This place has certainly gained a very strong reputation in the burger market for Sydney, even though it’s in the burbs in Wahroonga. This means they’re doing a lot of things right and people are noticing it. We’d been meaning to visit for ages having seen tasty pictures of their offerings.
Best burger, fries, Mac ive ever had...phenomenal
If you haven’t been here then seriously you are missing out.
Been here several times and have never ever been disappointed. They use high quality ingredients, do not skimp on serving sizes, and are always friendly.
On this occasion I got the special burger titled ‘Death by Canadian’.
This was my unicorn and first ever 5/5 burger.
Every element was sensational, from the beef, to the poutine, to the maple bacon jam, to the cheddar mayo, to the grilled cheese curd slab.
Can’t wait till dine in re-opens, as much as I like takeaway you can’t beat the dine in experience.

This was the pinkest burger patty that I’ve seen for ages and I liked it, even if it was a little chewy. Didn’t seem as big as in the promo photos but still a good size for the price. The rest of the burger was ok, special sauce drowned out by the ketchup and mustard. The hand cut chips were cooked pretty well and only an extra $3. It’s set up for takeaway, with a few stools inside and some tables on the footpath but you’ll have to listen for your order to be called and get it in a takeaway box.

I have traveled to 108 countries and only once in my travels have I had a unicorn, the famous Emmy Burger, over a decade later I can add this.
Before visiting the Hound I asked if this needed bacon, I was advised that it doesn't improve the burger but since I more than likely will have this once, just get it. I admit the bacon didn't improve the burger, didn't make it worse too, just the other ingredients especially that patty was so superior.
That patty was from another universe, so rich, so juicy, every bite the patty fell into your mouth and melted, yet the remainder stayed firm! I had that patty taste in my mouth for an hour afterwards, its so strong yet so flavoursome and rewarding. The pink onions were soft yet so delicious, nicely nestled above the cheese. Love cheese and having it 3 times just makes it that much better, yet as cheesy as this was, the patty shone above, it seemed excessive at first but it was the perfect balance. Topped off with some legendary Hounds sauce. Have to love the Urbun buns here, this is by far their best.
This is my first and only unicorn in Australia, if you have it, you will love it, if you don't, you will forever regret it..
We had the following for lunch today:
1. Kids burger
2. Kids hot dog
3. Old Smokey
4. This little piggy
5. Med chip with chicken salt & aioli
The former 2 were what’s typical for kids menu, basically buns, protein and a dollop of sauce.
Old Smokey was extremely tasty with 2 strips of bacon- as if x marks the spot.
This lil piggy 🐷 was equally as delicious with strands of pulled pork!
The medium sized chips were crispy and crunch with generous helping of aioli.
I can see why the locals (and those outside the suburb) give it a 4⭐️. Everything is as expected- its be a 5⭐️ if not for the price. But I suppose you get what you paid for so no complains from me.
Excellent burgers especially the Smokey one! It’s a beauty!! The buns are better than anywhere. These are burgers you come back for again. I’d suggest a grilled chicken without all the cheese and spice. Biggest issue is the price. It can only be a treat when a burger is $17.
Wow what a burger! My mate has been pushing me to come here forever and boy was it worth it!
I ordered the classic cheeseburger with bacon and I reckon it is the best burger I’ve had in Sydney ( comparable to an in n out burger), just really well portioned and put together. I had the chicken wings aswell and they were also amazing.
This place is up there amongst the best burger joints in Sydney, will definitely be back.
One of the best burger I’ve ever had: juicy patties, variety of buns, fresh ingredients and seriously delicious! The sides are also perfect and the menu has got lots of options.
This burger was created as a challenge by one of Australia’s leading competitive eater and burger hounds were nice enough to let me try it out myself. Quality ingredients, beef is juicy, maple bacon jam is killa!
Go and try the normal Canuck yourself. You won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to get back to try some more burgers from their epic menu!

Not quite as well known as some of its contemporaries: burg by josh BA BL five points bare grill, the location probably has something to do with it. Pacific hwy trickles like wet cement esp around pymble turra chatty so it is quite a drive fm the city. Best to hop on a train as hounds is just oppo the station.
Double action, double patty, trips cheese, bacon onion pickles mustard hounds sauce 4/5, devour this on an empty tank, walk it off in the nearby park or get on some ‘double action’ later on, just get this n be happy you love meat. $20 worth of bliss.
The canuck canadian, beef patty, chips w cheese curds, gravy, maple bacon jam, cheddar aioli 3.75/5, a little more messy to eat, a little more textural and sweeter than the double action.
The best burgers in Sydney! They take the simple burger to the next level with well thought out combinations of flavours. Always keeping it interesting with their specials!
This is one of those hidden places you see on TV. Legitimately incredible chicken. Marinated in butter milk and southern fried. I’m 37 and have never eaten a breast of a foul as moist as this. I love this place. Will drive 30 minutes to come back.

I've been here many times, and each time an absolute wonderful piece of culinary delight had been served. Their meat is a tender 80/20 blend Pattie, hand pressed, and with an amazing and unique flavour (apparently due to a seasoning known as unicorn tears). Their portions are great, and all the ingredients are super fresh. Pictured were the Blame Canada (w/ maple bacon, chips, Poutine and beef), the Sweet Baby Cheesus (with a Mac and cheese Pattie, 3 other kinds of cheese, aioli Mayo and beef), a chilli con carne loaded fries, and a Double Action (personal fav, double bacon, double cheese, double meat, pickles, special sauce...) - And its all to die for. The best burgers I've ever eaten, around the world - consistently. Do yourselves a favour and get in! The store is small, on the corner, with limited seating and only a bar with stools inside - so if it's busy, just bust a move and smash that burger in the car or at the park down the street. Also - make sure you try a milkshake because I'll be damned if they're not also some of the best things you'll ever have - highly recommend a peanut butter / Nutella / hazelnut combo, but vanilla malt will go down just fine!
Burgers are big, juicy, and top rate! Macaroni cheese is also excellent, but they need to ease up on the dry fried onions! Cheeseburger spring rolls are a pleasant side, and their shakes are indulgent and a break in themselves.
Great service and food. Wish there was more seating available. Burgers and milkshakes are AMAZING. Veggie burger with the brie cheese is the best burger I've ever had.
The vegetarian burger out here is mind blowing, especially with the crispy fried ring of Brie cheese, it takes the burger to the next level. They have a good seating area outdoors and is a great option for lunch.
Super friendly guy took our orders at the counter. He seemed really enthusiastic about burgers. Good sign for a burger place. The prices are a little more than other locations but the size of the burger definitely justifies the extra cost. We ordered the milk bar and the bacon double with a side of fries to share (chose rock salt option). I had the milk bar. All the expected flavours given the ingredient list. It was a little too big for me in that I couldn't get a proper bite of the whole burger and it quickly became messy and fell apart. My partner was better able to keep his double patty burger intact. Both agree it's the traditional flavours done well. The chips were not crunchy but still very enjoyable as it was seasoned well. The bacon in the burgers were super crispy. I love my bacon cooked that way but I know others don't.

A huge plus was the Gluten Free buns that are available, which allowed my partner to have a real burger experience for the first time in ages.
The hand cut chips are done well and give the hit of nostalgia also.
I'll be back as soon as I can for another burger hit.
Best burger in the North! Located on busy street on wahroonga near the roundabout near train station. Wide variety of chicken, beef burger etc. We ordered Snap, Crackle, Pow! And Seoulful both very delicious and chicken are juicy and flavorsome! With the size and great quality of burger certainly worth the value! If u are craving for yummy and unique burger, you should come and give it a go! You wont be disappointed! 👍🏼😋🍔🍟
May I Introduce The Snap Crackle Pow!! This has to be one of the best burgers I've ever had, fried chicken breast with rice bubbles, lettuce, red onions with a chipotle mayo, I've been here twice, definitely not disappointed
One of my favourite burger destinations. Never disappointed. Burgers of substance, especially in a double. Must attend, must experience, must return.
New pulled pork special ❤️. One thing that is certain about Burger Hounds burgers is that they are massive and never skimpy on the quantity and the quality is exceptional.
Burger Hounds is awesome! I've been 3 times in the last month. The 'normal burger' and hand cut chips are both very yummy. If you're feeling bougie, the parmesan and truffle chips are also delicious. Special mention on the buffalo chicken ribs - so good! Most recently I tried the buffalo ranch chicken burger, which was tangy/spicy with plenty of pickles. Very generous servings here and always packed with flavour.
