I've stopped in at Laneway a handful of times now, and the Grilled Chicken Salad is always outstanding! Pretty good size for the money, and absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly and responsive, and it's a nice quiet place to escape on a lunch break.

I'm a big fan of Evolve (name changed from The Laneway Espresso, about 5 months ago with new owners). Staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a great tasting / non long-life tasting almond milk to add to their beautiful espresso coffee... unlike most other cafes. The all day breakfast menu is divine! The breakfast bowl for example...which includes many items, some I can remember...2 eggs, roast cauliflower, golden sweet potato, kale, onion salsa, garlic beetroot, dukkah, tahini yoghurt (can be swapped for hummus if need dfo), currants. Flavors are delicious and yummy, whilst still being a energising healthy meal. I look forward to coming back!! Thank you!

Coffee: Tulip Shi Single Origin Passion: 8/10 Crema: 7/10 I had heard that there was a cafe in Wahroonga using single origin coffee but could never find it. It was easy enough to find Danes, Morgan's, AllPress and even Campos, but this single origin one had eluded me...until today. With just a bit of time to kill on a Sunday afternoon, I figured I had time for a coffee but was worried that most of the cafes would be shut (by 3pm). And yet when I arrived in Wahroonga, I had the pick of 4 or 5 cafes that were still open. Not excited by the generic coffees available in the other cafes, my eyes spied "single origin" on one of the coffee bags in the Laneway Espresso and my decision was made. Starting off with an espresso, I was pleasantly surprised by the complexity in the coffee. Having asked the barista to add a dash of hot water first really opened up the espresso and made it much smoother and less aggressive. As a single origin coffee I was not totally sure where it was from, and the variety of flavours in the coffee made it a little confusing, but still delicious. Then when I asked for a mac (with only a little milk of course) I was not as happy. The flavours were very similar to the espresso but it had too much milk for my liking. While still better than the average coffee, and likely the best coffee in Wahroonga, this is a great option if you are in the area. N.B. No public WiFi available There is #powerwhoring available on the table closest to the toilets.
