Instant favorite! My wife and I both think the Malt Shed is worth 10 stars! We visited on a Friday night for dinner and were greeted by friendly, obliging bar and wait staff. Promptly seated with a couple of superb dark ales from the comprehensive range of house brewed beers and after a short perusal of the menu we decided to try some of the black onyx beef to go with the beautifully rich dark ales. After a starter of beautifully prepared honey soy chicken wings my wife had the 300 gram rump and I had the beef short ribs. Now, I could bang on all day about how good the food was but to put it in perspective I asked my wife "how's the steak?" To which she replied "I haven't had a steak this good since our wedding!!" That was 5 years ago!!! Personally I'm a huge fan of slow cooked / smoked meats and these beef shorties were honestly the best I've had! We were lucky enough to have a convo with the chef and he informed me the ribs were cooked by his 3rd year apprentice in his own smoker! That kind of initiative by young enthusiastic staff strikes a massive chord with me. Chef also went above and beyond by putting his after work pint on hold and preparing a dessert for us after the kitchen had closed. The tasting paddle with a choice of 6 malt shed brews was very reasonably priced and offered a wonderful variety. All in all, a wonderful experience and well with every penny! 11 out of ten!!!

Friendly staff did well to handle a massive influx of people , food was tasty and tender.

Great music festival we happen on. Excellent range of boutique brewery beers. A milk stout and a citrus lager were both tasty. Pulled pork nachos and crispy crunchy waffle chips hit the spot. The Malt Shed Rocks.
