Party of five dinner and a few drinks. Food Was typical pub fare of great quality. All meals came out hot and together. Something a lot of places don’t do these days. We had a child with us as well and they were very accommodating. Would recommend if you’re looking simple tasty home style pub food of great quality. Great service friendly staff. Thank you for a great experience.

We recently had our wedding party at the vine hotel. The vibe and atmosphere was so relaxed, fun & stress free. Jimmy, Vikki & crew were so fabulous to work with and they made our party dreams come true! Nothing was too much trouble, everything was handled with love and care, the venue was spacious, neat and such a good vibe! The Vine also welcomes pets (such a yes!) and have a great out door deck area and massive beer garden for them to run around in. Other than hosting the best party ever, we love to come here for drinks & dinner or a cheeky Sunday lunch. In summer, we enjoy the deck & live music and shows that they host. In winter you’ll find us inside next to the open fire with a local red in hand. It’s our favourite local in North Wangaratta, you’ve gotta try it!

Love the old world charm! Almost as good as being in a pub in the English countryside. Food great but as someone who actually likes vegetables and salad, would have preferred more of these.

There are not many places in Australia where you can enjoy lunch in a 160 year old pub, but the Vine Hotel in North Wangaratta is one of those rare places. Well worth the short diversion off the highway, the ambience and history of this classic hotel must be experienced to be believed. True to the period, it is like stepping back in time. The atmosphere was complemented by a very enjoyable meal. The "entree" potato wedges would be enough to satisfy 4 people as an appetizer and came with a very generous serve of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. The chicken schnitty was succulent with a generous serving of fresh salad and chips cooked to perfection. While you're there, make sure you treat yourself to a glass of Kolche, a locally brewed ale. Be sure to visit this gem that gives a nod to a bygone era and the people who lived it. The Vine Hotel will not disappoint.

What a wonderfol old pub. Another one of those gems that are full of memorabilia. Unlike some of the outback ones that we have been to with dust and cobwebs, The Vine Hotel keep their trinkets shiny and clean. Being one of the first warm sunny days that we have had in a while, we took full advantage and sat outside on the big verandah. Next door there was a gun club and they were on a shooting rampage!! lol. The lovely lady serving couldn't have done a better job. And our food was devine. The cook is a Sri Lankian so obviously hubby ordered a curry that was amazing! I had the lamb cutlets. It's not often you get lamb cutlets for $20. Bargain! Not only that, but the salad was real good too. Not just the normal pub greens with a bit of vinegar sloshed over. I was given 2 salads, 1 being a noodle salad. So nice and refreshing. 5 Stars!!
