My friend and I popped into this place as we were craving middle eastern food and were greeted by a very friendly lady, who I presume was the owner. We got there pretty early and thought it would fill up as the night went on but most tables remained for the duration we were there (it was a Saturday night). We got the meat set and some beans and left very satisfied with our meal. Didn’t blow my mind but the quality was about on par with The Prophet which makes me wonder why that restaurant is always so busy. Prices were a little bit higher but the meals were perfect for sharing.
Super lovely. The owners are super lovely and the food was amazing. Went with a mixed group of vegans and non-vegans and everyone left very satisfied! Will come back when we can!

Lovely place, we went there last year for our anniversary. The ambiance is vibrant and relaxed. The food is full of flavour and as authentic as it can get, the portion sizes are generous. The owner himself takes your order and helps you navigate through the menu, he is prompt and a true professional. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to try authentic Middle Eastern food.
Absolutely superb food! Had the Maza for 2 (Meat) and my partner had a Lebanese coffee after the meal. The Maza was fantastic tasty treats and extremely tender meat. The experience itself was also cool. Sat in the traditional low seating and the Maza is served in many small dishes over three courses. By the time the third course came both of us were too full to eat any more. Took it home in a takeaway container. Just as good the next day 😊. The couple who run the place were the only staff (quiet night) and the service was more friendly than professional, like eating in their home. All for $20 each!
The owners here are a cute couple who are very welcoming. Have eaten here twice now and decided to return with a voucher. Both ordered the mixed bbq platter which was good but not amazing. The chicken and lamb were both cut quite small which made it dry unfortunately. The falafel also wasn't as good as I have tasted in other restaurants. Other than that was a nice meal and friendly service.
I've eaten at both the Prophet and Eli's tent, the only difference between the two restaurants that I can find is the size and the location, the food is authentic and fresh in both places. We can always get a table at Eli's and the owners provide a very warm welcome. The Meza for two is a great selection of dishes which are full of flavour. The decor might be a little dated and daggy but who cares, the food is what keeps us coming back time after time.
Every time I visit, they have provided very tasty and quality Lebanese food. They have very good vegetarian options and all of them taste super good. The owners are very nice and offer pleasing customer service. The food is worth the penny you spend and the quantities are quite filling.
Saturday nights they have belly dancing too!
The vibe of Elie's tent is very similar to some time I spent in the Middle East in the various desert tents; beautiful decor with low lying comfy couches and stunning rugs. Then comes the food, deliciously satisfying and authentic Lebanese food, and to top it off, Elie is such a knowledgeable and friendly man. Really enjoyed the meal, and the price point was perfect!
The couple (who I suppose are the owners) are incredibly warm and very hospitable. Definitely a plus for me because good customer service goes a long way.
The food tastes authentic and it was nice trying a different cuisine for a change. We had the barbecue platter- meat was tender and full of flavour. The kibbeh kraas was packed with ingredients and spices and lastly the shawarma dajaj reminded me of what I would have in a chicken kebab.
Admittedly we made it here as the first preference was booked out well in advance. Regardless it was still a good option and didn't disappoint.
Authentic home style food. Belly dancing was a twist.
Enjoyed the food and restaurant. Prices very cheap ($12 a dish) but they are entree sized and no rice so you will have to order separate. Lucky we weren't hungry that night, but it did come with bread. I would go back but not for a big meal as I can imagine it would get quite costly.
Authentic middle eastern flavours in every dish. Each dish was perfectly cooked and not greasy. We ordered takeaway, but we were impressed with the restaurant layout and design. Definitely on par with Prophet Lebanese in Vic Park.
We dined in on a Monday for lunch and ordered the BBQ platter and 2 of the desserts. Everything was fresh and flavoursome, plenty of bread to go with all the meat too. The food tasted authentic and the service was friendly. Can't wait to go back again!
The food was Great with great variety and great taste. There waS the opportunity to sit at the table or be more comfy on the cushions. Staff were happy to accommodate special dietary needs.
Nice friendly staff with a great open area for larger groups that gives the feel of being in an Arabian Tent. Awesome dips and Falafels
Vegetarian friendly as well as s lamb lovers fest
I had a wonderful experience at Elie's Tent. Upon arrival the owners were very welcoming and the restaurant was warm and cosy. The decor was very traditional and authentic. The menu had many options to choose from and everything sounded delicious. We chose the Maza for two and was very impressed with the huge serving sizes. Would recommend Elie's Tent for a great, authentic Lebanese experience!
As soon as I walked in the door the owners were super friendly and inviting. We were with a big group and the service was quick. My favourite dishes of the night was the hommus and the lamb skewer, the meat was so tender and had great flavours. The whole night I felt really looked after, the lady even made a fresh batch of the Lebanese style lemonade for us!
Location is key when choosing somewhere to meet. I've got friends and family both north and south of the river so Victoria Park is usually a good middle ground for us. Elie's tent is situated perfectly along the main strip opposite the Vic Park Hotel.
Stepping inside this quaint restaurant was like taking a trip to another place. Beautiful drapery work line the ceilings, an assortment of Lebanese trinkets filled the room.
We were greeted by friendly waitstaff who quickly had us seated and feeling comfortable. I was actually shocked at how above and beyond they went for us, service like this is not the norm these days in Perth, I find.
The seating arrangement options at Elie's tent varied. There were areas of regular tables and seats and areas of lower tables and cushions. As we were a bigger group we spanned across a couple of tables and onto the elevated seating. I found myself on the floor surrounded by cushions comfortable as ever (which at first I had not come to anticipate).
Table service was prompt. First we were served a selection of eggplant dip and hummus with flat bread. The hummus was incredibly smooth and I had to keep reminding myself that it was there to share not to just wolf down myself. These thoughts weren't quite necessary however as there was an abundance of food. Servings of fallaffel and Lebanese pastries came to follow. I was particularly impressed by the range of vegetarian options the staff had arranged for us, as a vegetarian I find myself too often ordering from the sides menu and having chips for dinner. The vegetable pastries were delicious and packed full of spicy flavour, the light, wafer like pastry itself balanced the filling well. Tabouli and some marinated rice dishes were served at this stage. The tabouli was so fresh and zesty, making a great accompaniment to the heavier rice dishes.
Elie's Tent provided my friends and I with an excellent night. The middle eastern charm of this hidden treasure will surely bring me back in the new future.
My partner and I came here for the first time for lunch on a Monday afternoon, and were surprised that the place was empty. The food tastes delicious and authentic, and came out in a timely manner.
Service was very good. The lady who I believe is the manager, was super friendly and helpful in helping us decide what to eat. She also threw in some complimentary extras for us too, which we really appreciated.
Will definitely be back.
I would recommend Elie's for a big group dinner. Very relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. The hummus was a highlight and the friendly staff made sure we were taken care of throughout the night.
Quick and easy service, great food with decent Vegetarian options. 10/10 tabouleh and hummus. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere and aesthetics of the place.
For those looking to excite their pallete, you have come to the write place. Elie's tent is a gateway into delicious Lebanese cuisine. Elie's place has welcoming atmosphere that invites sharing food. A perfect place for groups or family. I recommend the chicken and rice, a plate filled with an advenrure your taste buds will appreciate, the meat melts in your mouth and the rice us cooked to a pefection. The two ingredients coupled with an amazing selection of spices makes for an entertaining dish. Prepare your tastebuds for a trip.
Elie's tent has a great atmosphere along with plenty of seating for family or friends. Quality of the food of great with everything tasting fresh and home made. I had a great time and highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys authentic cooking.
Definitely a Lebanese classic. I loved the environment and the food, and expect nothing less from the good service. I recommend this for sure👍🏽
Situated in the heart of vic park elies tent provided us with an easily accesable middle ground to meet with the curtin rap club. Unreal food with great service, staff couldnt have done anymore for us. Will definitely be back soon to experience this environment with shisha involved ;) an open seating was grea for us as we came in a big group,
This place is awesome! Excellent service, the staff are always willing to help out. Definitely recommend the chicken rice dish! I'll be back!
Really lovely food, presented beautifully! Fantastic fallafels with top quality customer service. The interior design is beautiful and authentic! A step through a door and victoria park transformed into an authentic beautifully put together Lebanese restaurant.
Great middle eastern experirnce, the atmosphere sold this place to me straight away and the food was fantastic and quite unique. Would definitely reccomend, and the area is great.
Tables and decoration were very well set up, very good for a social group dinner. Food was excelent and service was lovely. Would recomend. This review will be at least 140 characters long
I didn't like tabouleh before I came here but I dig it now. The meat was juicy and fatty and delicious. Everything well-seasoned. Tasty food and an unassuming but warm and lovely atmosphere.
Great food with a real authentic flavour. Service staff were very friendly and always helpful. Fantastic interior decoration and colour; loved the experience!
Absolutely awesome food, huge portions so I was really satisfied. Good vibes and the owners were lovely! Would highly recommend the Maza for 2 as it is PLENTY for 2 people and will leave you satisfied
The food was very authentic and full of flavor. I had the bbq platter and my friend had the chicken rice. Both tasted great and the service was friendly. The waitress answered all our questions about the menu and seemed willing to help.
Authentic Lebanese food with most dishes being prepared by the wife/ owner of the restaurant. I have taken my Lebanese friends here from Sydney when they are craving food from home and they rave about how authentic it is. Do not be put off by how quiet the restaurant can be, put simply the owners are getting a semi retired couple who are old school. They don't fluff around with advertising and promotions they just focus on the gorgeous food they deliver. It's a shame so many people are sheep and are turned off by the lack of others dinning there. We go out to eat incredible food we can't make at home so while most of Perth is missing out by judging a book by its cover we know this to be one of the hidden gourmet treats of Perth.
Went for Harem night and the food was great. Very nice food, belly dancers were wonderful and we had lots of fun! It was crazy busy, unfortunately they were short of staff, there were only two waiters and while they were friendly there were not nearly enough of them! We had the banquet and it was delicious, with plenty of food. It is a shame that they did not have enough waiters.
Best and most authentic Lebanese food in Perth!! Not just kebab and chips like the other places, and yes, it beats The Prophet hands down. Yummy kebab meats, homemade vine leaves, hearty stews. Home-style food; feels like you have a Lebanese grandmother who is cooking for the family. My favourite is the vegetarian platter, and do try the rose water lemonade! If you have a birthday and bring a cake, you'll get special treatment too. Entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights is also fun. Love this place; I often take friends there.
Nice Quite spot on Albany Hwy. We picked Elie's Tent to try something different. Family who runs the business was lil friendly as compared to the waitresses working.
Saturday night and the restaurant was still quite. Belly Dancing wasn't really an attractive sight.
Our entrée - mix dips - normal Lebanese bread with homemade dips was good
Mains - Kafta, Chicken Rice, Shawarama chicken and veggie plater were good taste and came to our table in a decent time.
Homemade Lemonade was cordial and taste strong and no one of us really liked it.
Overall a lil family run restaurant with an average service and OK food.
Had the veggie platter and fattoush. Food was great except for the veggie stew (bland). Homemade lemonade didn't taste very homemade. Authentic lebanese food. Worth trying.
Dined here on a Saturday night, the place was empty when we arrived so we weren't expecting much. The food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. The meat maza had lots of tasty courses which for 35 dollars each we thought was really good value. We even ordered an extra tabbouli it was that good. Being BYO meant kept the bill low too. The only negative I can add is that we had to go outside the restaurant to get to the toilets and there is only one male and one female toilet and on a cold night waiting outside an occupied toilet isn't ideal.
Overall great food and service at a great price, we will definitely be back!
Had dinner at Elie's tonight (Saturday) and it was fantastic! The food was fabulous and tasty, we had the meat maza for $35 per person. Totally worth it, everything was yummy! The belly dancer came out at 8:00pm which was very entertaining. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Be sure to book a table on Friday/Saturday night.
Ben there twice now thought id write something up.. Two things really. First the food both times was AMAZING!
and second the entertainment... Its second to none!!!. A beautiful belly dancer of sorts puts on a great show highly recommend this restaurant 5 stars
Authentic. I don't understand why this place is empty!
My friend and I went for a very early dinner and ended up being the only people in the restaurant but we didn't feel like we were imposing, the service was great.
The food! Oh my! It's soooo good! And authentic and yum! And not expensive!
And I love the little stand of desserts at the till :)
Great night out!. Food yum - service with a smile - entertainment fabulous - if you haven't been yet you're missing out on a memorable evening! ****
Wonderful. I visited Elie's Tent tonight with two classmates, as one of them suggested he wanted to try "Middle Eastern food". The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, so it seemed like a nice place for a quiet weekday dinner.
We all decided to order the "Maza" banquet, as it seemed the best option to try as many things on the menu as possible. And boy were we glad we did! The banquet came with an array of dips and entrees, with lamb and chicken skewers as well as another meat and rice dish as mains. Lebanese bread was free-flowing. We had an enormous amount of food (half of the rice dish we had to take away)- all of which were absolutely delicious, flavoursome and thoroughly enjoyed by my friends and I. We all agreed that it was excellent amount of money for the amount of food you get. The only thing I will recommend is to eat slowly so you can enjoy everything! Next time I will surely take my time to enjoy everything at a slower pace :)
Another thing I must add, which was probably the highlight of the evening, was the warm greeting by the owners of the restaurant. There is nothing I love more than a family owned, family run restaurant serving good home-styled meals. The older gentleman especially reminded me of my late grandfather. Overall I would highly recommend Elie's for a casual, comforting meal of homely Lebanese food served by a hospitable family. All the best!
Authentic & delish. This place is delicious & authentic. It's a shame Western Australians dont embrace other cultures & small businesses offering real food & not just flashy highly polished wine bars. Never judge a venue by its decor-the little daggy or shabby place is usually the most authentic. Unfortunately perth is ruled by the dollar so it's not really fair to saying its expensive-all restaurants are here! We ate like kings & were full to the brim just eating a standard platter $24 -no sides or entree so not sure what everyone is complaining about! We will be back, yummo all the way! The lamb btw is so tasty & tender it's amazing & the falafel is delicious.
Dunno why this place is always mostly empty, the food is amazing. Ok it's a bit pricey for a weeknight dinner but the food is worth it.
10/10. Went here for the first time last night and will definitely be going back! Restaurant is fairly intimate and has a very comfortable feel (seats have cushions and the low tables if you prefer which is a nice touch).
Ordered the Chicken Rice, Special Chicken and Chilli Chicken and all were faultless (bf says possibly the best chilli sauce he's ever had). Portion sizes are generous and had no problem using the entertainment book vouchers. But the best part of this experience was probably the owners of this venue. They were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly and make you feel very welcome without being intrusive. I recommend this restaurant very highly and urge you to check it out for yourself :)
Delicious food served by beautiful people. Very very good value. Such a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
We decided to dine at Elie's Tent because we had an entertainment voucher and it was open on Easter Monday. We had 8 guests and got a mix of the meat and vegetarian banquets. We loved the atmosphere of the place, especially being offered the cushion chairs! Our waitress was awesome, very friendly and informative. The good was delicious! The banquet is huge and we couldn't finish it all...even though we tried. It was great to be offered takeaway at the end of the meal. We will definitely be back!!!
Elie's tent always leaves me feeling satisfied and happy. The food is delicious and good value, and the staff are really genuine and lovely. Will keep supporting this family business!
Great Food. Took a group of 10 there last night. Easiest way to organise dinner for the group is to go for the banquet. Much more food than we could all eat. All the food was great and the meats very tasty.
Pricing was good. $35 for the banquet was good value.
Good service, very fresh and tasty food, well priced. We had a lovely lunch of shared plates and will be back.
Definitely worth a visit!. We dined on Saturday 4/1/14. It was the first time my husband and I went to Elies Tent.
The food, service and ambience were to be commended. It was a fairly busy night but the wait staff seemed to handle it well and compliments to the chefs that cooked our meals, the meat in particular was exceptional. The bellydancer was also very talented and topped off our experience.
In saying this, it is disappointing to read the comment below I can only presume that they were the table next to us who seemed to be very nasty to the waitress and the chef who seemed to go over and above their required duty to try make their table happy.
Thank you all for a memorable night we will be back :)
Hit and Miss. I dined here with a few friend on a saturday. Was firstly slightly disappointed by the entertainment- i was expecting a few amazing belly dancers to make the atmosphere how you would imagine it to be at a Lebanese called Elie's tent! Instead it was a bit cheesy and awkward....
We all ordered different mains. I got the mixed plate which was expensive but okay. Some of my friends ordered other dishes and they were disappointed with theirs- slightly bland and boring really.
Food not terrible but won't be going back...
I dined here with a friend this evening for the first time having only ever eaten this type of food at The Prophet. To me the menu seemed frustrating and expensive considering u got some bread and taboullleh as accompaniements, how was that and a bit of meat supposed to fill u up? I was so wrong! I ordered the BBQ platter it was delicious. Plenty of meat with so much flavour, hummus, falafel was delicious n taboulleh. My friend had lamb shush something I dnt know but was also amazing. Worth the money n had a chat w the lovely lady owner. The staff were also very attentive. Enjoyed more than the prophet!
Great food!!. After being refused our table at Lebanese restaurant up the road because we were 10mins late, we headed down the street to Elie's & wow what a find. Without a booking on a Saturday night they accommodated us without issue. We ordered a meat meze for 2 & loved it, food came fast, was delicious, fresh & plentiful! Very good value. Restaurant decor is dated but dont be put off, toilets clean & service good, we will certainly be making a return visit & recommending to friends.
This place is amazing. No one comes here and I feel sad for the owner. She's a champ. This is the true type of Lebanese cuisine serving kebabs that are so good that you'd eat them even when you're sober.
Relaxed fun loads of food. Took the extended family (16) to ELIES for our sons birthday
Had the banquet, loads of food, i mean loads, huge kebabs etc
Entertained by dancer (with son in tow..) all making a fun night and full bellies
BYOG too.
Lovley staff very helpful and efficient.
Cheers
Its got nice food and customer service is friendly. Nice ambience & decoration inside the restaurant. A bit overpriced though. I recommend it
Good food, atmosphere could be improved with some background music rather then just thumping music when the belly dancer comes out! Service is lacking and needs a boost! Will be back for the food but not the service!
Dinner. The wiatress was just lovely and spent time chatting about Beiruit which she and her family were very proud of . Service and food were wonderful. We ate Mezze which was fresh, hot and authentic.Lots of dishes were Mama's home recipe. Ambiance was great and noise levels excellent. Would certainly return.
A great find. Service was exceptional. We hadn't been before and were given some great advice from staff on what to order and how much. Food was lovely, eggplant dip a highlight as well as chicken from the rotisserie. BYO a real bonus. Would definitely return.
The Grubs Good !. I've been to this place several times over the years and it never disappoints. We usually go for the maza platter, $35p/p and it includes the usual: dips, felafel, fetta, shish kebab etc. You get well fed at Elie's and looked after by the staff. I miss places like Elie's who are not afraid to feed their customers. I sometimes get sick of places who charge an arm and a leg for a dollop of sauce and a cut up olive with a sprinkle of parsley. Why do too many places concentrate on trying to impress with food wankery instead of feeding us, isn't this what we paid for, food. Although, the decor is looking a little drab, maybe a few new carpets wouldn't go astray and a lick of paint. This place does the job for a decent meal and a little entertainment (belly dancers).
RECOMMEND THIS PLACE A+++. Me and my family come to this restaurant when ever we get the chance to. now the food is fantastic definitely the best lebanese in perth very fresh, delicious, and affordable for what you get since we can never end up finishing our meal because there are such generous servings. the service is very friendly, the restaurant is run by a very nice family and their daughter usually serves and she is very funny. if you want an extra treat you must come on a friday and saturday night and watch the belly dancing its very enjoyable. =)
