Review Cafe Patina - Wahroonga

Shane Liu
An amazing cafe for brunch tucked away in the quiet streets of Wahroonga, right next to Wahroonga Park. We had the banana bread French toast and the coconut chia bircher muesli. The banana bread was so delicious, not overly sweet and so fluffy, the caramelised banana went perfectly with the bread as did the vanilla ice cream. The muesli was also very good, the coconut yoghurt and toasted hemp seeds were a great combination. We also had a banana and mango smoothie which were both amazing as well. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a nice brunch spot surrounded by greenery.

Gorgeous little cafe, food portion was perfect, everything worked well together. Partner asked for a surprise drink with whisky, and it did not disappoint, probably a new favorite. Staff is very welcoming and friendly, my dog loved the attention and didn't want to leave, which is a first for her in a long time. We will definitely be back.

Have been here a few times. The food and coffee quality is good but value for money not so much. Come here if you are willing to pay $30 for fish and chips with a little salad. If you are looking for good value for money I'd recommend heading to one of the cafes on the other side of the train station instead, the quality is just as high but you'll pay half what you do here.

We loved everything about this gem when four of us had dinner on Easter Saturday evening. The food was excellent and good value. The service was friendly and efficient. We're glad we found Cafe Patina. Even the parking right outside the door couldn't have been arranged better.

Fantastic food! Service was professional with a warm friendly delivery. We sat outside on a warm day and the umbrellas kept us comfortable. All the guests enjoyed their meals entirely! Highly recommended

Great food as you can see. Friendly staff and yes sometimes there's a small wait but that's the price you pay to go to a very busy Cafe and get top notch food. Good things take time init. Table of 10 and our food came out in a perfectly reasonable time.

Yuk! We paid $60 for lunch. The salad was average with raw zucchini as the main piece …. Is that a thing? Uncooked zucchini? The burger…. Can you go wrong with a burger? Yes, yes you can. The meat patty was disgusting, onion relish - rank. Then when I asked for tomato sauce to liven up the fries that were cooked in old oil, they bought out tomato sauce that tasted like canned spaghetti. Coffee good, atmosphere ok. Would not recommend at all 👎

What a wonderful location for brunch! Sitting in the Winter sunshine with a warm blanket across my lap. I had the double bacon fried egg burger on a delicious milk bun - a top notch bacon and egg roll with the most delicious, tangy tomato relish! My son enjoyed the sour cherry raisin toast as well. It’s the small twists on normal fare that make the food here so special. Onto the all important coffee - they make a properly strong and flavourful brew here, best I’ve found in the area and very possibly the best anywhere. Even better, they know how to serve a babycino (with a scrummy homemade marshmallow to boot!) so I get to enjoy the coffee all to myself. Such a warm, welcoming cafe, fabulously child friendly, wonderful food, amazingly professional and lovely staff. A favourite place for any meal of the day.

Still a regular customer and I still love it. We go every week and the coffee is fantastic. Love the team there, it has a great feel to it. Egg and bacon burger is a particular favourite!! Bacon was so nice and crispy I go to Cafe Patina at least once a week with my 9mth old and mothers group. Hilary and her staff are incredible at making sure we have enough high chairs and room. They are lovely to us and delight in our kids every week. Kids inevitably make mess and the staff are completely understanding of this. Highly recommend.

Beautiful food and lovely atmosphere, Cafe Patina is perfect for a morning coffee and breakfast in the sunshine by Wahroonga park. I love their philosophy for high quality, nutritious whole foods, and local produce, and it's wonderful to see a cafe keeping it real with food. There are countless food and beverage options for gluten and dairy free lovers like myself. Cafe Patina also hosts some seriously wonderful events and you'll be hard-pressed to find a gem like it. Highly recommended!

Great breakfast, I had the Double bacon fried egg burger and it was a stand out. Reasonably priced and the bacon is crispy just the way I like it. Great coffee too, will be returning.

Good food. Nice ambience but to be charged $1 for butter is unacceptable i think. It's not the cost, it's the principle! Considering the dish was pumpkin soup and toast, not a big ask really! Our bill was $87.00 was it really neccessary to charge the $1.00? #dissapointing

We had a beautiful Mothers Day lunch at Cafe Patina. The salt and pepper squid entree was delicious, the braised beef cheek melt in the mouth, and the panna cotta was amazing. Highly recommended!

Love love love this cafe! Have visited on many occasions (weekly) with mothers group and the owner Hilary and her staff are always so accomodating, particularly with prams/highchairs/unexpected numbers and dietary requests. Delicious food, yummy coffee and a comfortable, warm and inviting atmosphere. Recommended on many occasions to family and friends and will continue to do so. If you haven't been, I would suggest you go.. you won't regret it!

We come here all the time and they always go above and beyond to accommodate our needs, whether it be helping with high chairs, unexpected large groups or dietary requirements. The food and coffee are delicious and the staff are always wonderful.

Visited Cafe Patina on Tuesday for lunch with 3 other girlfriends. The food was satisfyingly lovely. The staff were very attentive to our needs & allowed us to have a whale of a time together. Thank you Hilary & staff we will return 👍🏻🤓

I was really disappointed with the takeaway options for lunch. Being opposite the park I would have expected there to be at least a few sandwich or other takeaway friendly options. I ended up ordering the haloumi salad for $16 which was literally two slices of haloumi, a handful of spinach, half a beetroot and two baby carrots. It was delicious but way over priced for the serving size. I would definitely recommend exploring what takeaway options can be made available to serve your park going clientele.

Okay service, waitress didn't know much about the menu. Iced coffee orders were all mixed up and someone with a lactose intolerance, who is also breast feeding, was given a full cream full caffeinated coffee. Iced coffees themselves were tasteless and too icy.

We had a very nice Lunch here but found it was very cold inside.
