Not the best korean chicken in melbourne, but they were pretty good. Service was pretty fast, beer was very refreshing with those chucks.. will definitely back and have some more.
Sorry for the crap photo...but this is absolutely the best speechless chicken burger I've ever had. The double chicken katsu patties was a minor challenge to my jaw but in the end, it was perfect. The fries was super awesome but THE BURGER...OMG...THE BURGER!!!!
Can't believe they name this OMG level awesome burger as "Deli Burger". Really do no justice to it. It' huge. Best value money on the menu. I've reflected my suggestion to change the name to "Godzilla Burger" or "The Double G Jawbreaker". What do u think can be a good name?
Stopped by here for a quick dinner, delicious chicken as always, cooked perfectly and paired with a potato heaven that was quick to be served. Service was diligent, nothing to be unhappy about.
I always love gami chicken, and i got myself 20 wings after a 20% discount from eatclub. A reqlly big place and the service was spot on.
Didn't take too lomg to serve up the wings and they were very attentive too. Best thing about this was the fact that the chicken wings were dipped in the spicy sauce and not just drizzled like some other gami outlets.

Best fried chicken ever, I did go with a large group and we ordered a fair bit., the staff however did a fantastic job of taking our orders getting the food and drinks out to us. It was all so good. Large or small groups, if you want chicken this is the places to go. Best of all the chicken isn't greasy ots so nice to eat
After reading mixed reviews I couldnt resist had wings, Kimchi pancakes and chips.
I ordered spicy wings and plain usually nothings ever spicy enough but these were nice and hot got my eyes water.
Chips were great crunchy and pan cake was awsome.
Staff were friendly and meals came very fast they forgot cutlery and serviets at the start.

Beautiful ambience and comfortable, suitable even for little children. The boneless chicken were the bomb! We loved the sweet chilli and soy garlic flavours. Pancake was lovely too. Bulgogi beef is average but I guess not expected

So I went there last night after our domestic game. It was an intense game, it was a draw and I didn't airball. Shot about 30% fg whilst my teammate air balled after trash talking me.Thats besides the point, the point is Black ops 4 came out last night and I successfully used Afterpay. Mate my phone was on 2% battery and this was a long process for paying for a game. Pay everything with Afterpay, legit it helps trust me. The boiz ordered some of dat deep fried boneless chicken with some coleslaw and kimchi pancakes whilst I came in late and ordered myself that chicken burger.Now holy sock puppet in a sausage factory, that burger was DELICIOUS! I really really enjoyed it and the staff there were very generous and kind towards us when it came to service and portion size. They picked up that I really wanted some coleslaw because I have such a loud and obnoxious voice so the waiter came over with a small plate of coleslaw and told me "heard you wanted some".I will never forget that moment, what a man :)Now because I have 18 years of AFL experience and I have an exercise science degree, I said to myself: You know what, to lose weight, lets eat 3000 calories a day rather than 2500 (which is the average amount of calories a day.So I had some of the scrum didly-yumptious fried chicken that my boiz left behind and wow that was so amazing! That sweet chilli sauce with the chicken is just as good as big boy Tyson's block last night.Overall very nice experience for 9:15pm service, I give credit to the staff for being attentive at that time of night. The wonderful world of Gami. Fried chicken and beer are the best combinations with a match made in heaven. We had a few shared plates amongst a big group of us the boneless chicken was to die for along with their flavoursome dipping sauces. I didn't understand what the Gami hype was all about and now I know. Simply amazing.
The chicken Parmigiana and chicken wings were both delicious and crunchy! Little bit of a wait considering we came at a quiet/empty time but the food was worth it!

One of the ever growing list of korean fried chicken joints in Melbourne. The boneless chicken here is pretty good here, the bone version not so much. And you gotta eat the boneless chicken with a mix of the honey mustard and spicy sauce. The combination gives you smooth sweet tangy spicy sauce. As bruce would've said it "DELICIOUS".
oh my god the corn cheese is out of this world!! Their chips would have to be one of my favourites, really crunchy and heaps of flavour!
Their chicken is delicious but wish I had of known just how hot the spicy one was going to be!! 🌶🌶🌶

I was very impressed with Gami having heard about it often from friends. The sauces were flavorsome and the Potato Mash was a clear standout. Gami to me is the type of place to go to before an event or for a light meal as some might struggle with having exclusively fried and almost fast food style of cooking, however I think the fairest comparison to Gami is places like KFC and Red Rooster and Gami is a clear winner as far as the quality and flavour of the chicken. I will be returning in the future :)

Food: ok. The chicken was crispy enough but I prefer potato starch not a flour batter. Dumplings appeared handmade and needed more meat. Jap Chae undersealed but tasted nice.

Love the restaurant! Very nice food and atmosphere. Especially appreciate the service of the manager - Damien, super friendly and polite service! Reasonable price and we ordered a table of food!
First time and really loved it. Greeted by lovely staff that explained the menu. What I really loved about our waitress was she acknowledged that it was our first visit and she was very helpful and enthusiastic. Food arrived quick (even though it was busy) and it was delicious! The soy garlic dipping sauce was my favourite and corn cheese was amazing! The chicken was perfect! We couldn’t finish all our food.
Was pleasantly surprised given the poor ratings on here, and think they're overly harsh. This place is decent. Make sure you order the boneless chicken with the sauces (soy garlic and sweet chilli are best). Korean fried chicken is supposed to be drenched in sauce so don't bother with the original (this is probably the comments saying the flavour is dry and bland).
Venue is large and staff are friendly. The chicken is sometimes a little chewy and not tender. The chips are pretty boss though!! May try again one day
My first try of Gami was 8 wings with two flavor (half garlic soy sauce and half sweet chili). The taste was great. I like the coating sauce pretty badly. The sweet & the aroma of both sauce that keeps me craving for it again & again. Then next time, I went with a friend. We ordered whole chicken with 2 same flavor as I previously ordered.
It still tastes good, but I find it too sickening when having a big portion of it. And some part of the chicken are too dry. I would say that the wing is definitely taste better just that it can be too fattening.
Dinner for 2. Food was OK..... Most of it lacked seasoning. We ordered the fried chicken with spicy sauce, seafood and spring onion pancake, gami chips, and potato heaven. The potato heaven was the best out of all our choices tonight. Service was fantastic - very attentive and friendly!

Definitely will be coming back!!! Yesterday my friend and I came to visit as we have heard such good things about it. We got potato heaven which was amazing and then boneless chicken flavoured which was original and sweet chilli. Wasn't a big fan of original but we had soy garlic sauce which tasted good but the sweet chilli chicken that was something incredible! Cannot recommend enough!
Great service and floor staff always upbeat and accomodating. Love the cheesy corn and prefer the Spicy Whole chicken more than the Spicy Boneless chicken as the flavours seemed to combine better when there's bone (personal preference for marinade more than on the side too). Tteokbokki is yummy too although slightly too spicy for me. All in all, always an enjoyable experience here.

Been here a few times and every time have been more than pleasant! The manager there is fantastic, especially on weekdays when it's quiet, attentive, service always better than I expect! Chicken served to me has been crispy and juicy, but I wouldn't recommend the honey mustard sauce it's not very good. Korean fried chicken is always very sweet so I always get original so I can dip and have the choice between salty and sweet!
The very first time I came here they gave me a free drink so I guess my experiences has always been good from the start , the other day I was in a rush and called up to see if they can start cooking my order so that when I get there it'll be ready to eat (I was 10 minutes away) when I arrived he had the table all set up and the chicken was brought out within a minute. Since I live extremely close this is my go to place when I feel like Korean fried chicken, aside from the amazing service I have; I'm only giving it a 3.5 because its not the best I've had, their other dishes on the menu isn't amazing nor amazing value. Overall I would recommend this place for a first timer of Korean fried chicken!
Also this place uses halal chicken incase anyone wanted to know.
Dropped by with a group for dinner and we were pleased! We were introduced to the menu and options by a staff who was very friendly and helpful. Food arrived quickly and was very filling and satisfying. The chicken was well done, the corn cheese and potato heaven were also great. Would definitely return.

We dined here last night as a group of 3 before watching a movie. Have wanted to try it for a while. We ordered the gami whole chicken board (with bones) and got it flavoured half sweet chilli and half soy garlic. Both flavours were nice but all 3 of us agreed if we had to choose the sweet chilli was all our favourite. We also ordered the corn cheese which was nice. Chicken came with cabbage salad which was ok and I personally loved the pickled radish - could have eaten more bowls of these little beauties all night. I tried the crushed pear drink/juice and enjoyed it as it had pieces of pear in it. Overall we enjoyed the food and the service. Cost was $20 each for the food we shared and also a drink each so we thought it was good value. Will definitely return as I want to try gami wings as the table next to us had those and we did all have food envy so good reason to return and try other items on the menu. Will be adding this place to the list of eateries we enjoy when we come to Knox Ozone.

When Gami first opened in Knox, I straight away went in to order the Gami Sampler along with HITE Beer. Chi-maek as what the Koreans would say whenever you have fried chicken needs to be washed down with maekju (Beer). The taste was nice and not oily at all. Customers are given a small bowl of prawn chips and some white radish. I personally find it nice and service was great & attentive. The owner even gave me a gift - a Gami recycle bag!
A decent franchise of the original in the CBD. The boneless chicken pieces are on the smaller side and the quantity of the sauces has declined. However, the taste was of the battered chicken was on point.
Service is impeccable: they kept bringing replacement bowls of the crisps as we were starving them and were going through them with some speed while we waited for the fried chicken.
Didn't have any beers with the fried chicken, so might have to go back for a proper fried chicken experience!

so it was my first time trying gami and I can say I loooooove the soy and garlic chicken! Its probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite Korean chicken shop! The only reason its not my #1 because its not as as crispy on the outside. Staff was polite and I have no complaints 😀

Not as good as the outlet on Little Lonsdale Street in the CBD for a few reasons. First is that the chicken pieces are quite small and generally not as juicy. Secondly, regarding my favourite flavour--the soy garlic--the sauce is very thick, viscous and sweet like honey, which it shouldn't be. It still tastes ok but nothing like it really should. The soy and garlic flavours are mostly lost. The spicy chicken and sweet chili are fairly decent, not top notch but better than the soy garlic. I wasn't impressed with the original which is very plain and on the dry side. Not even more enjoyable than KFC IMO. I found the cheesy corn and the deokbokki quite good, although the rice cake in the deokbokki was a bit too firm. The seafood pancake was barely crispy at all so I wouldn't order that again. Having mentioned where this branch falls short, it is the only Korean fried chicken to be found in that area, and this branch of Gami still do an ok job with that in mind. Even if they don't live up to the standard of the rest of the franchise.

I finally went and reviewed my local Gami! Had the Maandu, Kimchi Pancake, the beer and boneless chicken with Honey Mustard (avoid) and Sweet Chilli (definitely). The trick here is to order a light meal followed by your mains. This gives the kitchen plenty of time to cook and allows you to graze without that "waiting" feeling.
Go for the jug of beer - it's perfect. Staff were not as attentive as the CBD store, but I think that's more cause of the clientele not knowing what they wanted as much as them being inattentive. Awesome place, would recommend having it inside (to avoid food getting cold) and with some good company. Great crowd pleaser and definitely awesome fried chicken!

Bookings are essential for this newly opened and bustling place! We were lucky to come early at 5:30pm to get a bar table for 9 people as other larger tables were reserved. Shared two plates of half & half of the boneless flavoured chicken in the four flavours: garlic soy, spicy, sweet chilli and original. Also shared the chicken spare ribs as the side dish. Flavours were tasty! :)
My friends have always talked about Gami chicken. I've never had that experienced. My expectations have been high knowing that they're opening a store in Knox O Zone. So, I took the wifey out for a movie Friday night and feeling peckish after, decided to pop into Gami. We were ushered to a table pretty quickly which was good. Staff looked enthusiastic and the music was pumping. We ordered the boneless chicken served half in the original flavour and the remaining half in a hot sticky glaze. Drinks were great, chicken was succulent and crispy but not like KFC although this is Korean Fried Chicken 😉.
Loved both the flavours and the condiments which were some sort of coldslaw and pickled dicon (white radish).
We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
DO: The chicken obviously. Recommend the original whole chicken with a serving of their super crunchy delicious chips.
DON'T: Know what to order? Just ask the friendly staff. Alternatively just go with the boneless chicken.
TIP: Must drink beer. Even if you're not much of a drinker, the beer cuts through the heaviness of the chicken. Proud and privileged to have leased out a shop in Westfield to these amazing operators. Best in class in Melbourne.
Love this place! I went here two days ago with a couple of friends. It was a busy Sunday night so we were expecting a bit of a wait for our food...but it was brought out very quickly! Nice work, guys! We ordered wings (original fried) with the honey mustard and soy garlic sauces, potato heaven, green salad, mandu (fried dumplings) and chips. We realized that we ordered way too much, but we tried our best to eat it all!
The chicken and chips were excellent! The other dishes were okay, but man, I was just so happy to have that chicken
Have been eagerly anticipating the opening of Gami and was not disappointed. Boneless chicken tasted amazing and was just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and yet so tender and juicy on the inside. Spicy seafood stew was so spicy and a bit of a let down since there weren't many seafood ingredients inside. Nevertheless I'll be frequently this place to have more chicken and try out the other dishes as well
More like a 4.5 star. Really nice crispy chicken. Wish there were more of it. Get the original and have the sauces by the side. That will keep the chicken crispy. The table next to us left with their whole serving of chicken untouched. It was soaked with the sauces and I guessed that’s why. Different Gami outlets have their own specialty. This Knox outlet have their own but did not try this time. Will try some of it the next time we visit again.
Came here with the family for a bite and some beers on a Friday night and was able to get a table around 7:30 despite the place and others around Knox ozone being quite busy.
We ordered the fried chicken boneless pieces, cheese sticks and some beers.
We had to ask about our drinks as the waitresses forgot about them but that was resolved quickly and all the staff were spoke to were very friendly.
The only other negative is the location. Unfortunately motorcycles Park in front of the restaurant and the idiot riders don't mind blasting their exhausts straight at the restaurants... Is ridiculous that Westfield allows footpath parking directly within 1m of people sitting at a table trying to eat... The restaurants should ask for the footpath to be motorcycle free.
Awesome Kfc (Korean fried chicken 🐔🐔), crispy yet tender in the inside. Seafood pancake is ok I have tasted better somewhere else. Tteokboki is a no from me, I have found the sauce is a bit too watery.

What I liked at this location was that they had a pictorial version of their menu. Kudos guys! And it was instantly obvious who were the regulars and who were trying it out for the first time. I had my selection chosen because of the last time I had been to one of their city stores. And in doing so, I knew exactly which one to get.
First of all, I recommend getting a seat on the inside. It’s way too cold to have it outside.
Second, make sure you order things with light meals first followed by the mains, as you will always be grazing. What I recommend?
Well, the Kimchi Pancake is perfect and a staple favourite of mine. Spiced in just the right way and vegetarian – scrumptious! However, I then decided to try the Maandu and yes.
This time, I also ventured out of my usual Scotch/Bourbon/Whisky selection and had their beer. This, my friends, was the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the fact you can get 5 glasses to a jug – you’re laughing.
Overall, I found the service to be ok – they weren’t very attentive and this was dependent on the server. The atmosphere and decor was on point.
Really delicious deep fried chicken here. There is so much food for 2 if you go for the half half boneless fried chicken. They even give you coleslaw and radish on the side here which go perfectly with the main dish. Such good value for the food you get. You will be walking away with a full belly!
Burger was decent but this place it's all about the boneless chicken and that corn cheese it's seriously amazing and even that potato heaven. Also recommend trying the gun:bae pale ale.
Always delicious chicken. Soy garlic is my favourite sauce poured over the whole lot. I always ask for extra daikon as my kids fight over it:/ and can't forget the peach Soju to make you warm and fuzzy. Favourite Korean by far.
