Review Saigon Restaurant - Wagga Wagga

Scott Redmond
I've been enjoying this food for over 20 years. I absolutely love it. And even though we no longer live in Wagga it is always the first nights dinner when we visit. There is nothing even close on the Central Coast where we now live so it is something we look forward to when we return to Wagga. That and visiting family. The service is second to none. For example, they remember our names even though it can be months between visits.

We ordered beef pho and mixed combination rice vermicelli. Waitress did not know what was in the dish when questioned, she also did not offer to ask other staff but just said she wasn’t sure. When asking if there are nuts, she was clueless as well. This was disappointing. Food was alright, a bit pricey at $18 each dish.

The taste was like the northern areas of VN, doesnt match the name of the restaurant. A bit pricy. However, food was good!

A gem in the rough. We enjoyed our dinner a lot. Huge menu available and skilled chefs. We loved the salt and pepper king prawns, exceeded our expectations. Pho soup was great and the spring rolls. Recommended if you enjoy Vietnamese food in the Australian Outback! :-)

From the other reviews, it really seems like a 50-50 on food quality depending on what day you go there. I’ll start by saying that the staff was friendly. The food however was pretty bland and that’s saying something coming from me. The noodles tasted like plain spaghetti straight out of unsalted water and the sauce did taste like it was pre-made. For a cheap meal, no worries but for the price that they charged us ($20 with an extra $2 for the noddles to be soft instead of crispy!), it’ll have to be a hard pass. The final bill was wrong (almost paid an extra $2 on the total) but fair enough anyone can make mistakes. However I paid by card and saw no signs and was not told I’d get charged a fee for not paying cash. I probably won’t be giving it a second try.

Yea delicious, not super authentic and a bit pricey but decent overall.

Worst Chinese food I've ever had, combination chow mein, meat/chicken so tough I couldn't eat it, sauce tasted like it came straight from a bottle, was disgusting. Fried rice very gluggy & only few peas in it, no flavour. Very expensive too. Would not go back.
