all ... I asked my dining partner what she thought? 7/10? Would she come back and did she like it? Yes, she liked it. But 7/10 it was ... but this place - with a little more attention to detail and refining of it's dishes certainly could be something more.
We'll likely try again.
Soooo excited about the new wine bar... will be a firm friday night fixture for me! Great that they support local wineries and what great wines. Menu is always new. (NEVER take the churros off the menu!!!! ) i always enjoy my meals here, and my "sneaky lunches" with the girls.
I love this resturant! I have eaten here many times over the years. The menu changes with the seasons and the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly and not intrusive. I love it so much I even had my wedding here last year. The food and service was amazing, I still get compliments and many of my guests are regulars now!
Good service fine food. Excellent ambience helped along by a good wine list. Highly recommended.
Always great!. Whenever we come here (including tonight) the food is always good quality and delicious! I had the pasta special of gnocchi with lamb, olives and mushrooms in a tomato sauce! Hubby had the venison. They have extended the restsurant and it's quite spacious now. Service is great aand they memorise your order.
Top Quality. Great service and food. Nearly worth the price. Perfect location for a romantic dinner unless your gay.
Consistently good. Have eaten lunch here a number of times and our daughter even had her wedding reception here. Always good food, lovely relaxed atmosphere, nice wine list and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable too - highly recommended.
Will go back again and again!. We've been here a few times now, and each time I'm more impressed. My favourite is the pistachio crusted camembert and the duck for main. I always get close to making myself sick because I love the desserts, but 3 courses is so filling!
Perhaps a little expensive, but ultimately worth it for the brilliant quality, excellent service and beautiful view :)
What a treat. After stopping at about 6 restaurants in the Swan Valley only to be told they were full or had finished lunch service (typical Swan Valley) we tried our luck at Stewart's at Brookleigh. Promptly taken to a lovely garden side table on the verandah and drink orders taken. Enjoyed a fabulous Dukkah of which the Chef kindly emailed the recipe so I could recreate at home. My partner enjoyed a generous serving of Peking Duck which I aroused the interest of all passer-bys with my wildly aromatic Morrocan Prawn Curry - also a very generous serve. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone heading to the Valley for great food, service and atmosphere. Can't wait to return.
Valentines at Brookleigh. A bit of a belated review as we went to Stewarts for the first time about 6 weeks ago for Valentines Day, but better late than never.
The Brookleigh grounds and buildings are beautiful and atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely. It was a nice warm evening and we sat in the outer part of the restaurant which was great in the summer time. Between the two of us we had the pistachio crusted camembert and the sea scallops (the sticky honey sauce was beautiful) for entree, fish of the day and lamb backstrap for mains and then chai creme brulee and the tasting plate for dessert (so decadant, just delicious). The portions were on the smaller side but well balanced and perfectly filling, everything was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Food delivery could have been a tiny bit prompter but the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful and seeing as it was a special occasion we had no problem with the leisurely pace of the meal and this isn't really a complaint.
All up we had a fantastic meal, were very happy and will definitely return.
Beautiful view and good food. Probably a special occasion place because you need the 3 courses to fill up.
Breakfast. We went to Stewart's today for breakfast - I had the 3 egg omelette, wife had the Eggs (scrambled) on toast and my Father in law had the full breakfast (scrambled).
Initial coffees were all luke warm but tasted great. My meals was fine but the scrambled eggs weren't a meggs mix but it would've seemed to have been created in a batch - they were too salty on both plates - I would've hoped for a little more quality testing from the kitchen on that.
However everything else was pretty much spot on and the second round of coffee I asked to be hotter (to which the coffee's came out just like a normal coffee should be). We'll be going back again, perhaps to try a dinner there as well.
The staff were friendly and it was a nice place to dine with a relaxing setting.

In short: A good meal with a standout dessert (coconut panna cotta) and nice ambiance. We stayed briefly in the Swan Valley a weekend or so ago and ate our way around the area- expect a few more posts about restaurants from this region! On our last day, we had dinner at Stewart’s at Brookleigh – worth a try if you’re up this way...
Had hi tea here with my friends and we couldn't fault this place. From the moment we walked in the setting was perfect for a cold wet day. The fire place made this place so warm and inviting. The decor was lovely too and the pea and ham soup shots we received first went down well on this cool day. We also received a sparkling wine each. Them we received a variety of sweets and savoury treats and scones with cream and jam with a pot of tea for the table. The food and tea all tasted good and we were all very full.
The food was fantastic but what most impressed me was the service. There was only one waiter but he took our order without writing it down and got nothing wrong. He attended our table just enough.
I'd go back there In heart beat. Nice quiet place with good food and good service.
My husband took me here for a date day for high tea and it was amazing. The food, atmosphere and customer service from the waiter was on point. I can't wait to come back and and have a meal here one night. Thank you 😊
Food and service was spot on. Attention to detail was given and the chef knew his stuff. Well priced and a really nice atmosphere. Definitely be going again
Love the high tea here, especially the beautiful table settings
