Really good pub food. Nice atmosphere and a good menu. Fish tacos were great, nice wine and good meat selection too. Service was polite and quick, would recommend.
I am consistently disappointed with the lack of flavour of these burgers. To the point I'll likely never have another. Other meals have always been fine.

The Blue Gum Hotel at Hornsby offers high end meals at in a Bistro setting.
With options such as burgers, pizzas and steaks, their menu and setting seem very family friendly.
We decided to go with the Garlic Prawns and Squid and Garlic Pizza for entrees. The prawns were incredibly delicious. With bursts of flavour provided by the sauce in which it was plated, then topped with lime, I felt that this could be a main meal within itself. The Garlic Pizza was also very delicious and was very easy to eat, meaning that majority of the pizza was gone before I had realised.
For mains we ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and one of the Steak options. I very much enjoyed the Schnitzel, it was very filling but I didn't want to leave any on the plate because it tasted that good! It was served with chips, coleslaw and aioli. The sides perfectly paired with the herb encrusted schnitzel.
I highly recommend the Blue Gum Hotel for their quality of food and high levels of service. The only recommendation I could make for the Bistro itself is to have trays to carry the food as I had to make multiple trips so I didn't drop anything. I will definitely be back to try more of what this place has to offer.
There burgers are soooooo good same with there fish !
There chips are beyond words they the best chips ever!!!!
The chips are soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and I think they have sweet paprika on them !!!

When im feining for a fat juicy burger thats local to where i live, i come here and order the bgh burger without bacon. On a brioche bun.
This burger made me fall in love with burgers. They have a great lean beef patty. Which i love. Theres nothing more dissapointing then getting fatty clumps in your patty. The sauces are well combined with mustard and you add your own sauces at the sauce table. I add bbq sauce. Prices are over the top though for a pub in waitara.
Their chips are great aswell.
I these guys points for over priced food. Esepcially for the demographic. Youl be paying minimum $18 for a burger.
But the burgers are tasty and you wont leave unsatisfied

Our group enjoyed the scotch fillet, eye fillet, pork belly , chicken breast , crumbed chicken and pizza doubling up on a few dished everyone enjoyed
Garlic bread was a hit as well
A negative , taking away plates from those just as they finished while others still eating
It's a no no in my books and there were lots of free tables around so it was not like they were trying to turn tables
Overall staff exceptionally friendly
Prices were high for pub food but than again quality was well above pub food
Would have got top marks if not for clearing tables while people eating
Fantastic place. Great food, perfect steaks, pork belly etc... and good sized portions. Doesn't look like attractive from pub side, but restaurant side is pleasant with big open fireplace etc..
Place is quite noisy .. like almost every place in Oz, if not fine dining. Buzzers.. pay and pick up you food. If table service would have 4.5 as rating.
The crowd is there for a reason. Have been up to the "bluey" a few times over the past 4-6weeks(weekends and week nights)
The food is always top notch and on the weekend I don't know how the chefs manage to punch out so much food and keep the quality of food they do.
My friends say it's too "pricey" but I've not had a meal I wasn't pleased with!
Also plenty of new fancy craft beers which is nice.

Always thought it was just a normal pub, with the usual steak specials. Looked at the menu, I was like wow! quite a nice menu, different my the usual steak/snitzel etc.
Pretty good!. Pretty good and simple pub food at a decent price! The pizzas rasted really good (though a bit too salty) and the beer batter chips were amazing!
Best Family Dining. Great food, affordable and perfect for large groups. My family is a regular here and the Blue Gum has never disapointed! Highly recommend!
This is a brilliant place - excellent food (the lamb pie in particular), good professional service, and good atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Good quality food, steaks and burgers are very tasty. Mars bar calzone is a must have for dessert but is very rich so best to share.
Quilting at the Blue Gum.. We are group of SCQuilters - (Southern Cross Quilters) who come from all over Sydney and as far afield as the Blue Mountains to the west, Wollongong to the south, Newcastle to the north, sometimes Interstate and sometimes Overseas. We gather at the Blue Gum once each month, spending up to 5 hours sewing, chatting and displaying our Quilts. We drink soft drinks and coffee's and we enjoy incredible lunches, especially the 'Specials', There is nothing on the Menu we haven't tried and loved and would recommend to anyone.
The Menu and the prices are excellent, the Service top notch and the friendly atmosphere brings us back year after year. Thank you Blue Gum, you are the best!

Memorable Experience!. Amazing food, here with a group 10 all very impressed by the food, inparticular the steak menu is huge and tasteful, the homemade beef pie is unreal and the grilled fish was cooked perfectly!! Talked to the head chef with my comments and was more than happy to give up some of his time to talk with me about his food creations, signs of a truely amazing chef! LEGEND
Good food, good atmosphere. Very family friendly. Close to the station for those big nights out and decently priced drinks.
Beautiful Blue Gum. Was a wonderful place to dine and had delicious foods and desserts like magnificent steaks and mars bar calzone which was chocolate, rich and yummy!
Only had drinks here so far bur great atmosphere & menu looks tasty... Can't wait to try all they have to offer!

Great Food at affordable prices. Amazing beer on tap! Great customer service and staff. The rooms are very minimal but had everything we needed as a family! Will definitely be back when we come back to Sydney
If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, the Blue Gum Hotel does an amazing job of catering for a range of dietary requirements. Their Head Chef Damien not only has a great menu on offer, but also has a genuine appreciation for and understanding of food allergies and intolerances. He has always been more than happy to accommodate for our daughter’s requirements and it takes the stress out of dining out for us. Fantastic food and service… our favourite local.
I went with my friends yesterday and we had lovely time. They turned on IPL Cricket for us. We enjoyed watching it and all the staff members and service was 10/10. I will surely go here again soon with friends.
