Favourite kitchen is a good place to enjoy some Cantonese food. The location is a bit far from city, but it has enough car park and good traffic. It has a big open space and three functions room, so it is able to fit all purpose of dinner or lunch. Staffs are really nice.
Food is about yam cha or traditional Cantonese food. Lobster, Crab and Oysters are really fresh and cooked in good flavour. Tea is really nice as well. Recommend lobster, salted egg prawn, and fried beef.
Recently love yumcha here. The food is healthy, My blood sugar haven’t been over after I had yumcha here. The sweet tofu, egg tart, zaliang, ginger milk and the pork rib are very tasty.
I'm a sucker for special fried rice, so considering I live just down the road I figured I'd give it a shot! $10 for a large fried rice, and they were sooo generous with the portion, I'll have enough for lunch and dinner tomorrow! Friendly staff, they said I could take a seat while I waited and they brought me a basket of prawn crackers. I thought that was really sweet of them.
Their chicken is to die for - not to sure how to translate into straight English but it is called 白切鸡 kind of like poached chicken but flavoured. Definitely something to try as we ordered half a chicken and it was so good we ordered another whole one and this was between 4 people! Flavours overall were very mild which I like. I don't like heavily salted or msg dishes I prefer it more mild where you can still taste the ingredients. Service was great as the head waiter always tried to make conversation and he was super funny!
The decor of this restaurant really reminds me of the typical modern Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong. The food is equally authentic and is generally quite consistent. We love the yoghurt egg white with fish roe, lamb shanks hot pot, and foie gras king prawn!
Kiddo was recommended by the waitress to have one of their signature fried rice dishes. Her's was flavoured with dried scallop and egg white. It was generous serve and could have easily fed 2-3 people. The lemongrass pork was also popular. Whilst there was a lovely savouriness from the fish sauce, I found the sugar used to counter this was a bit too much. It was a very sweet dish. I also quite enjoyed the vegetarian dish of bamboo pith and mushrooms and spinach. A great vegetarian dish and something a little bit different as I don't come across bamboo pith often.
Pretty good quality yum cha and plenty of choices. Good service and easy to find parking. Value for money $120 Scoopon voucher, but hard to get a weekend lunch booking. Overall, great place for yum Cha at Wantirna thanks to its new management.
Lovely food paired with great service. Their yum cha selection is amazing. We were spoilt for choices. Very tasty and delicately made. Definitely one of the finer dim sum I've seen so far. Not to mention, the chrysanthemum tea was full flavoured with the scent of the flowers and mildly sweet. Will be back!
Came here to have a lobster banquet on a Sunday night, the place is definitely quieter since the change of ownership and restaurant name from Golden Pebble. It was a pricey meal, but food was nice.
We started with a sea cucumber and mushroom soup which tasted a bit too much like Msg and stock to me, but it was flavorful. The scallops were also a tad salty and a bit too chewy, but overall nice. Lobster noodles were saucy, full of flavor and delicious. Fish was flavored well but was overcooked, making it very rubbery. Golden chicken was very crispy and had just enough flavor, whilst eggplant dish was average, a little too sour for my taste. Fruit was over sweet and clearly soaked in syrup, don't understand why that's necessary when there's a sweet dessert soup right next to it. We had a green lentil dessert soup which was really nice.
Servers were polite and attentive, but almost over attentive as they just stood right next to our table and kept changing our cutlery at any possible moment. It felt like they were bored and had nothing to do, but I do prefer this over under-attentive service.
Overall the food was decent, but it wouldn't be anything I would recommend as Elate Kitchen still serves a better Lobster banquet in my opinion.
This is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants around. The interior is decorated quite lavishly, transporting you directly to Asia. Service is prompt and efficient too.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including a clay-pot seafood, BBQ pork with plum sauce, chicken ribs with salted egg yolk, etc., which were all well cooked and flavoured. The stand-out dish for me is probably the BBQ pork with plum sauce; damn, it was just so good!
Complimentary soup is also a bonus!
We had a fruit platter for dessert. Their oranges were one of the sweetest I've had in my life!
Portions are well sized and prices are very affordable ($18.80-$30+ depending on the dish).Overall, will definitely be back!
Mobile review. Good service, nice food, staff are very nice. I will comeback again.
Comfy to sit and the waitress really serving fast and responsive. Dim sims are fantastic. Very Hong Kong style.
Consistently great food. And icy cold fridge for cold beers and drinks!!
My new favourite yum cha place! The food was excellent quality, and the service was impeccable. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. The ladies pushing the trolleys were extra friendly which is hard to see at yum cha places. I'll definitely be back! 😋💕
Nice dim sum! I really enjoyed the salted egg buns here and the fried dumplings were phenomenal! Siu mai’s were so juicy.
I did find the chee cheong fun a little plain, could use more flavour.
📷 Siu mai, Siu Long Bao, BBQ Pork puff, Five Spice Fried Dumpling, Salted Egg Yolk Lava Bun (baked), BBQ pork Chee Cheong Fun, Mango Nectar
Had the Chinese New Year banquet for dinner. Delicious food and great service. Will be back to try their yum cha next
I am going to say I enjoyed and I will return, the service was friendly and efficient. The food was nice as expected and the BYO wine was placed in ice.
For a large group there are some great round tables, fun window table. The place had that large Chinese restaurant feel.
Came here looking for somewhere quiet away from the crowd and found a gem. The dim sum was good and had a good variety. But not all the items are as good as other places. Nevertheless, I can tell that the chef has put in lots of effort in keeping the quality of the food at a high standard. The wait staff were excellent and very intuitive. There are even 3 private rooms for private gatherings. Parking is ample.
Nice to discover another authentic Cantonese yum cha restaurant. Great taste
This place has been my go-to for yummy cantonese style dishes during the various lockdowns. We love the Peking duck set that they do. Also, collection timings are always accurate and food is really good. In between lockdowns we have had yumcha here too and would highly recommend that as well.
