My first time here at The Brown Spoon. The place is very cozy and aesthetically pleasing. The front seating area has nice lighting, good for picture taking. The back seating area seems a bit dull but very comfortable.
••• S’Mores Dip Set: It came smaller than I thought. However, it does fill you up. At the start, it looks as if there are too many crackers but, you definitely need to fill up. The marshmallows on top are yum. If you get to the bottom there is a chocolate layer which is just divine.
~~~ Must try: bingsu
Tried their strawberry & mango bingsu. They are both huge & yummy. They are always packed so lucky to get a spot there. Gotta try their other dessert next time.
Always a delight to go there. Unassuming like myself but dishes out desserts that are not overly sweet but nicely presented and absolutely moreish. I am very choosy when it comes to desserts as I don't have sweet tooth but usually my friends all love sweets. In this place everyone is satisfied. Besides the price IS NOT over the top. So it's gentle on my wallet, sugar and my teeth.
Came by for afternoon sweets before flying out of Perth.
They did have quite a few different options but we ended up trying the watermelon bingsu and the hotteok. We grabbed tables and menus but ordered at the counter.
The bingsu was amazing. Balls of watermelon covered in condensed milk over the shaved milk ice. they also had a watermelon syrup which you could drizzle over everything. The best part was the watermelon ice block on top which really tasted like watermelon. The ice block itself was a really nice dessert. The hotteok was a bit disappointing, thick and bready and the filling wasn't very sweet. It also took about 10 minutes longer to arrive at the table. I would just come here to the bingsu unless you were wanting to try something else.
We were given wooden spoons and paper cups to share the desserts.
Really nice, cozy little cafe with rustic setting and feel. Came here specifically for the honey toast and injeolmi bingsu, very tasty simple honey butter on bread that's crunchy on the outside and soft inside, yummy honey butter melt gives it amazing taste with the whipped cream with some almond flakes? Maybe caramel. Really enjoyed the bingsu as well although injeolmi is not really my thing, would love to try the watermelon bingsu next time we visit again.
One of my favourite cafes of all time. Staff members are excellent along with the food although a bit overpriced sometimes, however portions are quite generous. One of my favourite study spots.
I went there today with a friend and found this adorable place, nice and quiet, loved the dessert and my cup of tea was delicious, I like it when you have more choices of tea to choose from, apart from the 4 main ones that everyone sells. I really like that I can get a pot of tea instead of just one cup! Excellent and friendly staff!
Brown Spoon Cafe in Victoria Park provides a similar feel to the cafe's experienced in Korea - a warm, rustic interior decor feel was something note worthy. If you're visiting this place, you're going to want to try all their desserts as they all sound enticing. I shared a delicious Injeolmi toast with my friend, and it was beautifully balanced in sweetness and actually quite filling as it had a glutinous filling.
They are opened fairly late as well, and make an excellent trip to sweeten your night off. I would highly recommend anyone to drop by here.
Watermelon Bingsu is the bomb! Must try!!!
The toast with matcha ice cream is great when you eat it immediately. Otherwise, you will get a soggy toast!
The waffles was abit too sweet for me. (No photo)
It's bing-su long since I've had one of these shaved ice desserts 🍧! @BrownSpoon_AU doesn't just serve up ordinary bingsu, their creativity is through the roof!
I finally got my hands on one of these watermelon bingsu 🍉🍧 and couldn't be happier! It was fun to dig in and discover all different textures and flavours of watermelon. The shaved ice had a decent amount of syrup all over and we were given an additional jug of milk 🍶. Watermelon balls were refreshing against the sweetened shaved ice and that watermelon icecream on a stick was simply a milky way to our hearts! I got an extra scoop of matcha icecream 🌱 and its bitterness was a stark yet pleasant contrast to the overall sweetness. Guess you can say they were a matcha made in heaven!
Loved this cute lil place. Ambiance was great, as well as their drinks and desserts. Will definitely be coming back. We ordered Nutella honey brick toast with cream, New York cheesecake, and a pot of Japanese green tea and a pot of earl grey.
I'm not sure why this place is only getting 2.9 rating, it's definitely better than that. This is my third time here, always busy. Yes you may have to wait a bit for your order to come but for me that's fine. We ordered their hot sweet potato, misugaru and matcha drink and they were fantastic if you like those flavours! $5 each. And we also had their honey toast with honey butter and matcha almond ($10.80), so good! Don't expect too much from the service and you'll be fine. Will definitely come back.
not a bad place , i had come here a few times when it first opened but Zomato took ages to get Brown Spoon page on.
the thick toast was ok with a lot of butter (tasty but nothing to shout about) , the watermelon dessert was ok too but i could get the same watermelon popsicles from the store. The sweet potato cake was nice.
A nice ambient place to catch up with friends for a dessert and pet friendly too.
My friends and I decided to stop by here to try the desserts after seeing the pictures on Instagram. There was a bit of a hiccup with the order and it took a while for the dishes to arrive. Pretty desserts however taste was average.
Small cafe for dessert and coffee. The staffs are friendly and it’s cozy place for hangout with your friends or family. We tried their premium bingsu and it’s turn out really nice especially for summer.
Small but cozy hangout place along Victoria Park. Located right among many other dining place allow Brown Spoon Cafe to be a top destination for dessert / chill-out place after a meal.
BSC is famous for its bingsu and korean bread. I have tried a few different flavour from both range and they are decent. My favorite and recomendation would be the Injeolmi Bingsu. And make sure you add ice cream - it really makes a tremendous difference!
Staffs are polite and friendly. Oh and they have this huge bear in front. Don’t forget to take a selfie with him.
I'm a huge fan of Korean dessert and I really enjoy this place and the atmosphere, not everyone enjoys Korean dessert however if you do this is one of my favourite places
This cafe does make me feeling like i am in a cafe in Korea.
The atmosphere is nice and cosy. I had a latte which was great. I love dukes coffee so it was really good but i reckon they use bigger mugs than other cafe so the coffee was a bit weak for me. And the mango bingsu and Injeolmi bingsu were so delicious. I asked them if they use fresh mango and they said yes it was really fresh! Loved it because it wasnt too sweet. And the injeolmi bingsu, i am in love with. I went back twice for this and i could eat everyday! I tried injeolmi toast as well and it was dope too..
The korean staffs are really nice as well.
I am not a huge fan of korean dessert to start with but this place is a lot better than most of the other korean dessert places. For start, they have lunch menu which helps if you’re not really into sweets. We tried the ham, cheese and tomato bagel and bulgogi burger. The portion is rather small but they taste nice. The coffees are good especially the ice coffee and we have been coming back for coffees! Their dessert the pineapple and tiramisu shaved ice or bingsu was so pretty and refreshing at the same time, not too much and not too sweet to share. The soufflé waffle is also quite tasty and fruity, loving the fluffy waffles though. As the weather warms up, I can already see that this place will get visited more often.
Quirky little cafe. I came by because I saw their desserts on instagram. And it did not disappoint. The mango Bingsu is a great dessert. Nice and sweet served on shaved ice.
found this little gem walking in vic park. cute cafe (korean owned) with some korean desserts and a little breakfast menu. very nice interior, good seating, cute deco and true to a korean cafe theme (coming from someone who lived in korea). service was friendly. i got a bagel and my partner for the honey bread. super yum! and not to mention the pricing is more than reasonable! all up for both breakfasts and 2 coffees was less than $30. happy sunday.
What a happy little place this was. Maybe because everyone was there for desserts... could anything derail this eudamonic therapy? Obviously Food is very subjective but I feel overall the Asian influenced desserts but with very traditional European names like Tiramisu and Black Forrest and the list goes on. In the pictures attached there’s a matcha based dessert with ice shavings. Sorry I didn’t get the name but it was pleasant and fresh! They’re known for their beverages like one of my companions had sweet potato latte. I didn’t try it but sounded exotic. Ambience is very appropriate, staff very friendly and menu extensive.
We’ll be back there!
Food- 6 (need to try the rest!)
Hands down one of the most aesthetically pleasing cafes in Perth! Tried the green tea bingsu with red bean and mochi, which was really refreshing, but it would have been better if it was sweeter. The souffle pancakes were nice, but quite dense. Overall, this cafe is a lovely addition to Victoria Park, and I will definitely come back to try the other desserts.
I've been here a few times. I love their s'mores dip and the fact that you get unlimited crackers is superb ! The Bingsu is just so-so. The shaved ice just doesn't carry as much flavour as I want it to, despite all the creams etc that it comes with. The mango bingsu was awful as the mango was frozen type (tastes like Coles brand) and was not yummy. The cookies and cream cheesecake was scrumptious, and I'm very keen to try the rest of their cake selections.
Just had the watermelon bingsu. Quite nice. The place seems to have changed since few years back. Most likely new management or owner. I notice bingsu also slightly different. Pretty decent. Nice vibe too for hang out. The 2nd time in a week. Ordered their lattes. Black sesame and sweet potato latte. Loved both of them! Also ordered the spores dip set.
This is the first time we went there with friends. Boy their burnt cheesecake is too good. Cappuccino is very good. Brought two other cake slices for kids: cheesecake and chestnut cake. They loved it. Kudos!
The staff are lovely and the food is delicious. We got the tuna melt bagel, the brekky bagel, and then we tried to finish a strawberry and Oreo bingsu but it was way too big after all that bagel! Everything is delicious and well presented. I love it here.
We've been ordering to take away from here for a little while now, and that's awesome too.
A really very busy korean dessert cafe. Long queues for tables. Cakes (earl grey & strawberry), watermelon binsu and grape fruit ice ades were just excellent to end the night!
The desserts here are incredible, we loved the mango bingsu and the matcha pudding. They were insanely busy but kept everything moving and provided good service. Will be back before mangos go out of season!
Absolutely fantastic Korean cafe with bingsu and unique cakes.
Had the strawberry and Oreo Bingsu enough for 4 to share. Matcha strawberry cake was also a delight. Very nice atmosphere for a get together and a chat, has got both indoors and outdoors seating. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will be back.
We are Matcha lover and this place is making amazing delicious dessert. 🍵
Very recommended everyone to try.
Delicious Crawffles and ice cream.. bought their strawberry and honeydew Mascarpone cake and it was delicious.
